I had one of these as a curtesy bike a couple of weeks ago, loved it. I'm 6'5" and I found it fairly comfortable even though I probably looked like i was riding a grom.
Good, comprehensive report again, Mark. For anyone looking to get started properly on their first 'big-ish' bike, this machine is certainly a good candidate. Reminds me very much of the trusty old Honda CB400N Super Dream I had way back when dinosaurs roamed about. It taught me a lot, being friendly and confidence inspiring and at 43 odd horsepower, just enough fizz to also have some fun. This latest incarnation will be just the same.
My wife rides and loves the 500cc Rebel , same engine and it's a beauty , so smooth with enough power for long weekend rides with me and my 650 Interceptor here in WA Australia .
Excellent review. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the bike with us. The CB500 looks like a great first bike....though that Z500 also looks pretty good. What a time to get into riding!
Another lovely bike from Honda. Well-proven motor and great looks and features including low seat heignt for added confidence for newbies, with that well earned Honda reliability. There are so many lovely new bikes out there at the moment we really are spoilt for choice. Great video Mark, thanks.
Hi Mark, top vid as always. Though I have to say, naming no names, but when I got and wanted to add stuff to my NC750X DCT, even a Honda dealer said the stock heated grips were not as good as the Oxford ones, I'd have to, and i have, specked the bike to may taste. You can definitely save a few hundred pounds. Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
I had the predecessor to this, the CB500F, cracking bike but too revvy for me and even with an MRA double bubble screen I found the wind blast tiring. Changed it for my much loved NC750X DCT. That little 500 was great fun though on shorter runs.
…the Ford focus of the bike world. And all the better for it. Lifelong Honda fan I had the “original” hornet, with the cbr6 motor in it. Which, is sadly missed. Currently have the ATAS and an RR5 blade in the garage, and ZXR750H2(well 1.5 to be really specific, VERY rare…) I’d add one of these to the stable for the daughter to get to and from college/uni in a couple of years. Thanks Mark, good work. 👍
I used to love my Hornet 600 , this seems to lack a bit of character compared to the old bike , but I'm sure overall it's a better bike. More comfortable and modern .
Interesting review, thanks Mark. I'd love to take one of these for a spin. Here in Ireland, Honda's pricing continues to baffle me. You don't see many new Honda 500's on the road here it seems, as the single-cylinder bikes are offering more value for your money.
G'day Mark, as you know l love the Honda brand and this is why, in the late 80s l bought a 2nd hand CB 750 for a trip around Australia, being away for 16 weeks and traveling 15,500 km that bike ran perfectly only having too replace the back tyre, since then l have had a CB 1000 and never had a breakdown, thanks for the review of another fantastic machine, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
An excellent small(er) bike from Honda…..the CB500 (Hornet). As you say, great little all-rounder, economical, quality construction, easy to maintain…what’s not to like? Lack of character the main thing. Does everything asked of it but simply doesn’t stir the soul. When I was taking out my first 500s for a spin they all had presence, looks and attitude…Ducati Pantah, Guzzi Monza 500, Morini 500 & Z650 et al. Great bike ghe new little Hornet but somewhat lacking compared to those old classic midweights.
If only Honda put a round headlight on this bike and it would be a serious contender for my first bigger bike. Instead I'm drawn towards the 650F among Honda's range.
I ride kwak sx 1000 and used nc750x round Gran Canaria and I was amazed how much fun I had over 7 days with that. Pegs were scraping or my toes on the switch backs mind :)
Well done Mark, excellent as always. Can I request a review on the new 2025 Forza 750 when it comes out and when you can get your hands on one.I quite like scooters these days.I traded in my Tracer 900 three years ago after watching your great review on the 2021 Forza 350.Im looking at going bigger again and the new revised Honda Forza 750 is ringing all the right bells.😀Keep up the great honest reviews
Love the way it looks a UJM sounds like all the bike you really need, smooth engine, gearbox Honda quality. Great test Mark low to high speed and the night ride to see the lighting greatly appreciated. We don’t get the 750 hornet here in the states, I wonder if will get this. At 6600 I’d definitely be interested
Excellent balanced review of a bike Mark, cheers. Although I've got a Classic 350 which is great, I'd have a tough choice between one of Honda's CB500s over the next step up in the RE range such as the Guerrilla!

Cracking little 500 .

I love the 450nk

Yes, the shape of the headlight is critical in the decision to buy a bike 😂😂😂
@ziondanny7081 not the shape, but the effectiveness. I ride all year round and would bin LED pointy light for effective round halogen bulb light.
I also love rounded headlights, but this one is softer and more beautiful than CB 500 F, I think i will buy one 🥹

Add a screen and bags and off you go, this would take you anywhere.
Hi, nice bike but is it just me that think indicators staying orange is dangerous, at a quick glance people think your turning. Good review though
Mark how would you compare this to the guerilla 450 in terms of power, comfort, handling etc?
Hi it's more refined...but power comfort etc about the same

Great review 👍
Hi,does it feel any better than the last model
Hi very similar... little bit of extra get up and go with the ECU updates
The new TFT is great 👍

It's a great bike for physically smaller riders. My frame is just too big.😢
The Guerrilla 450 seems to do everything this does for £1500 less
Same amount power and tork as my Yamaha MT-03 2021 with my AKROPOVIC STRAIGHT THROUGH SYSTEM 😂😂❤❤
