    I stumbled upon your videos Tom, after seeing you recently in a video with Kirby Allison. You provide a brilliant explanation on different types of cloth. P.S. the L.A. gentleman that got the great price - wow, what beautiful cloth! Cheers

    The problem with British wool is that when you visit a reputable tailor and he shows you the bolts and books, it’s like being in Aladdin’s Cave! It’s so hard to choose sometimes.

    Mr Mahon, A fantastic video as always. I feel that people do not understand the need to choose the correct fabric for the time of year, would it be possible to produce a video explaining this. Many thanks in advance John.

    Thank you so much, really loving these videos! I have yet to try Finmeresco but I intend to do so. Standeven Explorer is my current favourite. The Tropicalaire is also great but I noticed that there is some overlap between the two bunches. I'd choose the Explorer as far as possible especially because as far as I am aware it is cheaper than other English high twists. Merino Brothers also has some excellent high twists from Alfred Brown that are available in Greater China and elsewhere; heard good things about their high twists and have a suit commission in progress.

    Your descriptions are great, but a little frustrating that we don't get some good close-ups of the fabrics.

    • @savilerowtales
      @savilerowtales  4 місяці тому +1

      We're glad you enjoyed a good part of the video. We've had comments both ways about the length of our videos being too long and too short. So we do currently choose to keep some of the close ups of the cloth shorter than the rest.
      If you're looking for greater detail of the cloth and to be able to see it closer, we would recommend going directly to the cloth merchants website, they have a great page for most of the cloths with a lot more detail too.
      Thanks for watching.

      Thank you. Velvet is always fun :0 Needle boards, yes but we don't use them. Always cover with a light canvas for pressing and be careful of the steam cutting the pile.High pressure steam can be lethal. Best, Tom.

    In the UK there is a large selection of 100 percent wool fabrics, here in the States it is basically all blends and/or lightweights. Being Autistic, in general, I find these blends to be uncomfortable and prefer studier cloths (so can take years of being enjoyed, my Opa's 1940s suit looks new). I am having trouble finding suppliers who ship to the States. Per chance know any resource?
    Thanks in advance.
