beautiful city with a touch of Scotland, very clean streets, splendid arcades and monuments with plenty of woodlands and countryside around and a city by the sea . A very agreable city to live in
Lived in Newcastle for 20 years and now living in Orlando… its amazing how much you don't miss something until its gone! A few months time and i'll be back!
I moved away 24 years ago to live in Wales, lived there 20 years and now live in Mexico. I plan to return in the future, thanks for the video, so much has changed in Newcastle since I last visited 8 years ago.
My wife and I were in Newcastle in October, and I do miss it. We're from Atlanta, and it's easy to see why Atlanta and Newcastle are sister cities. Both are fabulous cities with a lot of culture. Sometimes I dream about being an expat and moving Tyneside. Howay the Lads!
I'm from birmingham what a beautiful city newcastle is when I went to college in Nottingham there was loads of Geordies there, I became friends with two, Geordies are so friendly, I've never visited newcastle would love to one day, the Geordie accent is my favourite I think it's fantastic.
Thanks for the great video! Looking forward to visiting and staying in Newcastle for the very first time. Visiting my daughter, who is there at Uni. She absolutely LOVES it in geordie land! People are so friendly and the atmosphere around town, is very upbeat. I'm sure I won't be disappointed!
Awesome video, miss the Toon so much! i was a student there for 5 years and some change did my BA and Masters there, best half decade of my life! Will definitely be visiting again. Uni life in Newcastle rocks! Thanks very much for posting this videos surely has brought some memories lol and i only graduated in November 2012! My life started their September 2007.
My last trip to Newcastle was in about 1980. I was living in Sydney in those days and Newcastle was one of my favourite places to visit. There used to be a restaurant in Hunter Street called Hungry Johns, which always gave customers an enjoyable meal.
+basquill1 unfortunately Grey street had a lot of construction going on on the day I was filming so didn't look its usual best. ua-cam.com/video/0au0DA2LBRA/v-deo.html
Am ageordie n proud of it...living in North Yorkshire at mo...but everybody aknaa prefers up Newcastle...people are friendlier up there n everybody talks to ya,are the comments ave heard off people who have visited Tha Toon n Tyneside in general! :-)
Whoops!! I just realised that this is Newcastle UK. No wonder I couldn't recognise it. I was talking about Newcastle Australia. Strangely enough, some streets in the video are similar to Newcastle Australia. Anyway, it is a great video. Thanks for sharing.
Cool video. Have you got more of other cities or places? If you mind a suggestion, maybe you could do the second half of a video at night, that way we'd get a more complete feel of each place. Good job though.
Thanks for the feedback, I am going to start doing other areas of the North East and will revisit Newcastle complete with night shots so be sure to subscribe. Cheers
Mr P. I dared criticise someone for their atrocious camera work and got some angry abuse! Funny really. Good to see that you've used a video camera before and nice slow panning and steady camera work, so I feel credit is due for your good informative video. Well Done.
that's awesome. I came her cause i wanted to know more about Mark Knopfler and his life in this city and at 4:11, you can hear one of his Dire Straits song: Going Home
Ok, Last time I was in Bewusste is just a few weeks ago, that was in 1968. I would like to come again and have a beer in a Newcastle pub haftet the Covid shit and listen to the nice Geordie accent.. greetings from Berlin in Germany
born and bred there but joined army at 19 and left, never lived there since god i miss the place so much and you could say im biased but still to this day i have never met such a friendlier city
I get that the city must be fun, that natives love it etc, but nothing I saw in this video strickes me as particularly beautiful compared to any middle-sized european town. I am not trolling, just encouraging you guys to get some perspective
Lou Ayneux your wrong there, I am from London and I been Europe, like I overlooked this city as in many other cities in U.K., but this one is so beautiful
ericktwelve11 There are a lot of English people in exclusive areas and Greater london... Like Uxbridge brought Ealing, South Ealing, Richmond, etc. Immigrants are mostly in known areas like Ealing, Southall, Acton, Hayes, Hounslow etc.
+carp magic let's look at Newcastles past, the inventors of the bulb, the inventors of the fastest ships also not to forget the first train, steam train and many many more. oh and by the way most of the pictures were taken in the town itself and outside the town there's a lot more to it e.g 2nd biggest shopping centre was the first and 100,000s houses thank you and bye ;)
A truly wonderful city ruined by the infestation of students, beautiful buildings torn down to house them, and our nightlife ruined by them, and yet still they come.
And why do Universities exist? To enrich human knowledge, to contribute to a core part of the nation's infrastructure, to generate employment and output, encourage dynamic growth in cities, bring high-value jobs to regions where there are not so many to be found, encourages spending... I think your response hasn't been considered at all. You might find students irritating, but they contribute a lot to any city. I am from Bristol and have recently visited Newcastle. It's a beautiful city in terms of it's history, arts, and surrounding countryside. I felt no hostility at all from the students, they just seemed to mind their own business. Also, why wouldn't you want your city to be teeming with young, attractive and intelligent people? I found Geordie's to be incredibly kind and helpful, but not on a Friday night - there is a big drinking problem and the students are not at the core of it. I hope you don't take offence at my comment, every city in the UK has it's pros and cons. Take care.
Yes I remember going down town for the first time in the 90s and was brilliant because you would always get chatting to locals from around Newcastle and would frequently bump into people you knew. That's all been lost now.
Sorry but Universities are now just another money making industry. £8 -30K a year is incredible. The majority of students never end up there chosen career and end up in lower paid jobs with tens of thousands of debt to pay off. University for most is three or four years of drinking and partying and a few hours of the week in a classroom. Of course the majority of us Geordies don't hate students, they contribute a lot financially towards the area and generally are decent people.
+M0TH3R FUCK3R if you travel down the road about 9 miles from Newcastle there is a small village called Sunderland.... its very creepy and dark with loads of Goblins, but legend says you should never, never go there!!
beautiful city with a touch of Scotland, very clean streets, splendid arcades and monuments with plenty of woodlands and countryside around and a city by the sea . A very agreable city to live in
Lived in Newcastle for 20 years and now living in Orlando… its amazing how much you don't miss something until its gone! A few months time and i'll be back!

ericktwelve11 There are a lot of English people in exclusive areas and Greater london...
