I just love Sharapova's forehand down the line to the forehand, she has great footwork and hits it with great depth and accuracy. For me, it's the hardest shot to hit when you're nervous and you can pull off it and hit it short or shank it if you mistime it but Sharapova is so good at it. I remember Richard Williams once told Serena back in 2007, Maria doesn't have a forehand but he's wrong, she certainly does. Keep hitting it Maria!!

I would LOVE to see a full video of Jelena Ostapenko's facial reactions to the other players' winners and more. Jelena is a comic many times, more than any other, I think.

The difference in this match was the Serve.
In the first set it was horrid from both.
In the 2nd and 3rd Sharapova steppes up finally took charge of points and that’s what’s won her the match.
Omg the final set was just wild shifts of momentum from 5-2 up to 7-5 , wow Ostapenko put a good fight although Maria was mostly one step ahead

Anton Kanu ikr. I studied medicine. And we don’t even use it to our patient. Because we don’t really know if it’s help our cardiac patient. Plus, they don’t really put a complete test to Meldonium to confirm its effectiveness. It took a lot of time and money to make a research on the drug. Rather than that, they would rather use other drug that is much cheaper and much effective.

I've been rooting for Sharapova so far in every match but now she's coming up against Halep, I'm going to have to change it lol. There's only three matches left and this upcoming Sharapova/Halep match is the mother of all matches because of the head to head and how Halep is an underdog. The other semi will be boring and the final if it's without Sharapova will be boring too but go Halep anyway. Just shows you how important Sharapova is in the sport. You either love or hate her
What I really admire about Maria is her passion, strong will, sheer determination and hard work. She fought from the bottom all the way to the top. Her win mentality is on the same level with Serena. Adore them both. :)

I’m not an all out Maria fan but it’s good to see her win back to back matches and in three sets. So many folks won’t get past her suspension. I say let her make it there she just needed time. Last year she retired in a match and didn’t play until summer hard courts. She can only gain points from here on out.
When Maria lost the first set, I assumed she would lose the match, so I headed out to do my errands. I came home, check the scores & whoa...Maria won! 2 more to beat, do it Maria! Win that trophy & prove your critics wrong. Onward to Roland Garros!

Can someone please provide me the stats of this match? who had more winners between the 2? i know jelena hit 18 in the first while maria only had 9 but the the latter seem to hit more in the 2nd and 3rd sets?!
