As a Triton, the biggest issue with UCSD is the social scene. SB and Irvine deserve to be 2 tiers higher, especially if you're ranking Chapman that high for those reasons. Everything else seems accurate.
UCSB with a C 😢 For anyone thinking about going there, I think it’s at least an A. I’ve been to/or live near some of the others that are higher, and I think it’s super underrate.
I went to UCLA for undergrad and agree mostly with your rankings. UCLA's grass "hill" and Royce hall is borderline one of the picturesque views in all of California period. But it's just so hilly. Like getting around is a nuisance and that's mostly because of how many hills the local area has. USC is flat and much easier to get around but Westwood is so much nicer.
I toured UCSC, it definitely is a difficult campus to traverse, but I loved it because the campus is integrated with the forest and there are some great views. Also note that there are (free?) ebikes on campus that will probably make getting across campus easier for a lot of people. So if you're the kind of person who enjoys walking through the forest there aren't any real downsides in terms of the campus imo. Also as of when I toured it about a month ago, there were 13 cafes and I think 2 or 3 dining halls, I can't compare that to anything but hopefully that adds some context to the food situation
Proud Anteater over here 🙋🏼♀️😊 the issue with ranking based on whether you need a car to get to downtowns/social scenes is in CA that’s most campuses, except for some of the Bay Area ones. You mentioned Chapman being close to Costa Mesa, so is UC Irvine! And it’s right next to the Newport back bay, which is beautiful. But I do agree that it’s parking lot friendly, and that’s because it’s largely a commuter campus.
Interesting that you put UCSD at S tier, especially when you mention that a football stadium needs to be on campus for a school to be well rated, seeing as UCSD doesn't even have a football team! Although I do think the campus is great, I'm surprised it is S tier. I did my undergrad at UCSD and didn't imagine it would be S tier, but I guess you don't know how good you have it if you've never experienced anything else. EDIT: Also some funny points as I listen to this * You mention you don't like how schools are named after a city they aren't in, well UCSD is actually in La Jolla, not San Diego * Agree that UCSD is pedestrian unfriendly, but I guess no school is perfect, not even an S tier one
You have Pepperdine on the list, but not LMU ,Pepperdine's cross town rival? As a LMU alum , it's a little bit of an affront. LMU could've been put on the list for LA schools with UCLA and SC. Yes Jefferson Park is rough around the edges in some parts, but there are good people that live there. Why not highlight the fact that SC is literally across the street from some of Los Angeles' most well known museums , The California African American Museum, The Ca Scirnce Center and the Natural History Museum of L.A County as well as the Exposition Park Rose Garden. Furthermore, the campus is also next to two world class stadiums, The Bancc of California soccer Stadium and the L.A. Memorial Colisseum, home of the USC Trojans football team USC will also be Olympic Village for the L.A 2028 summer games. USC's Public Safety officers make rounds throughout the day in the neighborhood, not to mention there is a LAPD station 10 minutes from campus.
@@fourth_place The part of Fullerton it is located is a residential area with down town Fullerton nearby... I lived in the area my whole life not ghetto.
my relatives who are currently attending UCSD love it! As with anything, make sure to visit in person and/or do your research before making any life-altering decisions lol

I see, Humboldt is in the S+ tier which is why it’s not on this list.

Absolutely

UCSB is by far the prettiest campus in California

USC's location is definitely worse than UCLA, but besides that its great
UCI in D while UCSD in S????? and UCLA is B? this guy is in his own reality. this rating is a joke

Trippiest main library in all the UC.
LOVE IT
La Jolla is a neighborhood of San Diego so UCSD is within the city of San Diego.
Great video! I was wondering what are your credentials as you never go over them in the video?
Credentials: I've visited all of these places! Many of which I've spent a lot of time in. :)
No CSU chico? :(
I was wondering too
yikes, CSULB should be much higher. And how the hell is UCSD higher than Berkley and UCLA? these rankings are wildly inaccurate
What is this list based off? Parking facilities and distance from football fields???

Great video. Had to watch in 1.5x because im so impatient lol
no worries! :) thanks for the support!
Berkely is great, but People's Park looks post-apocalyptic with the storage container walls surrounding it 😭
Good or bad you should have traveled to Chico!
Cal State Fullerton is an a sketchy area according to you... Its near Brea, Yorba Linda, Placentia... literally white people 101.
yeah but fullerton itself is sketch
@@fourth_place The part of Fullerton it is located is a residential area with down town Fullerton nearby... I lived in the area my whole life not ghetto.
I'm getting the impression that you believe that white people can't be sketchy or partake in criminal behavior.
RIP Chico :/
Nothing to do outside the campus
No love for SLO? 😢
I will warn: UCSD has been hated by all my friends that went there, so definitely take the pretty campus with a grain of salt lol
my relatives who are currently attending UCSD love it! As with anything, make sure to visit in person and/or do your research before making any life-altering decisions lol
Damn where CSUS at
