i was really suprised to learn rex's phase 2 hemlmet is more of a 1.5 since its made from both phase one and 2 helmet parts
The same with the rest of his armor
so thats why his helmet is different than others
SSM4 Bloopers Yeah, he liked some parts of the phase 1 armor more than the phase 2 armor because it had better protection
I highly recommend watching "Why Rex had the MOST UNIQUE ARMOR of all Clones" by Eckharts Ladder if you are interested in learning about it.

Fun Fact: In Star Wars Rebels, Rex steals and wears a set of Stormtrooper armor. He eventually takes it off and throws it at his enemies declaring that he can't see anything in the "junk armor."
The tally marks are actually the amount of battles he has survived. That’s why when he says to Ashoka tano rank doesn’t matter, experience is the true equalizer, he can show it.

Wolffe is personally my favorite clone. His helmet is a lot like Rex’s yet it drops down a bit. I also really like the scout trooper helmet tbh

How about the Ghost Shredder from the all-female remake? I've seen several propmakers create ghost traps, and either Evil Ted Smith or Punished Props did a repaint of the Spirit Costumes proton pack.
For the record the “hawk eyes” on Rex’s helmet are called Jaig Eyes, which are a symbol of honor for Mandalorians adopted by the Clone Army.

You could possibly make the rest of Rex’s armor if you wanted to, though I’d recommend the Star Wars Rebels version if you did since it’s only the body and gauntlets of his armor.

I paint a lot of miniatures and model kits and I always wind up holding my breath for straight lines, freehand and small details so I empathize with you.

Man, you have absolutely inspired me to get started on making Clone helmets. Thank you so much for providing us with the free template! I've been looking for a clone trooper helmet template that is specifically made for foam (I've looked at other free Clone trooper templates, most of it are made for papercraft, so they have ridicilously complicated patterns).
To be honest Odin I think this helmet came out a lot better than the mandalorian one. Anyway keep up the good work and remember no matter how silly... always follow your dreams
For the upcoming Doom Eternal , you should definitely make a Doom Slayer helmet, the super shotgun or the BFG. That would be awesome

You should! This was really fun to make.
Quick tip on masking with Painter's tape. Once the area is masked out, go over it with the base color (in this case white). That will prevent your other colors from bleeding under.

well the clone armor I always presumed was purposely based on mando armor since they were cloned from Jango, who yeah isn't Mandalorian but he loves the armor,

He is Mandalorian :) Not a native of Mandalore but a native of Concord Dawn, a planet part of Mandalorian territory.
He *has* been disavowed though by the Mandalorian government lol I can't remember the reason why but they refuse to acknowledge him haha.
Ruben Baumgartner Jango isn’t actually from Concord Dawn. He claims it is home world. When we really don’t know where he’s from as of yet. I honestly and really hope someone writes his back story for Jango so we can get an understanding of who he is. The Mandalorian government see him only as a mercenary.
Mandalorian is a culture, not a nation.

I'm planning a Rex helmet for months, this will help me a lot, I was originally thinking about making a phase 2 helmet, cutting the face plate and gluing a phase 1 face, covering the seams with a sloppy line of hot glue to simulate soldering lines.

You should make the taskmaster helmet/mask from the black widow movie. The trailers show a lot of good close ups of the helmet/mask so I think you could do a great job on that.

Helmet looks great Odin. Next time a project needs realistic welding look, try using a hot glue gun to add welding lines and marks made of glue. Then just paint over the hot glue to make it more realistic. Like adding rust effects etc.
Odin next time you have to make cuts like the range finder with pieces help in place, try using painters tape to help hold them in place, helps a lot.

@@OdinMakes Well, if you do, I can tell you right now that JFCustom's template on the RPF is a much better place to start than the Pepakura template on Instructables.

I really wanna see Obi Wan’s helmet. The one he uses when he is undercover ,and to get onto Mandolore undetected. I think it’s something unique and awesome. Also I’m doing a Obi Wan costume and probably will end up making it just because.

Rex's helmet has pieces of phase one and two, it is the most unique clone armor of the clone wars.
