    Anyone who follows either fighter knows that Sergey has the greater chance of winning. Sergey isn't just some hard hitting fighter, the man is a precise killer. He can literally run at you and knock you out. He can pick you apart like a sniper from a distance. He can knock you out on the inside, he is quick, elusive, lengthy and he generates his power with feints, so his knockout punches are almost never seen.
    He TKO's people with jabs to the stomach.
    His Killer instinct rivals that of Mike Tyson and the man has explosive rage. You can tell his only desires are to conquer any and all men in his way.
    It's no disrespect to Hopkins, with Kovalev's overall success, how could you not choose Kovalev to win over ANYONE!?

    The ease with which he moves that bag is crazy, so much power in those shots, his looping hook to the body is one of the most dangerous out there.

    If Kovalev does like Murray did in the first rounds, he could knock out B Hopkins.I saw this fight and I believe B Hopkins is going to get hurt this time although Kovalev has to work on some technical issues.If Kovalev had a really good trainer he could become unbeatable

    Kovalev ain't no fuckin joke! Man I love b hop forreal but kovalev ain't Trinidad or pavlik he actually can set traps and has angles, he can counter and lead ...I could be wrong cuz Hopkins has so much boxing skill and he has always taken a good lick when he has been hit even tho that's rare he does take it well but I think this is the end of the show for hop...with all due respect to the man, he ius one of the best ever.

      That is the european technique. You can see GGG thowing hooks to the liver in conventonal style and european one.

    • @RedDevilNumber1
      @RedDevilNumber1 9 років тому +2

      I might not be right but here is what I see.
      The punches you can't see that hurt and he throws at a very wide angle. With his wrist angled almost horizontally sort of locking the wrist joint. That way no energy is lost on impact and the wrist and arm will have the full weight on the punch in them. If he gets over the top of a punch like that and throws it with full force. Good night.

    • @Mang213
      @Mang213 7 років тому +1

      He throws hooks in various ways, but he was definitely practicing a particular type of hook here. We worked on different hooks when I boxed, too, including this one.

    If Sergey wants to win this fight he must be ready of how Bernard use a technique of punching and simultaneously clinching. In this way Bernard gains a point every time he do it. But to win this fight it will be decided on the referee because every time I see a Bernard Hopkins fight the referee tends to separate boxers all the time when Bernard use his technique.

    I'm so big on Kovalev, but I won't be surprised if Hopkins takes him to school for 12 uneventful rounds!?? He's all straight forward offense, moves well, but his style makes him open to the counter... You know the Alien is gonna have a few tricks up his sleeves and a plan in place for fighter like Kovalev!

  • @youz1uglybish
    @youz1uglybish 9 років тому +5

    lol sergey kovalev is so much more impressive in the ring then he is while watching him train...the guy looks like a club fighter here his heavy bag work isnt very impressive,his shadow boxing looks merely ok and his speed bag work looks like he just started hitting the thing about 5 months ago....but man this guy is a destroyer in that ring his speed,ring I.Q, and footwork is what surprised me against hopkins we knew he could punch but for him to beat hopkins without blitzing him with 100 punches per round is amazing..i would go as far as to say he just outboxed b-hop...lol never thought that would be the story line after that fight you can blame it on hopkins age all you want but that 50 year old will still beat damn near any other fighter in the LHW division

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому

      iv'e actually had the privilage of watching kovalev train in person.he used to train at the contenders gym with john david jackson in ft lauderdale fl.
      iv'e seen alot of guys on the heavy bag nothing about this is particularly impressive but when he gets in the ring he just has that extra somthing.even when sparring iv'e seen him beat the hell out of heavyweights.
      now with andre ward im not going to say that out loud lol..ward is a beast i think he handles kovalev this isnt a 50 year old bernard hopkins your talking about in ward

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому +1

      andre ward is the one guy bernard hopkins absolutley refused to fight...lol i think ward would have made b-hop look every minute of 50 years old
      i respect kovalev he's the real deal but andre ward is special.
      hopkins tried to win the kovalev fight from the outside and imo that was a tactical mistake.ward on the other hand maybe the best inside fighter in the sport.he gets in your chest and just flat out beats you up.no matter who you are every puncher has 1 thing in common they need space to throw the bombs.no fighter in todays sport is better at taking that space away than andre ward.
      theres a guy that fights like that at the gym i go to and i hate sparring the guy.shit is frustrating and eventually you start to throw punches out of frustration and thats when you start to get countered.wards style is beautiful but ugly as the same time
      i think its only a matter of time before we see kovalev and ward in the ring lol we shall see

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому

      i personally woudnt bet on either man in that fight its a pick em....i would like to see ward get a few tune up fights before stepping up to the plate he's been inactive for a while
      if you stay on the outside against kovalev he's going to pick you apart.this is why i feel adonis stevenson has no chance at all.the smart strategy is to make the fight ugly and smother him
      with andre ward he's either up close where you cant really hurt him...too far away where you cant touch him and if he's occupying that intermediate space he's punching....alot of the times in that intermediate space he's going to throw one shot slip and get to the inside (where he can tie you up immediatley) or just work the dirty boxing he does so well.
      lol nobody fights like ward so its hard to prepare for him.the biggest difference between hopkins and ward right now is ward is way quicker on the trigger as far as letting his hands go.another difference is wards aggresiveness b-hop will only take what you give him while ward will pressure you into mistakes.
      either way both ward and kovalev will have their hands full...may the best man win lol

    • @brianh3897
      @brianh3897 9 років тому

      His shadowboxing is really good. He does a good job of maintaining balance, while moving all the time staying on his toes. Also punching while moving all angles. It's really good bro he has it all except the flash.

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому +1

      iv'e seen guys with killer shadow boxing but they cant fight a lick lol...kovalev surprisingly has very good timing and a great sense for distance those are things that really dont show up in training until you start sparring...he's a beast sparring kovalev will be around for a long time he's going to wax every body at 175 until ward moves up and then im not sure whats going to happen

    people keep saying this guy is nothing special. well knocking out the amount of people him and ggg are doing its more special than anything else ive seen in boxing. look at that fight with agnew. agnew was a great counter puncher in that fight with a amazing guard and agnew looked strong as hell. sergey won that tough fight. it actually played out very much like the ggg fight against curtis stevens another very good knock out fighter.iim going to this fight and if sergey can hit hopkins hes in trouble but sergey might not be able to hit him its not like his power or speed is that great. later in the fight as soon as a guu gets tired and tried to just block his punches thats when he gets most of his kos. anyway its going to be a great fight. and everyone saying sergey isnt shit then who is good at light heavyweight? cause adonis def didnt want any part of this guy. hopkins is a fucking warrior for even taking this fight. both these guys have to win and wont get much credit when they do it. i say b hop by sd and hes going to have to look bad to get the win

    Nothing BHop hasnt seen before....actually looks very average! We shall see when the eight round starts and Kovalev is somewhere he has NEVER been before. Ding Ding Ding thats when school will truly begin! I cant believe so many people think this guy is something and he has NEVER been 12 rounds.....but then again I like it when they put these hyped up guys in front of a legend! Remember LEGENDS dont get old over night!!!! Ole Man does it again!

    • @musicclassic5938

      ReNee, the reason for that draw was a would-be illegal blow by Kovalev - he damaged the guy badly but the ref decided that the shot was illegal. So that was not a draw actually. I agree, Hopkins deserves great respect for his longevity in the ring, but he does not seem to have any chances against Kov. Hopkins looked terrible against Chad Dawson whom the dude Adonis ducking Kovalev knocked out in the first round. Hopkins was easily outboxed by Roy Jones in a low-intensity fight. Kovalev won't give Bernard the luxury of low-intensity boxing. Hopkins could do nothing against Kalzaghe who does not have nearly the dynamite power Kovalev has. Hopkins actually belongs to the middle weight and Kovalev is a natural light heavy and may even fight one day in the cruiser weight. He is too powerful for the old man. And he will unleash real fury in the ring like Myke Tyson. Nobody could outbox Mike in his prime and nobody can outbox Kovalev in his prime. You'll soon see this with your own eyes.

      ***** Kovalev wins this, one way or another. But damn, what are these arguments? Many people died in boxing, lightweights aswell. Magomed Abdusalamov nearly died after his fight with Mike Perez. Curtis Stevens floored Majewski with a single jab. Agnew, who hasn't fought anyone before Kovalev, went 7 rounds with Kovalev.

      You're right. Nothing distinguishing about this guy given Bhop's record with numerous fighters, but he aint no walk in the park. He's a smart fighter and above average compared to most of the younger fighter's BHop's faced. All he has to do is avoid getting slugged and keep a distance between him and Kovalev. This guy is good at dealing shots on the inside and his punches aren't soft either.

    • @yobro250
      @yobro250 9 років тому

      It's just a training session....Don't get me wrong I favor Hopkins to win, but I don't see what you can really take from a training session....I always thought Mayweather never looked particularly impressive in his training footage, but we all know what happens when he fights....Some people look "cooler" in training than others....Remember how awesome Gary Russel JR looked in some of his training footage....and look what happened to him he got exposed....Imo you can't take much of anything from training footage....If I didn't know boxing and just watched some Mayweather training videos I would not be impressed at all and think he was just a decent average boxer....Since he doesn't look anything special when he trains....
      That being said Hopkins should be the favorite against Kovalev....

    • @Aliensarethinking
      @Aliensarethinking 9 років тому

      You are absolutely right about it all. You know your stuff. Gary Russell surprised me too. If it was me I wouldn't give people a peep of me even punching the bag, because your opponent looks for small stuff to take advantage and expose in the ring. Good reply

      DON FETUCCINI
      Yea I agree with your main point that Kovalev isn't anything special (he's decent but not as good as the hype he is getting)....I also don't think Golovkin is anything special yet people are acting like he's Prime George Foreman or something....But training is only training and imo doesn't mean much in terms of scounting a guy for a fight....Glass Jaw Khan looks better than Floyd when he trains :)
      I actually like Algieri much better than Kovalev.....I don't think he beats Pac, but the guy has some great boxing skills and is talented....Kovalev is only doing great because 175 is a joke of a division.....It's easily one of the shittiest divisions in boxing....Prime Hopkins could have Ebola on fight night and he would still probably beat Kovalev....But who knows about 50 year old Hopkins...
