Bc too many men have just written off her and other artists who are primarily loved by women and girls as just cheap musicians who aren't all that great. And hearing a man not doing that is healing a wound a lot of us have...
I feel like the reason why us swifties love watching people reacting to her songs and appreciating her is because this hasn't happened before. Like we've been screaming since Speak now how poetic she is but noone listened. Now all of a sudden people are noticing and talking about her and realising her mastery in her art. This recognition makes us happy because lets be honest, THIS WAS LONG OVERDUE.
@@Mel-jl8dt Legit. I'm ngl. I started listening to her since folklore too but like now i realise that her pop non singles have amazing lyrics TOO. Noone pays attention to them.

As a fellow metalhead who is also a swift fan, she is so much more metal than most give her credit for, and it’s so cool to see another metalhead get that
Also, it’s amazing how well her songs can be covered by metal and punk/emo rock bands to perfection, which kinda just shows the genius of her writing and how hard her music goes. But you can also strip it all back to just be a piano or guitar and it’s still so powerful. It’s incredible.
I've been a swiftie since day one. I was also born in 1989 so we literally went through every life stage at the same time.. She's put words to things I've been battling my whole life which inherently has been healing AF.. but watching men objectively react to her art has been more healing than I could've possibly imagined. Thank you for respecting her as an artist. I watch a lot of these videos and RARELY comment, so just know for every grateful Swiftie commenting, there are probably also at least 5 more watching and sharing the same gratefulness. Regardless what media has said about us "Swifties", we are seriously the most loving fan base and soooooo excited anytime anyone gives her a FAIR chance.. something she hasn't really been allowed most of her career. So, even if it's a short time for your review, we are SOOOO GLAD you are here and you are welcome ANY time you choose to visit -- but welcome and encourage you to stay

I LOVE seeing someone who’s generally into totally different music give other things a chance too. Also, this song is about Matty Healy from the 1975. He chased her for ten years. Great band tbh!
Thank you! I've been intending to do this for about a year but my self consciousness got in the way. It still takes a lot to overrule that tbh. But you guys have all made me more comfortable than I thought possible tbh
Next project for the channel is a title card and intro music. Guess i have to learn how to edit now! Thanks to everyone who spends some of their time watching my crappy little videos.
I'm subscribing to your channel bc you dissect Taylor's poetry. Plus you rewind a few seconds when you come back from pausing, which reduces my anxiety
IM IN LOVE WITH YOUR REACTION AND IMPECCABLE COMMENTARY. this rly was like showing a dad friend my fav song and hearing all the validation that its genuinely great but also u understand how the production plays such a big role. Everything about this song is intentional even the end how it all comes to a point and conclusion, and ends naturally on a single note with no fade out or anything bc it’s such a mic drop moment like UGH
Message delivered, right? My first time hearing it, I was like "Oh this is a sleepy one, it won't be a favorite for me..." and then we got to that bridge, lol. I should've known! lol LOve your reaction.
6:11 "There's no room to breathe in here.." ^^^ TRULY 💯😩 Every section of that bridge is like a firing squad- taking its turn on the heart.. like a set of cannons blasting, one after the next, with the final note sinking the ship⚓ Almost equal parts devastating, vindicating, & beautiful
You earned another sub!!! It's about time that people embrace music they're not used to. And as a man, it doesn't make you less of one if you enjoy a Taylor Swift song. I personally enjoy pop and alternative, but when I listened to artists like Escape The Fate, I enjoyed it so much especially when I went to one of their concerts. The mosh pit was a shock, but 15 minutes in, I'm joining the circle and just enjoying every minute.
Loved your commentary on this! It showed up in my recommended feed, and can't wait to watch your other videos on the album! I'm very into Taylor Swift's music specifically for the poetry and songwriting, and this album delivered, for sure!
this was my first marriage. He was twisted and sick and damaged me more than I can put into words. I just didn't have a platform to scream at the sky about it, she does, and GO TAY GO!
Love the pauses, i think that they were in the right moments except when the bridge was starting but it was still great, just a tip, with Taylor the bridges normally come after the second chorus, so if you notice a crescendo then its probably the bridge, so if you are going to pause it before the bridge i would recommend to go back a few seconds to start the bridge. Loved your reaction!

In one of your videos you said you liked the 80s synth. (I think Fortnight). So if you want to throw a different artist in here I'd suggest reacting to Chappell Roan, 'Good Luck, Babe'. It's new but so nostalgic sounding and fun!
She’s talking about a man she dated who was a herion addict. She tried to love him out of it, but he was messy and nearly dragged her name over his slop I think “stabbed me with you push pins” means his heroin addiction hurt her by loving drugs more than her
This is about Matty but he is no longer a drug addict/addicted to heroin, he has been sober for 5 or 6 years now. He stills drinks and smokes weed but isn't on heroin anymore. Also "stabbed me with your push pins" clearly means he had posters of her on his wall or treated her like taxidermy
This is just not factual at all. He had a heroin problem when they met 10 years ago - but has been clean for a long time. According to some of the other songs, their relationship broke down due to the behaviour of her fans and him deciding to prioritise his own mental and physical health. There are also references to him saying 'it's over.' so it seems he didn't ghost her exactly - he just refused to engage in discussion after the fact.

This is a classic Taylor bridge. Her bridges are renowned for being lethal.
she wrote the body of the song in 7/8 time - and then gut-punches you by switching to 4/4 "common time" for the devastating bridge! IT'S MASTERFUL
THATS WHAT IT IS. THATS THE WORDS TO THE FEELING
I love the change up, so impactful

I don't think anyone was ready for that bridge.
