  • I received a VolkswagenMFD1 radio for repair which had a distorted screen. Fortunately it was enough to clean the screen ribbon cable connectors with a contact cleaner and it was fine.

Thank you very much. I bought a Skoda dx navigation for 40 euros without testing it because of the price and took the risk. You saved me with this video!

Very nice, I have s Skoda DX unit, like new, but it has a problem, all the buttons and the screen work, but the moment I plug in the speakers jack, it's buzzing... I can see it searching and finding radio ststions in the background, but all that is coming from the speakers is a high-pitched buzzing doesnt stop? Do you think it can be repaired?

Thanks, I would try another sound source, CD magazine, AUX or I would try to change radio from FM to AM. If the sound doesn't change, it could be the preamplifier or the DSP chip, if the buzz is only at the radio, the radio chip is most likely bad. I once repaired a Delta6 radio with a similar problem, I had to replace the radio receiver chip. (It was a TEA6848 or TEA6846, I can't remember exactly). First I would check the power supply of the chips, if the filter capacitors of the DC-DC converters are working properly. This is a very meticulous job, for real hobbyists.

@@mcelec7603 Thanks for the reply. 👍👍👍I tried changing the sound source… and the sound doesn’t change… It is buzzing whatever I do, not rhe slightest change while I am moving from one source to another…Can these parts be sourced only from another exactly the same unit? I hope someone can repair it because these Skoda DX units are really rare.

@@ianmilo9982 Yes, the chips vary depending on the device. Unfortunately, I haven't found a wiring diagram for the DX radio yet.
