Best CHIBA RAMEN - Heavy Hitting and Delicious

- We're visiting two top-ranked ramen shops around Chiba Station. Chiba is the prefecture East of Tokyo. It's a commuter town with plenty of fantastic ramen....but these two stand out among them all.
The first place serves a heavier tonkotsu (pork bone and soy sauce) bowl while the second serves a lighter, more delicate fish forward one.
We also visit a treehouse!

Chiba is such a blind spot for me, since I rarely go out there anyway and also haven't made the effort to travel specifically for ramen to Chiba. Maybe I should change that!
I have just been to Sugitaya in Kanagawa (and made a video!), some people say the Chiba one is better. All I can say is that the one in Kanagawa was fantastic and an easy recommendation in terms of iekei.
yah i think we all need to get more chiba shops on the resume
I feel you - Chiba is so big that it's often a blind spot for me too, although I've been trying to chip away at at the Chiba ramen list more recently. I haven't had Sugitaya in Yokohama! I'm sure if there any differences they're tiny.
Great video! Any upcoming videos about red snapper ramen? Really interested in that
Don't have an upcoming video planned but the video I did with Glen and Friends Cooking (a collab) is up on their channel and we had some red snapper ramen! Unless you already saw that 😊
I felt that Yoshimuraya's ramen really had a lot more Chinese inspired style to it!
For sure! Those charsui are fantastic!
Always looking forward to your uploads!
Thanks so much for watching!
It all looks divine as always. I'm a fan of the wood-ear mushrooms, black fungus etc. I know that the texture can be a little challenging for some, especially if in large, under cooked/hydrated chunks, but well prepared I do enjoy it.
I used to make a pasta dish (tagliatelle in a sauce of creme fraiche with shredded wood-ear musrooms, fine diced sautéed brown onions, and black pepper, it was a favourite for many years.
I'm with you - even though wood-eat mushrooms aren't something I go out of my way to eat, I love mushrooms as a whole for all the reasons you mentioned, including for those textures. That pasta dish sounds of yours just as divine as any of the ramen in the video 😊
Frank, Chiba is sooo neglected on YT (except for disney).Loretta did a nice vid on Narita town but there is not a lot, and I feel there are a lot of immigrants there and a very thriving mixed culture gestating in the background.
Well said! Chiba deserves more attention and I hope to highlight Chiba more in future videos. Will have to watch Loretta's video - thanks for the heads up 😊
Another great video. Thank you Frank!
Thank you for watching!
👍🍜
Oh hey...what is white soy sauce?!
A soy sauce that uses more wheat than soy beans!
Daaankkk almost 1day late to watch this new vids 😭😭
Haha, that's OK - still right on time as far as I'm concerned.
@@5AMRamen nah fam, I usually hit your video around 5mins to 5hour, 23 hours is a disgrace to me 😂😂😂
good stuff!!!
Thank you for watching!
5 am burger?!
Breaking the ramen rules 😊
The kikurage also intrigued me but it was worth the fun of watching your facial expression of question mark while eating it 🤭.
The lovely tree house atmosphere deserved a little more time! Maybe a background status 🤗
Haha, yes, a big question mark on my face, but one that turned into a face of appreciation 😊
And yes, I should have shown more treehouse footage!
@@5AMRamen Indeed! I can relate to that! I guess eating kikurage always makes me feel like that somehow 🤭
Subbed from GNF, love ramen and your deep dive into it. Great video; the wide variety of possibilities are incredible. As a staple for my kids, it's wonderful to experience it through your lens.
Thanks so much for coming aboard and for the kind words! Ramen is a fascinating dish and I'm glad you and your kids feel the same way!!
