I agree with Pat; it is jaw-dropping! I only noticed the bumnle bee with the hummingbird in the centre of the sunflower because you zoomed into it! Thank you!
There has been major technological advances in the last twenty years with sewing and long arm machines as well as the introduction of high tech embroidery machines. Those very talented individuals who have access to these technologies have a slight advantage especially when you can now choose a pattern of stitch, size / alter it, and map the exact stitching area into a computerized long arm system. It’s somewhat become commercial in execution. The quilts are stunning works of art, yet lack the organic artistry created prior to these advancements. In some respects, they have become mechanized. I may get backlash, but I don’t believe that quilts made with the use of an embroidery machine should be judged with those that have solely been pieced. It is a form of embellishment. A quilt by definition is a stitched sandwiched layer consisting of a top, batting, and backing, but shouldn’t there be separate levels of competition based on the use of these advancements?
They do have different categories at the show. There are some amazing quilts there. I can only imagine the time that went into them. There is a hand quilting category and they are beautiful. I was not able to get as much videoed as I wanted because of my battery. I know what you are saying about the long arming. Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for sharing these gorgeous quilts!!

I was there on Friday all day. I also particularly liked the one with the trees that your husband mentioned.

Show Quilts are a different category from Bed Quilts. Ask the visitors if there is even one they'd put on their bed.
