Baseball Stars on the NES was amazing. You could climb the wall to rob the other guy of a HR. Most playable Baseball game I've ever played. Wayne Gretzky hockey combined with the League Simulator for the PC (not any console) was amazing - way ahead of it's time. You could even edit custom plays.
@@VicariouslyRetro yeah - I had Wayne Gretzky hockey on sega - it sucked. But on the PC it was amazing - You could use the Hockey League Simulator with it - both by Bethesda and sold separately of course - lol. I had a 42 team NHL set up - lol
@@theadventuresofjimmycrapol8827 I actually liked Wayne Gretzky on the Genesis. Wasn’t my go-to, but I liked it… very over the top arcade style. The N64 version was decent too. But that sounds awesome with the simulator
@@VicariouslyRetro It's pretty basic like Cal Ripken Jr, but it's faster and has in-game commentary which is pretty mind blowing at the time, most famously Joe Montana II: Sports Talk Football
@@luxerhusku2609 of for sure. I had the Joe Montana sports talk football. Lon Simmons did the voice, which makes sense he did the play by play for the San Francisco 49ers. But I always hear how good Sports Talk Baseball is.
@@JEFFALITY never played Bases Loaded 3. Any good? And mutant league was a lot of fun. I had Madden ‘94 and college football‘s national championship growing up
Loved this game. There is a pitcher with terrible stats buried in a bullpen somewhere that can throw the most insane pitches! Thanks for the blast from the past.
@@VicariouslyRetro all I remember is that he was a relief pitcher that had a very slow pitch speed and a really high ERR stat. The result was intense directional pad control. I don't remember the team or the name, but I'll have to run it on an emulator and find it again. Totally worthless against the CPU, but I frustrated a lot of friends when we played this game at sleepovers.
I HATED this game !! Over 20 times i would be up 2 or 3 runs going into the 9th inning & no matter what i did , the computer's team was scoring 1 more run than me either from a grand slam to bunting in a run from 3rd.👎 Spade Froggs 😆
Hahaha yeah Ive had a similar experiences. Makes you wonder if the programmers did that on purpose. I love sports games. Had a big family and we all played sports and sports games mainly.
Yup same. All my brother and I ever played was sports games. NHL ’94, Madden ‘94, MLBPA Baseball, NBA Live ‘96, etc

I had this for the Snes as a kid and played it religiously.
Nice! Wonder if the SNES is better than the Genesis. I’ll have to try it
I love simple, arcade style baseball games and my favorite of them all on the Genesis is Sports Talk Baseball!

Did you ever play this game before? Let’s hear your thoughts on it. 😬👂
Nope. I was stuck with Bases Loaded 3 on NES around that time. I had the Sports talk football series on sega and rented mutant league alot.

It’s honestly average. Not bad, not good. You can have fun with this but there’s so many better options. Dirt cheap though
@VicariouslyRetro well I never played this befor so I don't know how I will like it
@@damin9913 give it a shot… let me know!!
@VicariouslyRetro send me this game and I can try it out I can make this game extremely fun
I enjoyed it on the SNES, but that's because I played it with my friends and brothers.
Yea the game is definitely wayyyy better when playing against a buddy vs the computer
Call me crazy but my go-to baseball game is bottom of the 9th on N64. Nostalgia can be a hell of a drug...
