I grew up listening to the lovely music of The Beautiful South. When I was a kid in the 90s, my Mother would do the ironing on a Sunday for the week ahead, and would blast out 'Carry On Up the Charts' on the Hi-Fi system...great times. Paul Heaton is a musical genius. All the female singers and band members were great too, my personal favourites would be 'Let Love Speak Up Itself' and of course 'Prettiest Eyes'.
I was so young when I went to hear these guys play live, with the lightening seeds as their act... loved them them n still do , used to sing this song to my hubby..". And here we are more than a quarter of a century later... Then, I was told that Paul Heaton formed The Beautiful South, & I collected all of those as well. My USA friends have no clue who these great musicians are. Their loss, for sure! :)
