I first discovered this one year ago, and found so much inspiration during one of the loneliest times of the Pandemic isolation. Thank you all so much for lighting the way!!
In the darkness I shall see His light and in the shadows I will hear His voice. He shall hide me in the cleft of a rock, when my enemies surround me, He will light a torch. He will pluck me out from a thicket, out of a hole he will lift me. From high water He will rescue me, and set me upon a high rock. Upon His shoulders, the weak and the lame are carried. The old and feeble are ever nearest His side. Out of His right hand He brings forth sustenance and life.
I was up early this morning, reading and enjoying my private time with the Blessed Trinity. I also wanted to sing worship songs and thus, in my search I found this beautiful choir singing this heavenly and divine song that makes me feel so very close to the Father, Son and the Blessed Holy Spirit. I first heard it at St. Paul's Church in Manhattan where I would go for peace and quiet. I purchased the tape in the small store and fell in love with the song even though I am not Catholic. Are we not all God's children? I cannot say how this choir and song have blessed me this morning, in Jesus Name, Amen.
How moving to hear this. Truly, we are all in this together, and I take such comfort by your voices in this moment. The deepest and most true response in this time is to sing and, for people of faith, the best songs in these times are the psalms. Thank you so much, James (& Stephanie and all of you in the choir). Is there any better text in this moment than Psalm 23?
Thank you for taking the time to comment, and for your kind words, Marty. The music is so beautiful, of course, and what you did with the Refrain text was inspired.
Marty, good afternoon from Pennsylvania. I'll tell you one thing. This is such a beautiful song! I heard this song for the first time while attending a Catholic funeral. I also heard this song sung by a woman. I really loved the arrangement. The problem was that one of the verses was left out. I wonder if she recorded the song a second time. The verse I'm talking about talked about the shadow of death. Marty, my wonderful wife passed away in 2016. I'm 65 years old and have been blind since birth. Thank you for reading my reply.
So lovely and enchanted by their sound and the words -
Beautiful!

It's so simple, so deeply and also so beautiful. Thanks for this prayer.
