Original release was poppy af to piss off Gyllenhaal since he loves Indie and would shit on her pop stuff, she wanted it so poppy it would get mega radio play and he wouldn't be able to escape it... she's petty sf sometimes and we all wish we could do it too!

I'm so glad you liked this!!! Just a fun fact, Taylor's lead guitarist is called Paul Sidoti and has been playing with her at almost every show since 2006 when she started out!!! This was just a version of the song for the tour that isn't available on streaming, it's normally much more pop. The "we" is generally accepted to be the same guy as all too well, Jakey G himself 👀

It's said that she wrote this (original pop version) because Jake Gyllenhaal (👿) has said he didn't like pop music, so she wrote the most annoyingly pop song she could, knowing that he would have to hear it everywhere. I do love me some petty Taylor. 🤣🤣

This performance is what cemented me as a lifelong fan. Her band is phenomenal. Backup singers are also top tier. But it truly shows her musical prowess and every time she announces a new album, I hope that it's a rock album.

Omg when I tell you I clicked SO fast when I saw you uploaded this. This is the reason Swifties are literally shrieking for Tayor to do a rock album. She is so overwhelmingly versatile it is hard to even process. She has said she makes her songs with the story and meaning in mind, so that she always can do whatever production she wants over it and have it be a song her fans love. Aside from being such a great performer and lyricist, she is undeniably clever.
You heard a lot of rock songs of her but you MUST hear Haunted from Speak Now (Taylor's Version), it always reminds me of Dio and other classic rocks, maybe you desagree, let me know, I'm very anxious to see how you will react to that! Taylor was in the studio working on a song with her producer friends Jack and Aaron. When suddenly one of the workers jumped in to inform Taylor that Gyllenhaal was sending her another message. That's when she got upset "No! We're never ever getting back together" and she started working on that song instead. They finished it shortly afterwards

The original is a pop bop from my favorite album of hers where she still had some country undertones but was starting to experiment with pop a bit more.

She is the most accomplished entertainer I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to…her song writing is JUST SPECTACULAR!! Her LIVE PERFORMANCES are amazing because she’s so relentless & talented…🎉 I HOPE YOU CAN SEE HER LIVE PERFORMANCE (that’s from her current tour) of “Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me” on her TTPD - YOU REALLY NEED TO REFLECT on this song…WOW 🎉

I’d love you to react to dear John from speak now and then would’ve could’ve should’ve from midnights , both are about John Mayer who she has a brief “relationship” (aka grooming!) when she was 19 and he was 32. Dear John was written at the time and WCS was written 13 years later - when she herself was the age John was when they dated.
Definitely check out "Haunted" performed live from her Speak Now Tour...it is amazing and will spotlight how much thought she put into her tours even when she was much younger, and it gives the same rock feel.
This is definitely a whole reimagining. I've never heard it before so I'm guessing it's just for the tour. There's a whole spoken word bridge she cut out of this version so I definitely recommend looking up Taylor's Version (either on your own time or as like a comparison reaction) to hear how it normally is.
Go back & watch the original version so you'll have something to compare it to. Both are killer.

It’s a reimagining of the song specifically for the 1989 world tour ( her fifth album was titled 1989 ) the original Version of the song is from her 4th studio album, called “Red” and is more of a pop version. Oh and “We” is Jake Gyllenhaal.
I don’t think anyone commented the person but it’s about Jake gyllenhaal the actor !!!
Fan fact: this song is actually just a spontaneous rant 😂 she was in the studio with Max Martin and someone came in and said he heard she’s back together with her ex and she said no we’re never ever getting back together like ever! And she kept repeating it to Max when the guy left and Max said let’s work this into a song 😂

I think you’ll like all of those, as they’re very emotionally charged and are very hype!
