And Sephiroth himself could easily have spoken about Aerith with Zack prior to his original death, and that's without factoring in all the stuff like how Sephiroth and Aerith are likely pulling details of the future from the lifestream.

When he asks us for help the 3rd time, both Cloud and the player will say yes. That's a nice way of putting us in check. If Aerith didn't get the White materia back, I think it would be a checkmate.
