PLEASE READE THIS. I was caring for my Dad during COVID. He developed dementia and I didn’t know how to handle it. I ended up putting him in a nursing home that ultimately killed him. If I had educational reality videos like this, I truly believe I would have been able to first understand the disease and been able to care for and attend to my Dad properly/more easily. All I was given was a bag of pills and an earful of bad advice and criticism. Danielle and Dan are doing an awesome job. I recognize the struggle, but I see the progress. Ed is very fortunate to have them and overall a family that gives a 💩. So before you judge these people, understand the big picture of this disease and the role of the caregiver. YOUR NEGATIVE , FINGER POINTING FAULT FINDING COMMENTS ARE NOT HELPING THEM, THE SITUATION OR ANYONE WANTING TO LEARN FROM THEIR JOURNEY.

I don’t think people are haters I think they worry about her strident commands, we may not be used to that tone of voice with an oldie. My mom had dementia for around 7 years and we never felt it necessary to sound militant towards her.

Danielle, you always look beautiful, bed head and all! Dad always remembers you even before his son. You mean a lot to dad. He knows your caring for him and loves you. Screw people with their comments. Most probably have never done caregiving for their elderly parent. One day they'll learn and may make the decision to put their parent in a home. It takes a lot to caregive the elderly parent. I know as i cared for both my parents thru their 90's and mom had dementia. You guys are doing a great job! Nasty comments go in one ear and out the other!! They have no idea!!
I personally cannot advise anyone regarding dementia and that's why I totally respect all nurses and family members who do it. I believe those few individuals who judge others, have serious issues in their lifes.. We can never do things the same way. Every one does what is comfortable. .
