One question, being a latter-day saint like you, how can the ceremony be done with God's approval if it's not done with the proper authority. I realize the Cohen family are directly descended from Aaron, but if they have not actually received the Aaronic Priesthood from someone with the keys, how can they do it with the proper authority? This seems to ask be the case with the building of the Jerusalem Temple. How can it be built without the priesthood keys held by the Prophet? Just wondering you thoughts on this. Thanks. In my reading of the Old Testament unlike now with us of other tribes, ALL sons of Aaron have the right to function in the Aaronic priesthood via birthright. So they don’t have to be “ordained” per se…. I an not an authority, I’ve read and reread that section many times and that was the only conclusion I could come up with. Unless someone knows better…

It's like a literal descendant of Aaron having the right to be the Presiding Bishop of the Church, even though a person's patriarchal blessing identifies him as being a literal descendant of Aaron, he would still need to be called by the President of the Church (the Key holder) and properly ordained, as our Article of Faith states: 5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. If we carry forward the argument that the literal descendants of Aaron can take the priesthood unto themselves without proper authorized ordination, then why a need for John the Baptist to return to bestow Aaronic Priesthood keys on Joseph and Oliver? Section 13 even states that the priesthood was given so that the Sons of Levi could offer again an offering unto the Lord in righteousness. Isn't this very offering what John was talking about, as well as those other sacrifices that will be offered when the Temples in Independence and Jerusalem are built? I think what the Jews are trying is commendable, but I'm not sure it's being done with the authority of the Lord. Why would the Prophet be the only person authorized to exercise all priesthood keys if not for such things as these?

I understand that in Christian beliefs that there is a final Temple built by the Jews to replicate the Temple of Solomon, and a gold idol put inside of it by someone who promises to unify much of the world. And then he scatters, Israel and the Jews again, as the temple crumbles. I haven't read that portion of scripture in a while, but from my understanding that is only a small piece of the entire return of the Messiah! And it doesn't mean that the Jews are evil or that some of them will not be still part of God's fold, because obviously they are! He gave them prophecies to be fulfilled as signs toward his coming! But from my understanding, these are only signs, moving toward the final coming where his kingdom is fully restored. Because there are many things that have to happen between now and then. And it doesn't necessarily all have to do with a Antichrist who may be a single person of world leader type stature. So I think those Christians who are afraid of a scripture being fulfilled first off must not be very excited about the coming of their savior! LOL. Because if those things don't happen, then Perhaps he will not come back until those things are fulfilled! So in my opinion, we should look toward all of these things and the signs of the coming of the Messiah with great joy and anticipation, and let me tell you I would also be down there helping the Jews prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah, even though I am Christian! Because all over the world there are people of God's flock to be gathered. And not to mention, the more of the signs that we see, the closer his coming is, and there is absolutely no stopping him! Why would you speak out against the fulfillment of these signs and the coming of our Lord?! And how does a person think that they can stop God from commanding all of these things to happen when they are clearly written in his plan? Because even though we do not like evil in the world, the culmination is a coming into peace and God's kingdom restored! Not the other way around, even though that evil may come to the surface for a hot minute! But that is why Jesus said to endure until the end and be strong in him! That is why we received the Holy Spirit by the baptism of Christ, so that we have God's holy Spirit to be with us, to strengthen us until His return, and the restored Kingdom of God upon the world!
