- After three weeks with the Blackview 9000 Pro 5G, the brand's 2024 thermal, rugged flagship, it's time for the TechEdit review, and this thermal imaging phone is not your average budget option. It's a rugged 5G tank packed with features, including a built-in thermal camera, a massive battery that lasts for days, and an impressive 512GB of storage - all for a surprisingly affordable price.
In this TechEdit review, I put the Blackview 9000 Pro 5G to the test, exploring its durability, thermal imaging capabilities, impressive speakers, and overall performance plus hours of Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves gaming. I also delve into its value proposition, considering its unique features and budget-friendly price.
Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a tech geek, or simply someone who needs a phone that can withstand the elements, the Blackview 9000 Pro 5G is worth a closer look.

Super interesting to see there's still brands doing these types of phones for tradespeople. Thermal imaging is a really good shout to include in a rugged phone.
Now that's like a powerhouse. The Blackview BL9000 Pro looks like a beast. Thermal imaging, 50MP cameras, huge battery - this phone has it all with Mediatek Dimensity 8020.
Love the massive battery life of the BL9000 Pro. Two days on a single charge with moderate use is seriously impressive. The Dimensity 8020 seems very power-efficient.
Upgraded from a BV9800 PRO, also with very handy thermal camera, that I've owned the past 2.5 years.
I have not completely moved over to the new BL9000 PRO, but all seems fine at this stage, EXCEPT for that horrible flap that closes the USB charging port. The BV9800 PRO was MUCH better in that respect.
I'm not sure if I'll be using the 120W charger regularly, as I don't believe that can be good for the battery.
Time will tell if I love the new phone more... Oh, and sorry, nearly forgot, very nice review and seemed very balanced - Well done!
i have the 9800 pro too, and i need to change, do you feel confortable with the bl9000pro? would you recomand me to buy this one?
Thinking about buying this phone
Loved ur video. The smooth performance of blackview would not be compromised with the amazing mediatek chip
See through walls (almost)! Blackview BL9000 Pro's Thermal Camera lets you spot hidden heat - perfect for adventurers & DIY warriors. I think the Dimensity 8020 seems very interesting in terms of the performance
thanks for the Review .
I have the old one BV9800 and really the quality of parts is bad the front camera stops 2 Months later and the phone screen broke second day I bought falling from me to the ground And the speakers stops after one year . but the good thing about this phone is only call Recording and Thermal Camera when I compare it with my other new phone DOdgee v20 The BV9800 wins
@123heraz oh no, sorry you had such a bad experience! I am using this phone daily, but mainly for testing phone temperatures and it's still working great. Hopefully the durability has improved. Basil
The Blackview BL9000 Pro powered by mediatek is the ultimate rugged smartphone for outdoor enthusiasts! Its durability is unmatched, and the thermal camera is a game-changer.
This is 🔥!
Saya ingin hasil uji thermalnya dihutan untuk mencari hewan tikus, burung di dalam semak, rumput, alang-alang
Some details of these chinese brands: Ulefone, Doogee, Oukitel, they are all the same.
NO software support nor guarantee.
You can buy an USB-C FLiR camera that is way better than this and you can buy a rugged case to any smartphone.
Thanks for the comment, I reference the limited software support at 13:18, but any additional context you can give for potential customers is greatly appreciated. Have a great day. Basil
The silver lining re software support is that it comes with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery is available...so more powerful custom roms can be built for it for years to come
@@jayrome8764 yes, thats 100% true but nevertheless its something to consider if they ship hardware with bugs which happens
@@jayrome8764 Aye someone gets it
Also most USB-C FLIR attachments cost almost 1/3 as much as this phone does if not more
thermal imaging seriously? for what use ?
That totally depends on you. Professional tradespeople like plumbers and electricians could benefit from it, and I actually used it on my cat, it can help make sure an infection hasn't spread (on an animal or human), and also find where drafts are coming in through an opening in a window or door. That said, for many it won't be valuable, naturally. Hope that helped! Basil
Thermal imaging is used to look for bad electrical connections
Aliens & ufos and cheating partners . Ever have your pets creep out and like something is in the room or feel chills like theirs something watching you but it’s just you can’t see it 😅. Go camping wondering what that sound is in the woods 😱 . Getting home to your spouse after a long day at work and the bedrooms off the charts 🥵🤬🧐🤪
There's only about a million uses.
Ridiculous comments, what's that good for?
I just use it to make me feel like I am in a *Predator* movie;
