FINALLY - I've been trawling articles on how to type accents and you're the only one who has actually preceded the whole 'Type a symbol then the letter' thing with the correct instruction of adding the correct keyboard and removing the old one!!! Thank you so much!!!!
a. ' (apostrophe) + letters a e i o u y c --> adds accent acute or cedilla) --> á é í ó ú ý ç b. ` (accent grave; below tilde) + a e i o u --> adds accent grave --> à è ì ò ù c. " (quotation) + letters a e i o u y --> adds a dieresis [umlaut] --> ä ë ï ö ü ÿ d. ~ (tilde = [shift + ` ]) + letters n a o --> adds a tilde --> ñ ã õ e. I haven't figured out the other diacriticals for German, yet, but I bet they are there.
i'm italian and today i bought a keyboard (american layout), as you can imagine italian language needs the vocals with accent mark and after an half hour of searches i found this tutorial, the ultimate tutorial. You are the only one that helped me.
pro tip: if ur on windows and want to alternate between these quickly, press windows + space. as long as u have more than one keyboard, it'll let you alternate between the different keyboards
Your video saved me! I tried a bunch of French keyboard layout and found them all too complicated and confusing to be practical. The keyboard introduced in your video is really simple and intuitive. I appreciate that.
Thanks for making this video. I’m learning a new language and my keyboard layout is American. It was driving my crazy to copy paste the letters each time when typing. Your video helped a lot.
On Linux, I suggest remapping the scroll lock into compose if you use a US English layout (not international). If you want to type œ for example, type compose + o + e.
I am using an english keyboard, but if I follow the video instructions and then type ctrl + accent nothing happens, it doesn't even type the accent... any suggestions?
Hello thank you for the info do you have any tips for typing ae et oe (comme pour cœur) using US-International language keyboard and a physical QWERTY keyboard?
Like PK Droid said, I have been GOOGLING nonstop for months on how to type the accents on letters for my French learning, and nothing has worked... What a simple solution! Thank you for sharing, you're a lifesaver. :' )
Does this work on Notepad, web pages etc? On Word, I get by with key strokes like Ctrl + , then c to get ç etc but that doesn’t with file names, Notepad etc
Hello, I was wondering how I would be able to type "J'ai" without having to switch keyboards or typing the quotation mark and then having to delete on of the dots. I saw you typed j'écris relatively fast.
that's very cool! Is there a way to change the combination and make it write Italian accents instead of french accents? A sort of remapping this combination
Thank you, this is awesome. It works. Thanks for telling to set the keyboard to US-international first, in order to make it work. But now, how to type accent C?
Finally!! You have no idea how many videos I watched and not one helped! You were the only one that explained that I needed to verify what type of keyword setting I was using. Thank you so much!
There is a coupe of comments guiding to write C / c cedilla in the comment section. I just copy and paste them here Credit to Vauron: For the French cedilla ( ç - Ç ) you can press: [Right Alt] + [ , ] = ç [Shift] + [Right Alt] + [ , ] = Ç Another way credit to K.R.Davidson: Cédille (ç), type ' then c.
Enfin une explication claire, merci!. Ça serait bien d'aller un peu moins vite car c'est dur de suivre et executer en même temps, il faut pauser la vidéo sans arrêt.
Thanks, this helps a lot! However, before watching this video I had this keyboard settings switching randomly. Sometimes it did not work and I had to restart to make it work. I don't know how my setting where back then. I was using french as language and WIN7. Hopefully this does not happen again!
thanks bro. my new boss is from french. and he has an é in her name. also a Norwegian, he has a ø in his name. now I know how to type their names. cheers
Merci! tout le monde m' expliquait qu'il suffisait de taper `puis a, mais cela me donnait `a. Grace à votre vidéo (proposée par Copilot du reste!), j'ai réussi!
Thank you, some good information. The front tick and back tick work, but not the 6 for circonflexe. At least this video helped find the US international keyboard.
For the French cedilla ( ç - Ç ) you can press:
[Right Alt] + [ , ] = ç
[Shift] + [Right Alt] + [ , ] = Ç
Thanks, Vauron!
There's another way also hold this [ ' ] key its nxt to entre key and press *c* = ç

it took me 30 seconds to find this, maybe cuz it had way less views back then

Thanks for making this video. I’m learning a new language and my keyboard layout is American. It was driving my crazy to copy paste the letters each time when typing. Your video helped a lot.
Also an easier way to make é or á or ó is to use the [ ' ] that is next to the Enter key. [ ' ] + [e, a, o]
Figured, thanks anyway!
It just makes éa or aé for me even if i do it so fast
This, it was more helpful than the whole three minute video
What about è à and ò? I cant figure that out
@@jackboy2387 the one key with this symbol `~ and then the letter. so ~` + o : ò
Anyone understand what he was doing at 1:58? Something about hitting a one and then hitting a two...
