@@bbishop2009 thanks for this comment! Come to think of it, I haven’t yet used the alarm or hours chime, but the beep of mode switching is nice! I’ll feature the alarm sound in the complete review. Thanks again!
I already have an a168w, a w59 and an a1000 that I adore, but you made me fall in love with this a158 with its refined dial...I've just placed an order! 🤭watches you don't need are the most indispensable watches🤭 So I don't know if I should thank you, but I will anyway: Thank you ! have a nice weekend, see you soon, Sylvain.
@@luigirofartsylvain266 oh, I feel you. I don’t know if I have to say “je vous en prie“ or “Je suis désolé“ for making you buy another Casio… As I will explain in the dedicated review, I fell in love with this particular a-158 after watching a review on a Japanese channel. So I identify with your situation ! Let me tell you that since I got this watch, I haven’t worn any other watch, except for g-shocks when I needed water resistance. I really love looking at the time , it’s such a beauty! Merci pour cette commentaire!
Hahaha! The Casio cult. Very classy addition! I like the dial color! I feel you haha! My shoes dont get replaced nearly as much as my watches. Enjoy your weekend Pete!
Despite my will, this watch has seen more wrist time than any other, since I unboxed it. Apart from switching to a G-Shock for more "watery" occasions, this A-158 has been all I've worn for the past few days. Have a great weekend you too Johan!!!
That thingy is called a watch stand, and by my experience it's one of the best watch thingies ever...at least for me, my thingy which was in the box together with the DW5600 is one of the best thingies ever, it looks very similar I must say. At my about 35-40 years old Casios a month was very visible but at the modern Casios that's not the case, no month? With so much ''property'' at the screen there's no place for a month???? At the thing that should show the time? That's a bit poopish. good video
You're right: it's the watch stand! As I was shooting, the word "display" kept coming to mind, but it just didn't sound right. Indeed, the DW5600: a great classic that I don't own yet. I have other g-shock squares, but not that one. Yes, there is room for the month in this display... But let's say that without month it's a more "minimalistic" display. Thanks for this comment!!!
does the A158 have a metal case? also if not what casios do have a metal case? i really like the stainless steel look but i dont want a resin case that will get scratched and remove the finish showing the bare resin
I share your concerns. Look for the A-1000 series: these are vintage looking Casios with full steel case. They come in different colors (steel, gold, rose gold,…) and different bracelets. They are a bit pricey. Other than that, there’s a-1100d . Have a look at them. Also, for a lower price there is tha Armitron Rubik, it’s nice and I have a review on the channel. ua-cam.com/video/CCl-NFoYTvE/v-deo.htmlsi=uJu70t6CRy7etCJK Thanks for this comment!
Good watch. I have one and it has a nice cheery alarm sound. And I usually never. It's the hourly chime. Thank you for this review.

amusing and feel-good video, as usual...thank you very much for that 👍🙂
and as a stranglers fan, i can confirm that golden brown exists 😇
Oh, you are SO right! That’s where I got “Golden Brown” from! Of course I’m familiar with The Stranglers.
Thanks for this comment!!!
Nice unboxing video thank you for sharing, looks great
It is a nice, little, inexpensive gem! Thanks for this comment!

Original watch has shiny back plate.....its not.
I compared the back plates of all my Casio cheap watches and this seems pretty similar to the others.
Thanks for commenting.
