I own a 90 non turbo FC rx-7 and fucking love it. The FC has always been my dream car and it rips on the mountains. I have never driven an fd and dont care to but i can say the FC after its set up right with a stripped interior suspension tuning and full exhaust work its worth the struggle. Would suck as a DD tho.
I still remember the 2nd gen cadillac escalades on those disgusting things I remember thinking to myself how childish they looked and i was 6 when i first saw a set of spinners id like to say i have good taste in cars after all my elementary school principal had a 355 Berlinetta that she daylied
I put an "SE" badge from a Toyota Camry on my Focus SE. The previous owner ripped off the badging and painted over the glue so you could still see the remnants of the badges on the paint. I had to cover it up anyway. I ended up buying the Toyota "SE" badge because it looked cooler.
I misss my gagt I ported Tf out of heads n lower intake the kid I sold it to still has me maintain it I get to drive it every couple months I loved that dam car it has over 200k now I put 170k on the car.. I bought another galaxy silver car traded hoods so mine got the ram air hood an sold the other one lol
I honestly like debadging my cars for a more sleek look or just so people will look at my car and wonder "what is that". Did it with my Mazda 6S and my Malibu LSV6. With both of those the best option for those makes it was almost like under badging and that has caught plenty of people by surprise
@@lonelydriver1421 smart idea haha i mean carbon wrap on interior doesnt really matter since its just plastic i just hate when ppl carbon wrap hoods and shit when i see carbon hoods for like 600 lol
On the other hand, driving a car for the road with real carbonfibre parts is sometimes also dump. Like the mirrorcabs on a mercedes c63 amg. The car is very heavy and shaving off 32gramms with carbonfibre is also just for the looks. So wellmade vinylwrap can be nice tho.
Car mod i regret. My first civic was a 92 ex and stripped the entire interior, sanded it all down smooth and painted it white with royal blue accents. The whole dash was high gloss white, the headliner. The door panels had no foam or fabric i sanded those down 2. Now.... when it was done, it looked like some rediculous fast and furious car but if it was remotely sunny you couldnt drive be cause of the glare on the windshield from the shiny white dash.
Glad to see a video mentioning the Grand am. My first car was an 05 se with no spoiler and no weird body cladding. I was even excited when RegularCars reviewed an Alero. I miss that car, shop techs didnt install the rear wheel plastic liners correctly in most Grand Ams which lead to premature rust in the back corners
A mate once spent a fortune having his 1.6 mk3 Ford escorts interior COMPLETELY reupholstered in blue and white zebra print fake fur. The outside was white with vinyl two tone blue zebra stripes as well Back in the 80 that car looked super cool, But after about 3 months of using it during nights out with drunk friends eating McDonald's and KFC on the way home, the interior just looked grubby and, to be brutally honest, unhygienic as a petrol station toilet. He eventually tried using carpet cleaner on the passenger seat, but it took a load of the blue dye out and made that one seat look faded.
Definitely regret buying aftermarket halo headlights for my 1999 accord. I thought there were the shit especially with 8000k HIDs in them. Then I realized my OEM lights looked way better and also had WAY better light dispersion.
Clear tails, stickers running down the fender… Team stickers in general. What about when everything in the interior had to glow for no reason? Shift knob, e brake handle, pedals…
Call it desperation & being cheap..plus at the time we didn't have alot of tuning shops. But eventually i got them replaced with intrax springs and kyb struts.
proud to say I actually took performance badges off some of my vehicles and tried to make them look as sleeper-ish as possible for a time. had a 1991 mustang notch-back with both pipes coming out beside each other, quiet mufflers, and just factory LX rims to make it look 4 cylinder-ish. It wasn't rank (13.7 1/4), but for the early 2000s, that wasn't bad and it gripped pretty much just as good on the street. One way I'd pick out slow vehicles was looking at the tires; sometimes I'd see vehicles all decked out, suspension, rims, exhaust, lots of superficial stuff rolling on touring/all-seasons... those were always easy wins back in the day of peak ricer.
I don't ever remember seeing crooked plates on the bumpers of civics. Any civic I remember having the crooked plate was done on the hatch or the trunk lid itself. That was a pretty popular mod in the 80s - early 2000s.
As a 24 year old guy I'm proud to say I've never glued a fake performance badge on my car. I did wrap some ugly paint matched interior parts in fake carbon fiber, even my ashtray was wrapped so I could get cancer even faster.
I wish stanced vehicles would finally die. I feel that time is close. Proper fitment will always look way better than when your shit is angled and poking out beyond belief. It’s rice. It’s not function, it’s rice.
How about the giant aluminum "shopping cart" wings, the single wiper arm, the double wiper blades, altezzas, spinners and let's not forget roof scoops! Basically everything from the early 2000s LOL
My UK 1998 Rover 416i, lowered with skirts, twin 5 spokes, e-tech wing and......... a totally unnecessary 420 badge. If I could go back in time I'd slap myself. Love your work guys!
The alligator back lovers on the back windshield. Like a Tyrannosaurus rex🦖 Got admit, i’d love to have a corded car phone in my rear center seat console, hey...
I put Type R badges on my eg sedan a few years back 😂 not only did it look horrible but the hood badge didn't fit properly and I ended up losing it on my way to work 😂
Am I the only one who thinks like all these trends really aren't that bad... I mean you still see some of these. Except the taillight swap, don't do that.
At 6 minutes you mention the grand am hood scoops and trans am scoops but their actually true ram air intake hoods to help airflow for the intake😂😂 this channel just blew my mind
I couldn't stand sticker bombing. Sticker bombing their hoods, interior dash, front bumper. I don't know if it's still around but I'm guilty into doing it myself. Never again.
I had a "Fake badge" on my 2.8L Ford Capri. It had rust on the tailgate, So I went out and managed to find a mint second hand replacment that was already in the right Ford diamond white, But it was originally off a 1.6GL. Never did get around to taking the 1.6 stickers off that tailgate, And because of that the car surprised quite a few boy racers off the lights. :)
The 4” intake scoops on early model Impreza’s is still really hot. I’ve got a 2.5rs and the big hood scoops are still getting installed on both sides of both ponds.
You're also guilty of having "Lexus/Altezza rear lights. LOL That look got SOOOOO dated 4 or 5 years back that I covered most of my is200's rear lights with red tinting film. I left the bottom section clear so the indicators and reversing light still showed through. I honestly feel that it gave the rear end a much more modern look.

Mercedes Dealerships actually sell "AMG trims" like an E350 AMG that have slight differences like wheels an exhaust tips or wheels, exhaust tips, AMG signatures, etc.

So my fake carbon fiber wrapped gas tank lid doesn’t reduce weight?
Cadeorade 10 I guarantee you'll look back and just wonder why you did that. Carbon wrap looks tacky.
UnitiveWILLIAM24 I didn’t just making a joke😂 I drive a Scion tC, no amount of mods will make the car fast

No it does as long as you didn't put it back on the car
No they are lying takes away 50lbs and adds 700whp
I just want you all to know, EVERY SINGLE ONE of these trends is alive and well in the truck community

6:00 Ok at least the STI Subies and Trans Am Firebirds actually had FUNCTIONAL scoops...
And they came like that from factory too
That hood on that f body is not stock 😏
@@nessHappening yes it is he literally gives you the factory package name in the video.
The ram air hoods on the grand am’s were actually cool though.
@@nessHappening that f body firebird had the ws6 package which came with the ram air hood and a few other things. The hood is stock.
I remember putting pod gauges on the pillars just for looks but nothing was ever hooked up except led light in them lol
Pillar gauges are still in
Spinner rims what was anyone thinking with that?
Still looks good on the right cars

I would actually attribute this mod to black culture, not necessarily the car community.
My pizza delivery guy in FL had spinners on his 2004 Jag S-Type, looked cool for the first year, till they stopped spinning.
When I was like 6 I wanted dollar sign spinners lol
Fake vents, fart cans, sticker tuning, big pointless wings, diesels tearing azz through town but can’t go highway speed.
Lighted washer nozzles , and a real throwback : double wiper blades on each wiper arm with spoilers.
But they still produce the civic type R seems like that’s all still popular lol
I drive a vw Jetta tdi🥺 what’s wrong with diesels? Mines got speed?! (I have hit 120 easy)
New Civic Type R’s have the performance to back it up.
Just bought a 93 Mazda with a big ass wing and HKS stickers but the engine is stock
This ought to be a new trend(that we won't regret) rebadging cars with the correct badges but from other cars.
on the topic of toyota, i have a SR5 tacoma but put trd off-road decals on the bedside. sorry guys
I'm gonna put an AMG badge on my skyline lmao
I regret not buying toilet paper when I had the opportunity
Dude life hack - look into the water cleaning device and order one. Even if you run out - that will ALWAYS work as a back up.
Your hands must have stunk pretty bad during that time.
Grand ams getting love 😂😂 still rocking the nostril hoods and loving it.
KMaffittGAGT I know right lol I follow you on instagram love the build 💯👾😈

@BIRTHDAYFACE046 lmao!
Biggest regret is blue windshield wiper lights from 20 years ago, and tinted windows that are half chrome and fade to black omg!!!!!
Wow! What a throwback
Chrome wiper arms
I had all of those on my Honda in high school
The rubbery chrome edge of the door trim needs to be taken out by Coronavirus

You can definitely tell when something is carbon wrap. Looks cheap and makes you look like youre in high school lol
