I’m on my 9th ketamine session. It has completely changed my life for the better! I’ve had 2 really hard sessions where I’ve died during the session, but there’s experiences are the ones I get the most healing from after. People need to learn to trust the process, it gets better as you go along. Great tips!
@@kodak6164He's referring to ego death, which apparently feels like dying and is somewhat common. Besides, if it was a physical death, there's no way that the clinic would be allowed to proceed with treatment.
@@themacocko6311 I’ve had 27 iv sessions and now I do it at home under Dr supervision. Most clinics administer 6, and see where the patient is at. My husbands 6 year old grandson was murdered when I was 4 months into therapy, so Ketamine was what allowed me to get my husband and my 7 year old son through this difficult time, while allowing me the space to grieve myself in a healthy manner, and not stay trapped in a depressed state.
I really appreciate your content. Thank you for providing it so generously. I am about a year into ketamine therapy, I started with infusions and now I am on a sublingual regimen. I was an early, then late responder... kind of all over the place for a few months until I understood how it could uniquely work for me. I think that's a big thing too, because it's so specific people respond to treatments in so many different ways, and because it's so novel we only have a few standard methods of treatment. I'm very appreciative and supportive of the IV method, and I want to thank you for providing this information so clearly, that I believe will help many people in the future. I can see your enthusiasm and sincerity about the treatment and getting it out there and helping people and I just want to say thank you because a lot of doctors give up on people, or don't think outside the box, or help patients learn how to heal in conjunction with medical treatment, but then there are always a few who really change lives. You obviously got into medicine for the right reasons and the mental health world and youtube community are better for having you share your knowledge, it is inspiring and beautiful. Thank you.
🎶 Can I get a witness!? 🎶 Dude! Thank you! I’m on the waitlist for Esketamine treatment with KP. Apparently they don’t coach you other than, “make a good playlist” I am using JOYOUS in the meantime and that’s how I found your videos, in wanting help to set an intention to use with the low-dose oral troche. Thank you for your content, I will be encouraging folks who have been going through the same challenges as I have to explore Ketamine for their healing and will send them to your channel 😊
Thank you for these videos. They are so helpful. I had my first hard session and these videos have helped me set intentions and relax through the process.
Thank you Dr. Ko! This video really helped me today. So grateful! I am getting the Esketamine but in my last session I got scared and it was unpleasant. For today's session I was able to remember witness, breath, surrender and it made all of the difference! It gave my worried, scared mind something to do and focus on so it wouldn't have to worry whether it was doing the Ketamine session correctly or not. Also when I felt very disconnected from my body, the breathing reminded me that my physical body was safe and I was still connected to it, which made me feel safe to stay with the Ketamine experience happening in my mind. In the beginning, I was having trouble remembering the last tool (surrender) but I was able to be ok that I couldn't remember it and then when it came back to me I had to laugh that I had surrendered my need to know the tool surrender. When I felt some worry, I also repeated to myself that I am trusting that the Ketamine will do what it is supposed to do. I can trust in the overall goodness of the Universe. Thank you for giving us the gift of all of these videos Dr. Ko. 🎁😇
Hi Dr. Ko! First off, you are absolutely amazing. I love your videos. So so informative. I appreciate them very much. Do you have any "favorite" playlists or music recommendations to use during treatment?
Thank you for your kind words! I recommend avoiding music with words, and is relaxing and soothing. If you have Spotify, you can find several playlists that have been created for ketamine treatments. We also have a blog written on music during ketamine therapy here www.resetketamine.com/blog/2019/4/14/does-music-impact-the-ketamine-experience or check out our video on this topic ua-cam.com/video/6ADcyeFHwxo/v-deo.html
Very good as always. Yes, go with the flow and just see where it takes you. I always feel a bit profound during ketamine and think I can solve some great puzzle; not that I have yet. I can see why creative or religious people would engage with this experience.
I am on my 6th infusion for intractable pain. What the ketamine has done for me is it has allowed my pain meds to work again! I have had trigeminal neuralgia. After the gamma knife I got osteoporosis in my top left teeth area and lost all my top teeth. Also during one of the rhizomes, I got anesthesia Dolorosa. Believe or not though ketamine is the first real relief that I have had. After the beginning, I am going every other week. The doctor said we are working on once a month. Does this sound right to you?
I saw strange things and disconnected from myself but I didn’t gain any new insights. If I wanted to go anywhere I had to steer. When I didn’t choose to steer, I stayed right there in the chair. I’ve had two so far.
I think you just opened your eyes to what your hung up on. You have to be able to steer yourself for anyone to want to help you take the wheel when you can’t
Dr. Are you a client of another doctor who helps you suffer less? I ask because I find that the best doctors that suffer are the best treatment doctors for ketamine . Thank you
I’m wondering how many milligrams everyone’s taking and the route. I’m on my 9th session, taking in about 86mg via nasal Spravato per treatment. I don’t really feel much difference. Maybe I need to do it IV 😊 Thank you
I do IV, It’s based on your body weight the dose, but I am on 1.2mg currently which is a bit high for mental health dose, but I didn’t respond much to the lower dose. This is my second round so fingers crossed. Average dosing is about 0.5mg, but dosing is confusing because it’s different via IV.
I got my first infusion and on the same day it seemed to help a little with anxiety etc. but the next day I suddenly got extreme dpdr/dissociation(which I already suffer with)and anxiety. It’s now 3 days later and haven’t gotten better.. I don’t know what to do when I’m suffering severely 24:7 and don’t want to take anti-depressants. I hoped this would help but it made it worse and don’t know if I should take round 2??
Hi...STAY WITH IT....make sure to use AMBIENT music with headphones, set an intention and make sure the environment is calm and comfy.....I had a similar experience and it got better and better......MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE DR HOW YOU FEEL.
@@heytherenordic7230 Anxiety takes a while to get under control......Ketamine needs to be used at the right dose, in the right environment and with the right intention....everyone is different.....my anxiety is over 50% better but it takes time
It's not possible to tell if someone should stick with it or not. I guess all we can do is share our experiences, and hopefully it will be useful to you. I have had some challenging experiences during infusions, but I managed to navigate them with mindfulness meditation and, in the end, these experiences were extremely important to my healing process. It takes practice to to navigate psychedelic trips properly, so it's normal to find it overwhelming. That's why I'd recommend, in addition to the content of this video, a regular mindfulness practice, to set a clear intention beforehand and maybe some pleasant music, if it's your thing. Also remember to sleep and eat adequately during your treatment, and exercise regularly. Your mind gets amplified on psychedelics, I can't stress enough how important preparation is. Mindfulness of the breath is indeed a good strategy when things get shaky.
@@fe4000 I completely agree.....well said. What I meant to say is that one infusion is usually not enough to see if it will help long term. Some infusions are wonderful and some are challenging. The neural plasticity and brain healing effects of ketamine are the most important factor. The research is getting better and better. If you want some good studies or articles, I will email to you..... BEST!!
Just had my 3rd infusion yesterday. Oh my god there's literally no way to describe it other than pure bliss. Still haven't seen my mom and I believe that is what I need. Any tips?
