I preordered the 16 pro due to water damage on my 12 pro. This tear down makes me very content with my purchase in comparison to the 15 pro. It looks like they made some crucial improvements to an already solid device

I am even more content with my decision to go for the 16 pro after seeing this tear down, I was considering just getting a 15 pro but I am glad I have decided to wait.

From the meticulous removal of components to the internal layout, there’s a clear resemblance in how the parts are organized. Even the way certain elements, like the battery and logic board, are accessed and secured feels strikingly similar. It’s as if both designs share a common philosophy, prioritizing modularity and ease of repair. This could suggest a growing trend in how modern smartphones are engineered with both user-friendliness and longevity in mind.
Battery will take you 2yrs before replacement needed. The screen will need only one drop and you need to replace it, takes 2hrs because many internal parts need to remove first before he can get into the screen ( back to the future of iphone 4 /4S repair style lol😂
@@mela5367 The screen has been relatively easy to repair for a long time. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 Pro added the option to open the iPhone from the back to make the back glass much more easy to replace and any other internal parts like the battery. I know it's hard to believe but Apple made repairs easier.
I like how they backed the rearglss with metal again, something they didn’t do with the 15 pro (it was connected to the frame) wich lead to a more brittle backglas
That steel casing on the battery should help stop swollen batteries obviously it’ll still degrade but won’t affect the rest of the phone due to puffing up

The size was slightly increased and the layout of the main board was changed to reduce this size, which freed up space to put in the camera and battery.

would love to see case designed for air flow and cooling fan with magsafe, ofc in a small form.. so you can play at high settings without degrading the battery

Did they even provide a figure? Sustained performance, CPU power, and GPU power are all up around 20ish percent but I don't remember any specific number for this. I think I would have remembered 5x.

Actually if you just replace the screen, you can just remove the screen as usual, we mostly start our teardown from back glass in order to disconnect the battery first
@@aiolos20 Yeah the pro max still use the old version the battery structure is stack as the old modules, the steel design will also bring more power, after we test, it should bring more 3%-5% thanks to the corner of the L shape.
That's a little disappointing to me. Why not give both Pro models the same battery upgrade and make it removable with a 9V battery like the cheaper 16s?

That aluminium middle frame for heat dissipation is a welcome feature, now their phones can be opened from the back.
They could last year for the pro phones and the year before for the regular
We also hope this new feature can really help heat dissipation, maybe we will test it in the next full video💪
