    I love the idea of deep dives, it’s something I’ve been doing with a bit more intention lately. I also love the Dark Wood Tarot! It’s been a wonderful companion through the season 🍂

    I'm working with this one currently, it's been sitting on my shelf for a year. But it's a new fave for sure! I use it for daily draws, but I did a spread yesterday, and I would agree that it really shines when using it that way. It has shown itself to be incredibly healing and enjoyable to work with, both in light and shadow.

    You brought up some things I hadn't thought about, so thanks. (I actually don't like Llewellyn decks because of the cardstock: they overspend on the books and boxes and underspend on the cards, which is what we really use). I had bought this deck, and found the art pretty but a little too Disney animation-like for my taste. But your points about the story and mood are interesting and I'll give it another look. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and enthusiasm! 💙

      Thank Nancy... Indeed, I needed to dig a little deeper to understand the deck but it I wanted to give it a fair try, although I appreciate its not for everyone 🍁

    The art of this deck really reminds me of Johann Egerkrans, a swedish artist who does mythological kind of art. It really lends itself to the dark and fantastical! I've been wanting this deck for a whilee

    I agree with everything you’ve said about this fabulous deck. It’s stunning but also so deep and complex. Love the theme of the journey of the witch. I resonate with this aesthetic . I feel this deck flies under the radar though. , has the makings of a classic deck. I absolutely adore it ! Thank you. Another great video ❤️

    I enjoyed your take on this deck. I like the deck, but not quite as much as you. While I don't dislike the graphic novel style of art, it isn't even close to the top of my list. However, I am glad to have it. The cardstock is....the pits, but it's not nearly as bad as my Mary-El. 😜😜

      The Dark Wood is atmospheric let's say... I am gonna have to do something about that silver gilding on the Mary-El 🙄

      @@darkfaetarot I hear that. Actually the silver doesn't bother me. I just have so much trouble keeping them in my hands. It's like they're Teflon coated. 🤣🤣🤣

    Slightly off topic but you mentioned something I often hear - the dislike for the baby in the Sun card. Is it because it's a baby on a horse, one would think a dangerous situation? Or because it just would be uncomfortable for the baby to sit on it? Or because of the nudity of baby? I'm asking because I've been wondering what exactly people don't like about it. Maybe it's the cultural difference? In my country not long ago you could see lots of naked babies playing on the beach (and maybe it's still prevalent? idk, i haven't been to the beach lately). Maybe we are, or I am, less prude? I don't mind the baby being naked, it reminds of the innocence of the baby and that we are born without shame, it's something that society bestows upon us later. Similarly as I don't mind nudity of the couple in the Lovers card, which for me is a symbol that in true love we can show ourselves fully to the other person. But of course I appreciate others impression can be very different and this is why I ask this question. I hope I don't sound weird by asking it 😅
    Thank you for sharing your review!

      Hi Dot... a good question, and even I had to think of why?! I think it is several things but really, I think the baby looks uncomfortable, bare, about to fall off and then it is meant to be radiating joy? I also understand the Sun card to be about coming into the present moment, leaving behind the past. But we are not babies by then, we are adults... Not sure if that's a helpful reply but I just don't feel the warmth from that card (if I am meant to) 🐝

    • @dots_explorations
      @dots_explorations 3 роки тому +1

      @@darkfaetarot Oh yes, that's very helpful, I can exactly see what you mean and why this image doesn't convey well the Sun card's meaning for you.
      I don't know why but when reading your response an image of Pippi Langstrumpf came into my mind. How I think she would look on her horse. Maybe not fully nude, but definitely not fully clothed, looking as if she's about to fall off, but that won't ever happen, that's the way she rides it, with acrobatic tricks and all that jazz. Full of joy, enthusiasm, rebellious energy and with all of her lovable eccentricities. That is probably a mix of the sun and the fool energy but I'm starting to like the baby even more 😄
