I have the polymer model. I use it quite often as my conceal carry. I shoot it much better than my Glocks. If you use a flat base plate mag it's about the same size as a Glock 19.

The Jericho 941 really has a nice look. It looks simple and rugged, yet is very elegant.

The Colt 1911 has always been my favorite handgun. Until I bought and spent time with the Jericho 941 .45ACP full steel model. Highly recommend
My brother picked up one of these up the other week, one of the most comfortable guns I've ever held. It just fit perfectly in my hands
I purchased a baby Eagle new back in 1993 and it is still in my collection today. It is super accurate and one of my favorite semi autos. Accessories for the gun are difficult to find but not impossible. Houge makes a nice set of rubber grips for the baby eagle, but I wish VZ would come out with some! Great video Sootch00!
They should make one in 10mm to replace the dead .41 AE
On the website they have magazines for a .40 S&W but they don't have a .40 model gun.. I found that kind of odd.. I have a feeling a 10mm may be on the drawing board. If so it would make this gun stand out. This in 10mm would definitely be a return of the 10mm.
Atlanta Light they do make a 40sw model and a 45acp
10mm is making a comeback and 10 in full steel would draw some attention.
I used to own the .40 cal Baby Eagle back in the 90s. It was very nice. I seen a couple newer ones at a local gun shop that were the polymer model not long ago.
What... Bro get some knowledge. The hottest 10mm load is equal to the lowest 41 AE round. 41AE has higher performance and more proven damage then the 10mm. I load my own 41 AE and i get way better velocity and penetration then I get with any of my 10mm rounds.

No kidding... that's cool.
As was mine, back when magnum research imported them. Had it in .45 acp. I LOVED how it felt and it shot smoothly, but it had serious reliability issues. Very finicky with ammo, and would jam and even just not fire when it was cold. Maybe it was a one off, but I got rid of it because of those issues.
I'm deciding between this pistol or S&W 686. I know it's comparing apples to oranges , but still I think I will get both, just not sure where to start. As a proud Glock owner I want to start exploring other options.

Buddy bought one of the Magnum baby eagles 15-20 years ago. We always called it the Jericho tho. Pre rail version, all prompted by CowboyBebop. Smooth shooter

I purchased one of these as a surplus from Classic firearms. By far it's my favorite pistol I've shot. Feels fantastic and the weight is perfect. Highly recommend this gun!

Spike's 941 was a first gen with the slide mounted safety and no rail. Also his had customized grips. But I've wanted this gun since I watched Cowboy Bebop the first time. Maybe I'll have one some day #whateverhappenshappens

Allen mcdowell how is the recoil impulse with the .45 ACP? How would you compare the gun overall to a 1911?
When i saw this pistol in Transporter 2, it was love at first sight.
Thank you for the brief comparison between the Jericho and the SP01. Trying to decide between the two and that helped the decision become a little easier.
The first centerfire handgun i ever fired was my dad's baby eagle 9mm with decocker/safety. Heavy but the weight helps mitigate some of the recoil energy. He's sold it to a buddy of his in Oregon though. Good memories.

I've had my IWI Baby eagle 45acp for more then 10 years and it's still my go to for comfort and accuracy. All around great gun for all shooters.

I think that is truly AWESOME that IWI listened .... because some like it one way vs. the other. NICE to have a CHOICE !!
Great review! I consider the substantial weight a "pro" rather than a "con." Our Canadian imports have the slide-mounted decocker-safety, which a lot of people don't like because it further limits the already-sparse slide serration space.

I love this pistol (J941F9)... Shoots so well! It is well made, well balanced, and is a perfect fighting pistol with its light light recoil and hefty weight.
I own one in .40 short and weak.
Best shooting, best handling handgun that ive ever used. And Sootch isnt kidding about the trigger. Fantastic.

When you added that it is as smooth and easy as a Beretta 92, that answered several questions I had. Looking for an all steel, full size pistol my wife can shoot easily. She loves her Glock but struggles sometimes with chambering.
I have one, and I love it. Found it in a pawn shop with the original case with all the bells and whistles.
Both great guns but I'm a CZ SP01 man.
I own the safety version of SP01 and it is by far the most comfortable, accurate and reliable auto handgun I've ever had the pleasure to shoot.
I conceal carry mine and I'm 5'9", 180 lbs low across my back, horizontal carry "craft holster" I love this pistol, my favorite full size combat pistol I own. Yes, it's heavy, but it's heavily awesome, my trigger action is buttery smooth, upgraded the sites and put an OD Green cerakote finish on it. My ex-girlfriend who is only 5' 1" loves hers as well, so if she can get her hands around it you can handle it as well.

Mike S do you have the version with the decocker or the ones that IWI are producing for the US market? If so are you carrying it round int he chamber DA mode?
Neither, mine is the version that was produced overseas, which is the previous version to the current one in the US with the safety, no de-cocker. Mine doesn't have the mounting rail for lights or lasers, which I prefer, cleaner look. I carry mine DA, however, I can also carry it in SA, with the safety on. You can as well put the gun in DA mode, hammer down and still activate the safety as well. I personally recommend the safety version as it offers options and typically de-cocker models don't have triggers that are as good as guns with only safeties. Plus, a Jericho has a very small slide, since its recessed into the frame, so racking the slide is a little bit tougher and with the decocker on the slide doesn't make it any easier, plus IMHO it doesn't look as nice to me. Also, this gun is heavy but its a dream to shoot, soaking up recoil, so its perfect for shit hit the fan scenarios and a full day at the range.
Mike S thanks! Good to know. I have the mid size polymer version and I like it a lot. Not having a decocker freaks me out a little, but been going to the range and getting used to putting it to DA and practicing it that way.
Mike S I prefer the old smooth look without the picatinny rail. I'm looking up your holster now. I want this gun but I'll have to get the new one but at least the new ones come with night sights.
Oh man, I MISS MINE!!! I can still feel the feel of the grip and weight in my hand. That feel of the safety switch being disengaged with my thumb. The feel once the loaded mag is slammed into the magwell, it's weight.... OOOHHH and the snap of that trigger pull. Man I miss it.
Now I have to buy it again.

I got into handguns after graduating hs in ‘85. First gun was a 10/22 and shortly after that, a Tec-22 (It went into 3 round bursts when warmed up, lol). Anyway I was reading lots of gun magazines back then, and this pistol was all over the place. This cartridge (and another new strange one called the .40S&W) was all the rage. I personally saw no point, but anyway. A buddy who was in the market for a full-sized pistol asked my opinion, and I recommend the Jericho. He loved it and still has it to this very day. Btw, my own first large handgun purchase was the Springfield P9, which was based on the cz as well. It was a great handgun, and I deeply regret getting rid of it. Best wishes, everyone.
I have an old school baby eagle in 9mm with a slide safety without the rail. One of my favorite range pistols because of the weight and accuracy. Not my first choice for carry, but a great handgun.
Had some decent headphones in watching this.. you can hear how smooth these guns must be. They sound really slick.

Not the exact pistol , IMI Jericho not IWI . IMI has no rail also spikes was the slide decocker veraion though IMI has the frame safety version too thats the one i got

My first handgun. Still love it. My dad bought one years ago when they first came out and I always thought it was a cool gun. I just had to have one. Loved it so much I found one in stainless steel chambered in 45acp and bought that too. Lol

I have the first version baby eagle 45 ACP from 2004 and its my Dads personal gun. It has the IMI LOGO on the frame and grips. My Cusion has the old 9mm fill size and he just bought the new version compact 9mm too. Thanks for this awesome review Sootch00, these are truly military guns. Long live the Republic

Do not get the one in .45 acp.
I have it and it's probably one of the least fun guns I have to shoot. The recoil spring feels weak and feels like the slide is beating the gun up. The double action trigger pull on this thing is also atrocious. It's the heaviest DA trigger i've ever fired.
It's also one heavy pig.
If you get one, i wouldn't suggest carrying it...or even using it for home defense.

THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER INFORMATIVE VIDEO. I've actually recently picked up a IWI Baby Eagle with the slide mounted safety which I prefer and I didn't notice any problem with the trigger because of the safety. Mine came with a pleasing contrast blue G10 grips. Keep up the GOOD WORK.😉😁👍

First pistol I bought and I absolutely love it. It was a older model that didn’t have the rail under the barrel 😕

I got to try one of these. Seems like a nice pistol, but it is rather heavy. If I owned one, it would make a good home defense pistol, but I would never carry it. Just too darn heavy.
As many have stated, very popular in the anime Cowboy Bebop. This is not exactly the same version of the pistol though. Spike used one with a slide mounted safety imported to the US by KBI Inc in PA, serial number 003555 with custom laser grips. Who ever has that one particular gun can probably sell it for a good chunk of change, ha.

My first pistol (still have it) is a IMI(Israel Military Industries)/Magnum Research Baby Eagle... full frame, short slide, frame safety........ love, love, love that pistol..... shoots like a dream with zero malfunctions after at least 10,000 rnds now.
I think the Jericho is the most beautiful handgun ever, bar none, hands down, end of story.
Only handgun that tops it for me is the FN57
I was at a gun show in 1995. Before the plastic ties. I must have picked up every pistol in the place. After about an hour. I pick up the baby Eagle. It fit my hand so well! It was a 9mm too. Till I looked at the price. I was looking for my first handgun. I bought the Sig 239 for $535.00. 8 shot because of Clinton was going to make all pistol' s 10 rds or less. I wish I would have bought the Jericho " Baby Eagle". What a awesome gun. Shawn

I have been a long time viewer and I love your reviews and suggestions. You sold me on the 941 and I already have an original Baby Desert Eagle in .45. I just wish there were better holster options and maybe rubber grip panels.
IWI should chamber and sell the pistol in 10mm and I'd gladly purchase. It's flat out too big for 9mm-45acp.

Very nice review..I often don't watch a gun review that's 18 minutes, but this was put together very well. I'm looking my next full size pistol, and at first was thinking the SP-01 since I have the CZ 75D Compact for CC, which I love, but was going back and forth with a Beretta 92 (FS or A1), and was leaning towards the Beretta since I don't have one yet. But something keeps drawing me to this Jericho.
I have the old school IMI jericho 941 F H3 9mm that came with the 41 AE barrel. I love it so much.

I've had one of the original 941 kits since the early 1990's and love shooting it. Have about 300rds of the 41ae brass and a set of dies for reloading. it's more like shooting a 40 S&W than 10mm.
the police department back where I'm from is trying to shift from Sig to this pistol for it's local LEO. I think there's a lot of good thought to that.
This gun is an overbuilt brick shithouse. I will own one. Ultimate apocalypse gun.

I picked up the polymer version...really sweet shooter. The trigger is even nicer than the one on my Sig P226 which I'm attributing to the lack of a de-cocker. Saw it at PSA for $379 and couldn't resist. I don't regret my purchase one bit.
