Well done, Hanna! Wonderful job on your video, and beautiful work on my beloved doll. She looks amazing! You are so talented and clever! So proud of you. . .❤️
What a great gift for your mom. Enjoyed your restoration! There's a product called Perk to wash the clothes. Wash jacket separately. Booost (3 o's) is another product to make the ivory shirt bright again and the underthings white. Just let the whites soak and give it a few rinses. Madame Alexander was an amazing innovator to create so many dolls like the international series. She had a factory in Harlem NY and it must have been incredible to work with all those beautiful fabrics and designs. I recently discovered that the hoop and coin earrings are brass and can be shined up with Brasso. Saw the comment about this Scottish doll being a bent knee walker- might make a good future video...
You are doing a great job! I love that you are willing to show and talk about your process and the failures that just come with learning. I am definitely subscribing! And can't wait to see more!
Hi im from the northeast of England not far from the Scottish borders. I had a couple of dolls exactly like her when I was young. Im 70 now so they're long gone . It was lovely to see you do this for your mam.
Congratulations on your first video! So special this is your mother's doll and I can imagine her response when you gave it to her! Just some friendly advice: Cut the conversation in half; use closed-captioning for explanations whenever possible. Use stationary camera(s) more to lessen the shaky shots. You've started something wonderful here, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
I loved seeing your process and hearing your funny commentary! You're so meticulous and took great steps doing this restoration, can't wait to watch more videos. :)
Hi with vintage Madame Alexanderkins dolls hair is a Saran wig (an early plastic ) but it doesn"t curl easily , you can try a small amount of hair gel on the curls and use tinfoil to make curls to recurls the hair. Good Luck in curling the hair.
I’ve found that a dry erase works wonders to clean debris and stains off of skin. Great work ! Excited to see future posts. And growth of your UA-cam channel.
I have this exact doll and I'm shuddering to think what shape she must be in. You did an excellent job and your mother must have been very surprised and pleased.
Hi I wanted to tell you that you can use acne cream that you can buy in the dollar store to remove any marks from clothing and even markers from a vinyl doll. Also you can buy a stringing kit for 8 inch madame Alexander and Ginny dolls. It comes with instructions to string all kinds of dolls with heavy Rubber bands like the dolls orginally had.
Try using a damp wash rag with a hair dryer to curl her hair use a metal chopstick or a doll comb to keep the hair from the face to curl it that way the head doesn’t get hurt I recommend testing this method on separate doll hair first.
This doll was an early Alexander bent knee walker. The reason for the head on a metal rod and the special hip joints was the head moved side to side when the legs moved. I believe you removed this with your repair. There are instructions available on how to correctly repair these dolls.
I have an 18 inch doll that has a Madame Alexander tag on it. But it's not on the website. Can anyone help me, this doll belonged to my late daughter and it's in terrible condition now that I've found it I would like to fix it up for her kids to have.
HANNU, I think you'd really appreciate Irenes Restoration as well. She's been at it for 5 years and does exquisite work. 👇 ua-cam.com/video/7TJ1Dx5T9fg/v-deo.html
I understand, it's not a true restoration now that I think about it. It was more just fixing the legs and outfit to the best of my ability within the time span I had available. 😊
So wonderful that you were able to do this for your mommy!
Yes she was very happy with her!
Well done, Hanna! Wonderful job on your video, and beautiful work on my beloved doll. She looks amazing! You are so talented and clever! So proud of you. . .❤️
Thanks ma!!! ❤️

You have SO much more patience than I do. BUT ,,, well done indeed. Both the video and doll were worth watching.

I’m only 3 minutes in and I already like ya
Aw thanks!
I'm almost 60 amd have 3 of these dolls I got when I was a little girl. Mostly as Christmas gifts.
They are made from a heavy hard plastic. I never really played with mine, they were displayed on my shelf.
Try using a damp wash rag with a hair dryer to curl her hair use a metal chopstick or a doll comb to keep the hair from the face to curl it that way the head doesn’t get hurt I recommend testing this method on separate doll hair first.
Quick fix for the blooms is to use a loom band elastic
Good tip thank you!

As I remember, back in the day the head movement part never worked well anyway.

Ломать не строить
10%peroxide zit cream would have lifted the green from her arms

it is unpleasant to look at unkempt, peeled hands
Thanks for your input.
I tough you going to wash her clothes and hair.
I would have but I ran out of time. If I do another restoration I'll be sure to do that!
