The issue i see with an R rated Batman film is they would use it as a way to make Batman as a character way too evil and edgey. Don't get me wrong he's meant to be dark and brooding but you can do that with a PG13 if you wanted. A true R rating should be focused on Batman's villains and the crimes he deals with. Studios often forget that the best Batman stories are ones that invoke bittersweet hope and not just senseless depressing edge.
Yeah, all my points in a video. Hopefully, with the Penguin being TV-MA (R) and its success, the producer over there will give Matt Reeves free reign. Also, the TV-MA rating made Gotham feel a whole lot scarier throughout the show and that's how Gotham is supposed to be. Too many times in the first movie I felt like the movie was censoring itself, an R rating will be the cherry on top. Also, Batman v Superman's "ultimate" edition was Rated R. for live action. Besides the animations like Gotham by Gaslight, Long Halloween etc..
I would like to see an R rated Batman, it would contrast with his “no killing” mindset because of the brutality they can show. However idk if WB would be willing to. Also Batman is one of the worlds most recognizable characters (not saying Woverine isn’t huge worldwide too). I think they’d be missing out on all that parent money if parents see Batman throwing around the F bomb (this is what I’m assuming from WB’s perspective).
batman doesn't have to swear at all and it can still be R-Rated. arkham knight is an example where batman doesn't say anything worse than "damn" and it's an M game
@@theunadulteratedpretzel very marketable series as well, which is what I was trying to lean into! Families bring in a lot of money for superhero movies. Who knows if they do it. I trust Gunn’s direction. He’s also proven r rated superhero movies work on his own. I think it’ll be interesting to see his vision but we will just have to wait and see!
He wouldn't need to swear...that's out of character. Just have Batman contrasted by the darkness of the city around him. He isn't a boyscout he is just a tortured and broken man doing what he thinks is right. At the end of the day it is just a lucky thing that he isn't as homicidal as his rogues gallery.

Great point, the Rating could affect the character in a negative way too.
@@theenigma2861 it depends if the writing team do a good job
bro keep going your vid are goated all respect
Thank you brother, will do.
@@BraveBladeProductions bro do you recomend to watch the dcua from Batman 1992 to the last cartoon show I dont know I think its for kids or what??
We need a Rated R joker that doesn’t hold anything back in the upcoming movies
I'd love to see it I'd love to see a full adaption of Frank Miller's Dark Knight returns which would probably be R rated I would be down for it
Bring back one of the old Batman actors for it and it would be a pretty cool idea.
@@BraveBladeProductionsthat would be totally awesome
@@BraveBladeProductionsnah give the role to Josh Brolin
@@BraveBladeProductions yeah
You already got that with the snyder movies

The freedom is the most important element here.

If they do it well, I’m sure it would still make money. Maybe not as much but still.

Agreed and to be honest i don’t see this as an issue given Batman is an adult I mean we had a joker film

Nah, I disagree. The Batman is the best adaptation of the character, and it didn't need an R rating. I dont think it would add anything 🤷🏻♂️
True, just interesting to ponder is all.
I wouldn’t make it worse either definitely would add more realism
I agree
