If you had a very heavy cold when making this recording, Marcus, it does not have a detrimental effect at all on the wonderful artistry in this interpretation and performance of Mendelssohn's gorgeous A major Organ Sonata. The music fits the Armley Schulze perfectly and listening to you play is always a real pleasure. Hopefully, you are now fully recovered and back to good health . . . and working on your next upload. B R A V O !

Very nice to hear this piece on this English beast, which makes it even more romantic than Mendelssohn ever could have imagined. I like the reed sound very much in the first part. Well done, Marcus!

Thanks very much, Ralph. I wonder if Mendelssohn would have approved? I hope so!

Fantastic dear Marcus, for me it is one of the most beautiful organ sonatas by Mendelssohn. Best regards, Roland

Thanks very much, Roland. I like all of Mendelssohn’s music, he’s a great tunesmith - it’s such a shame his life was so short.

Lovely, Marcus. This is a wonderful piece that I got to perform as the recessional to my best friend's wedding in Switzerland on a wonderful 1888 Walcker instrument. I believe you picked a wonderful sample set to record this on and congratulate you on a job well done, especially if you were not feeling great! Thank you for sharing your fabulous performance.

Aw! Thanks so much, Jerry. 😊 It was your recent Stanford Prelude and Fugue which made me think seriously about acquiring Armley - it’s a great organ! I’m sorry I’ve overlooked it for so long.

Finally a longer piece on this amazing channel! Great stuff! I might have to learn this quite soon, been putting it off for too long: any tips to get started?

Excellent performance Marcus. It's always a challenge to record pieces, especially as they get longer and more complex. I'd much rather a real performance than a "CD perfect" one. In saying that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your playing. I hope you get better real soon and I look forward to your next upload.

Very true, James. Even a short piece can be a challenge! It’s funny how I make different mistakes when recording to the ones I make playing live! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks for your kind words.
