If you don' t wanna spend the money on a twin disk. I like the ACT 6 puck. My built evo x makes 620whp/550wtq and the 6 puck holds pretty decently. I just got it in after destroying my comp stage 3.
Keep the X! I'm betting its that pressure plate on the spec clutch.
Hey man you can check you slave cylinder (not common failure tho) just incase but alot of times when the plastic OEM master cylinders begin to go you can start to bend the shift fork when shifting hard.
Since it’s a 2008 Evo, I’m betting it’s your syncros going out man. I’m pretty the previous owner been bangin out the gears.

I had the exact same lock out problem with a spec clutch on a jdm sti 6 speed. I switched to exedy it fixed the problem.
I would try replacing that floppy shifter cable too. That might be the issue..
Try to upgrade your engine mount + gearbox mount . It solved my shifting issues on my other car
What you should do is do a ez33 or 36R swap into one of those subies the H6 it would be hard as f*** they so quick plus you should challenge your skill level and and it's something different

Im only 3 mins in the vid and i could tell u right away that an upgraded cmc will not fix that issue. Only thing it would do is prevent you from getting stranded when the plastic oem cmc takes a shit
Exedy triple disc. And have trans rebuilt. You probably killed the syncros after all your other issues.

I dont know about evos but i have a 08 mazdaspeed 3 and when i bought it i adjusted the shifter because it was locking me out of 1st and 4th gear. I dont know if this helps or not but hopefully you get that issue fixed.

Check out Jackstransmissions.com for 3k or less you can get a rebuilt performance trans. I the ultimate final drive in mine and it made it so much nicer on the highway.
I love the evo! But honestly... you should sell it for an STI! You could build it up with the same hp, a more reliable transmission, they have the rumble that irresistible, and like you said a few videos ago... you’ve always had a thing for them. You’re due for an upgrade😁
