This video was like a hug through the screen. I am a mom of a 2.5 yr old and a 10 month old. The baby goes down at 7 too which is always right in the middle of dinner and getting the toddler bathed/played with etc. Even splitting up responsibilities with my husband it is just a LOT. I was looking forward to seeing if there were ways we could improve our routine through watching yours, but was instead just encouraged that we are all doing our best and that sometimes it is just "ships passing through the night" and then when it's all said and done you just want to veg out and watch Netflix lol! Thank you for being honest and relatable! and yes to morning routine next! :)

I truly love how realistic and relatable your videos are. I often struggle to get my toddler and 8-month-old to eat what we eat and to stick to a bedtime routine. Being a stay-at-home mom is by far the most exhausting job I’ve ever had, but watching my kids grow up is such a bittersweet experience. The days feel so long, yet the months and years fly by. 😢 We also downsized our home, and while it’s been a challenge for me, it’s so inspiring to see how well you make it work!

Im happy to hear you related to this video. These are harder to film and although Im not able to do these as often it was nice to just document and share these moments and relate to other parents in this stage of life.

Hey Nikole, this was one of the most honest videos I have seen on YT. I am very moved. I too am a parent to a toddler and could relate so much with you. I don’t know you personally, but everything you said towards the end felt like warm words of a friend I wanted to hear. Thank you! Sending lots of love your way 🫶🏽

Thank you for the honest vlog. You can definitely feel as a parent that due to what you see on social media you should be doing more, so this was very refreshing to watch as it was very realistic. Great video, thank you.

It is tough and sometimes it drains you emotionally and physically too. I love the little me time after bedtime. What I found helps is planning some meals ahead, grocery shopping accordingly and when possible meal/batch prep. We have one toddler, but also share our tasks and spend 1-1 time with him, meals and bedtime always together as a family and try to take some alone time for recharge (cinema, walk, having a coffee outside, etc.).

Something that works well for our family is I do daycare drop off in the morning while my husband starts work at 7am and then he is off earlier at 3:30pm so he does daycare pickup and gets supper ready. We eat all together as a family around 5-5:30 as we find that most efficient and have found since our daughter was 8 months or so it was just easier to all eat the same thing rather than make separate meals for baby. Now that she’s a toddler sometimes she doesn’t want what we’re eating but we try to make sure there is one part of the meal we know she’ll like. My husband and I decide Saturday morning the meals we’re making for the week and he goes grocery shopping and does about 75% of the cooking. We make double batches of meals on the weekend so that way we only have to cook 1 or 2 quick meals during the week and the rest of the weekdays eat leftovers. We also try to cook large batches of things we can freeze; curries, lasagna, soup, meatballs, burgers, pulled pork etc so that we have backup meals in the freezer for nights that were busier or when we’re travelling. Now that we have a kid I find we spend more money eating out at restaurants, about once a month because it’s an easy date night so because we’re spending more at restaurants we try to only get takeout 1-2 times per month but if we had the funds we’d probably get takeout more for sure, whatever you can do to make things easier for the family, makes sense to me.

I plan 3 solid meals for the week. At least one of those will provide leftovers for another day. We do takeout for another day and then i get a frozen meal for another day. 6 out of 7 days planned.. the last day we kinda wing it, visit family, cook out or buy 😅

I never prepped ahead food for my first son other then applesauce/veggie sauce and a veggie packed tomato sauce but I do meal prep pancakes and lunch options for him since he started daycare and now he’s 2.5 years old and I have another boy. I meal plan for the week for meals so I buy exactly what I need and don’t waste food or have to think about that to cook each day. It’s saved me! But recently we did start to go taco Tuesdays but we don’t do it religiously sometimes we skip a week.

I have a son who just turned 1 years old 2 weeks ago and am currently 22 weeks pregnant with another little boy- they will be about 16 months apart. I'm not worried about it too much other than the sleep at night/nap thing and how I'm going to coordinate both. Night time will be easier, because my husband will be home, but during the day I will either be alone, or the nanny will be here when I am working (I work from home.) but the whole point of her being here is for me to be on work calls, so it's not really like I will always be able to step in and help her put both down for their separate naps. It shall be interesting. I'm taking a 6 month maternity leave so at least I'll have that time to figure it out a bit.

Hi Nikole I have literally been watching u since you were pregnant with sage and I've been using a sound machine for my daughter who is 2 yrs old I wanted to ask you if its still OK to use it further down the line as she does sleep in her own room and the sound machine really does help her. Is it bad for her to be "dependant" on the sound machine or do u think they can still use it for more yrs to come? ❤
