Too Many Animals to Handle in Chobe National Park // EP.51

- We are visiting Chobe National Park with our Land Rover Defender, and seeing thousands of animals in the park, enjoy one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.
After camping for a couple of days in the bush, we went back to Katima to visit Keith and repair our worn-out wheel bearing. Sadly our stub axle needs replacing but there are no parts here. We will have to do it in Windhoek.
We cross to Botswana and take our anti-bilharzia pills. We were swimming in Malawi Lake, so we need to be sure we didn't get the parasite.
The border between Namibia and Botswana is a smooth one, they only check for meat products.
From here we finally enter Chobe National Park. We are exploring the Chobe Riverfront, one of the areas with the highest concentration of animals, even in the wet season. The river provides a paradise for all species. We see hundreds of buffalo, giraffes, impalas, and elephants. It is stunning and overwhelming at the same time.We get to see even two male lions fighting for a giraffe against 10 Crocs.
We leave the park and go south towards Ghoha Gate. We park in the bush, which feels amazing again. We start early, we are going to cross through Savuti and Mababe, some very beautiful areas of Chobe NP. Here we find breathtaking landscapes, that look more like a painting 😱
Enjoy the Ride!

LIKED YOUR ALL TOO AFRICA 🌍, ZIKHOMO 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 😍
Fantastic to see the wildlife .And the Elephants and Lions WOW what treat.
It was incredible to be there and capture it! Happy that you enjoy it 😎
Amazing interaction with the elephants 🌞
We were really scared that they would get a bit aggressive and attack the car 🙈 but they came in peace and stay a bit around us to show how beautiful they are!
@@Thebluelandy truely beautiful and they really did come so near.
Yaa, thats Botswana for u, never dissappoints. Have a good time and enjoy.
Stay safe.
It was incredible! Many people told us to prepare ourselves, but we weren't at all 😱 so happy we came to experience it . Thank you so much! 🤗
Wonderful. Love the Land rover. Brings memories of my father and his Series 3 station wagon. That vehicle could have taken a beating went anywhere and did anything. Just slow😂. Nice vids keep them coming. First comment.
So true! Our Landy takes a lot of beating as well, and yeah we don't go very fast , normally cruising at 80km/h in main roads. We will try our best to deliver! Thank you for watching 🤗🤗
Guineafowl roadblocks are an endless struggle! 😂
They are !!! 🤪
Hi the BlueLandy guys watching you through you r journey is also a lesson to me
Drive safe and stay healthy.
Thank you so much for watching! And that's a hell of a compliment, as we always intend to inspire 😉 see you around!
Camping in the bush in those areas must be a great feeling.
Yeah, it was! Both around Caprivi and Chobe we had to be careful because we could hear animals around us all the time! It is really thrilling. The only downside you have to stay in the car as soon as is dark. 🤷
My answer is a bit late but I wanted to point out that being on a campsite in the park, doesn’t mean there is a need to sit in your car when it’s dark normally. You would sit around your campfire. Of course you should be carful then and maybe not walk in the night to the ablution block and always keep an eye on the animals and their noises around you. If you’re camping near a river and hippos may come out at night to enjoy the nice gras on your campsite you should of course be extra careful and step out of there way. Talking to other experienced campers how the handle the situation may be helpful. We just came back from a 5 weeks camping trip to Botswana and enjoyed the great evenings under the sky full of stars very much.
So great, I was at Chobe Game Lodge years ago, it was incredible. Thank you, greetings from Vienna!
Yeah! I couldn't believe there could be so many animals in one place, nuts! Greetings from sunny, but windy Namibia
The guy understand the landy so well mechanical wise. Congrats to him. One day i will own landrover td5 or we can arrange you leave that to me after your expendition. Am in kenya and i can buy it. Congrats again for showing us nothing is impossible.
Thank you for the probs, I'm sorry to disappoint you I planning on handing the landy over to my grandchildren. 😂
Wonderful experience, especially where the elephants were so near to you both.
It was really incredible, but also scary! We heard so many stories about elephants hitting cars, so we always have huge respect for this giants. They are majestic and really entertaining to watch them, specially those little "dumbos"🤩
Always great fun when wild life spotting and filming . Looked like you two had a amazing time in those nat parks . Thanks for sharing your beautiful adventure with us your traveling friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🌍🍻😁👍🏼
Hey Steve, it was incredible to see soo many animals 😱 we really could not believe it. It was a treat to be able to get close and captures those moments! Thank you for watching 🤗
@@Thebluelandy 😁
Breathtaking, amazing guys
Thank you so much! It was really that beautiful. Absolutely the place to get close to animals, no searching, they are just there, insane! A pleasure to capture all this as well 🙌
@@Thebluelandy well thanks for sharing

To avoid the wires, you can fit some steel cables from the front of each wing, to the top of your roof rack. This will deflect the wires - we had them on our military land rovers.
That’s true, we thought about it, it also helps with branches and so but our Roofrack is only ¾ so we don’t have fixing points without drilling in the roof. And that’s something I really try to avoid 😂
Thank you!
@@Thebluelandy another option is a wire cutter, either on the windscreen pillar, or I’ve seen them in front of the bonnet. Just an angled bar to guide the wire up into the hook shaped cutter at the top.
Botswana, perhaps second to Kenya & Tanzania for game. Country geared for wildlife tourism - rarely disappoint. Enjoy !
Yeap, Botswana didn't disappoint 😱🤩 we got told so many times to get ready ,but we were absolutely not for the amount of animals. Thanks!!!!
Kenya and Tanzania may have higher numbers but Chobe, where this video was shot, has the highest species diversity.

Yes!! Chobe is amazing ! But we crossed actually in Ngoma to Botswana. We did cross from Zambia to Namibia( Katima Mulilo bridge) and then Ngoma bridge to Botswana. 😜
👍
Sehr schön.
Ich muss jetzt mal an unseren Landy, irgendetwas klappert.
Gruß von der Untermosel.
Danke!
One thing is very annoying the noise of your vehicle
FYI that's the sound of endurance.one day in future you will understand. Enjoy the ride .
It is tough to talk when we are driving on the highway, 🤣but this Landy took us more than 60.000km and it is going to take us many more.
This Landy is a beast!! Let's enjoy the Ride 😁😉
What pills are you taking for bilharzia? Do you already have bilharzia and are treating it?
Hey Jabber,
No we were not diagnosed with bilharzia. But the recommendation (after talking to several Doctors) was that if we were possibly exposed to it? to take the pills once to not risk an infection.
