He wasn't kidding about the people who thanked him for introducing them to classical music. Even now, decades after first discovering a P.D.Q. Bach album in my local library, and afterwards listening through his whole oeuvre (a word I probably learned from that album), I hear some famous music that's new to me and I think, "Ah, so THAT was the joke!" And in between the intentionally bad notes there's a lot of sublime original music. Not to mention Schickele's more serious works. At times his music is almost painfully beautiful, if you know the feeling. RIP, Mr./Professor Schickele.
One of my favorite people,... I heard him live in concert a couple of times... Used to listen to Schickele mix and always wanted to know more about a piece or two he guessed were probably by Nanneryl Mozart, which I have never found another reference to, as I tuned into that broadcast late.

Thanks for this. I saw him in concert about a decade ago in DC. Great concert

I love his music growing up
I'm amazed someone on the channel actually knew who he was!
Your voice sounds a bit like the voice of Peter Schickele !
