Been waiting for my finance's Prospective Marriage Visa subclass 300 for almost 3 years! Visa was lodged on the 15th October 2019. By October 2022 it will be exactly 3 years and not a word from the Department since lodging except the biometrics for my fiancé!

My wife applied for PMV 300 visa in December 2019 because we were not married then covid came in 2020 and we were worried we would be stuck so we got married in May,2021, By June we decided to switch from pmv 300 to 309 and it the 309 was granted in July .. My question is , does she have to wait for another 2 years starting from June or will the 2 years count from the 2019 ?

Hi Karl I lodged my prospective marriage visa in October 2020. And number of times we replied with the necessary documents. Last reply April 2022. After that this December more than 8 months no any questions they asked. my application finalized or what ? Please can you tell something about this situation
TW I know it is frustrating since so many other visas are now being processed quickly and it is simplt not fair. The backlog is being reduced quicky so we are hoping in the next 4-5 months they will get to you, perhaps sooner
My subclass 300 was granted a month ago after waiting for 19 mnths! Ive tried to ask for exception for 2 times already without any success, all what i got was extension from 9 mnths to 14 mnths! Does it mean our wedding will be held in march 2022?
Hi Bernard. Yes this is a tricky one for they wont grant an exemption unless you are already married. There are a number of variables to consider and you will need to book an appointment to discuss them if you need assistance. Here to help if you need it.
