Imperial Troops Have Entered the Base! Imperial Troo*** Hey! Follow us on Twitch! We're currently streaming some Stellaris, XCOM and the Witcher 3! Plus some Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 and Ace Combat 7 in the next few weeks! www.twitch.tv/templininstitute
You guys rock
Playing XCOM? Why haven’t you made a video on them?
The Templin Institute
How about it’s spider infested mythical cousin chopper base as the next video
Echo station 5-7 we are on our way.
What would Pod Racing be listed under at the Templin Institute?
Because I want you all to cover Pod Racing!
I personally love that scene in Empire Strikes Back where Han is walking through the busy hangar to get to the Millennium Falcon. Such fantastic world building and immersion, with all the Rebels doing their jobs, repairing that X-Wing and equipment, etc. It looks like a real hangar, not a movie set.
The colours in the base as ice, humans and machinery interacted were mesmerising.
Yeah.. the good ole days.
I love how everyone keeps bumping into and between Han and Leia, it really feels they're in the middle of a bussy hallways
And probably working on making those Snowspeeders work in freezing conditions
Rebel 1- "I think we're doomed."
Rebel 2- "nah we'll be fine as long as they don't send any giant robot camels our way."
*mechanical stomping off in the distance*
Rebel 1-"Hey Jim, robot camels."
They were actually a tactical necessary for the Imperial ground assault, since the Rebels' entrenched fortifications were designed to hold off infantry and light vehicles.
My Lord. There are so many uncharted settlements. It could be smugglers, it could be...
Vader: That is the system and Skywalker is with them.
Easier than the Kessel
General Veers, prepare your men!
Eric Sutton yes, my lord.
Ozzel was a Rebel spy

boy I was so abusing the right mouse button when I had the chance to sit in an AT-AT
It was so annoying to kill the atats
@@codyarcher3263 AI pilot and you firing the wires. Just had to make sure some idiot didn't jump in and start firing completely ineffective pot shots.
@@codyarcher3263 the ATATs, like all vehicles, actually had a weak spot. It was in the neck tunnel, shots there did way more damage. Me and my friends would use the satellite cannons (idk what they're actually called, but people know what I'm talking about when I say that) and just target those spots in a cross fire from the outposts and with the snow speeders. Usually worked out pretty well.
@@reeyuh526 well I didn't have anybody to play with other then my brother who continues to be about as good as an AI player.
"No one ever complained about the cold on Hoth. We never felt it. Even though we were blinded by blizzards, we could see the final end of the Rebellion in our blaster sights. Was it only a mirage? Perhaps. But on that day, on that planet, our blood ran hot with dreams of victory, melting the ice that stood in our way.
As the Rebels fled, the 501st gathered around a burning bunker and let out a cheer that shook the stars. The Rebellion was done, the Death Star was being rebuilt, bigger than ever. Order had finally returned to the Galaxy, in no small part due to the efforts of the fighting men of the 501st."
- Unknown soldier, Imperial 501st Stormtrooper Legion
Hadaril your awesome
One has to wonder how that trooper felt less than a year later after the battle of Endor though.
@@chrisd8866
If he was not died, he surely promised to avenge his murdered comrades and fight on, holding up the nobel idea of a galaxy united and secured under the Imperial flagg.
Marc Bartuschka actually. It is said he would not be able to join the imperial remnant. As they left the ground troops behind in their flight. But later on he would see the rebel alliance carried the same values as the republic did he would try out to be a rebel infiltrators but he wasn’t good enough. So he would become a rebel army officer

Admiral Ozzel: Lord Vader, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed and we're preparing to-*agh* [Begins choking]
Darth Vader: You have failed me for the last time, Admiral. Captain Piett!
Admiral Piett: Yes my Lord?
Darth Vader: Make ready to land our troops beyond the energy field, and deploy the fleet so that nothing gets off the system, [as Ozzel's neck is crushed] you are in command now, ADMIRAL Piett.
Admiral Piett: Thank you, Lord Vader.
Admiral Piett: What is the plan, my Lord?
Darth Vader: We shall invade from the ground, beneath the planetary shield, and I shall personally clear out the base!
Admiral Piett: So, my Lord, I assume we will keep the shield intact so that they cannot escape?
Darth Vader: No, we shall destroy the shield from the ground to allow for orbital bombardment.
Admiral Piett: Didn't you just say you would personally clear out the base, my Lord?
Darth Vader: Yup.
Admiral Piett: The same base you want us to bombard after you destroy the shield generator?
Darth Vader: I don't see your point.
Admiral Piett: Nothing, my Lord.
Ozzel was a spy for the rebellion I think
Hoth is THE most iconic planet for me and resonates deeply within the fandom
The Empire Strikes Back was an excellent movie overall. I was a kid back then who actually played in the snow, so loved it even more.
"Time to put this rebellion on ice" :- Imperials
that one was... cold.
That joke gave me the chills
Aight, aight. Just Chill.
Dossier: Revan
...please...
Yeah
Yes.
There's this comic that shows the Battle of Hoth shown from a Rebel soldier's POV. It shows the guy who shouted "Imperial Troops have entered the base!".
I hope to see the Ancient races series relatively soon.
I'm more excited for this than episode ix
So?
well thats not hard. xD
I wouldn't refer to it as an episode that implies those three movies are apart of the timeline instead of seriously bad fan-fiction.
Since this appears to be important to Ace 7, how about an Atlas investigation about Usea's Stonehenge meteor interception network?
Better yet, dossier of Scarface, Mobius 1, Garm 1 or Wardog Squadron
Man, never thought I'd get sentimental over Echo Base, but here I am. The script, narration, and music were all on point.
"No one ever complained about the cold on Hoth. We never felt it. Even though we were blinded by blizzards, we could see the final end of the Rebellion in our blaster sights. Was it only a mirage? A wonderful episode.
LeTS grOup alL toGether on On pLace, Let ThEm Get Us AlL in One ShOOt
omg that background music and her narrating voice was perfect
Yavin 4 - *takes the Empire 19 years to find*
Hoth - *takes the empire less than a year*
Ahh the logistics of movie timelines.
I’m surprise you were able to find as much backstory to make the video this long. Admittedly, feels like credit goes to the one who wrote the script for this.
Trust me bro, never underestimate the power of the extended universe. Almost every background character has an entire wookiepidia page dedicated to them. Most info on Echo base may fall under "legends" now, but there is still plenty left in canon.
One of my favorite things as a kid
Echo base is nuts
and one of the best maps on Battlefront 2 (2005)
echo base and snowspeeders in the same week. *geeeeeeeks out*
The first transport is away!
From the harsh weathers of Hoth to the planet city of Corusant...the Alliance has gone a long way
I might make a story about a group of Pirates settling in on Echo Base.
“You have failed me for the last time Admiral”
I’ve been a Star Wars fan for a long time, but I never considered how the Wampa’s would sometimes just wander into the base at night through the unexplored tunnels, that is some terrifying sh*t
The Massassi temple should be next!
Great video! I really love Hoth and everything related.
A suggestion for a future episode: UNIT from Doctor Who, specially after the revelation of the last New Year’s Day special.
One thing that I truly appreciate about Star Wars are these astonishing locations. Planets are always well designed and kinda realistic (ok, real planets out there aren't like that, they are far worst, but) and always full of mysteries.
Top notch content, as always. Keep doing what you're doing, guys.
For the Rebellion!!!
I don't know how many times I watched this movie...Only the first one more in all of the Star Wars films.
Atlas is the best subseries!
The Rebels also had several other Echo Base sized outposts on the planet like Outpost Beta and Outpost Delta
Good video as usual!
For the next ATLAS: Castle Rock (Stephen King universe), The Grid (TRON), Mainframe (ReBoot) ;-)
Yavin 4, Hoth, D'Qar, Crait. Both the Rebellion and the Resistance are most impressive in there abilities to quickly set up a base and if needed evacuate it. Quite a shame it took that much effort only to be found one month later and abandon.
1 month after being fully operational. They were probably there for quite some time. But yeah, that is the benefit of instead having a mobile capital. You don't have to spend so much time searching, and "evacuating" a system is as easy as going to hyperspace, and you don't lose so much equipment and manpower.
For the REBELLION
Impressive most impressive!!
My suggestion is the Fire Nation from Avatar. It's pretty impressive when you sit and think about it.
With Godzilla coming out in a few months, it’d be cool to see an Atlas episode for Monster Island.
Twenty night in the ice is a long time, when there's

I remember reading in one of the visual guides that some Echo personnel slept in their respective transport ships. Cramped, but warm.
Such a well-written script and skillful mix of movie footage and art from other media! For the next Star Wars Atlas, I vote for the Resistance base on D’Qar.
Some of the destiny races like the Cabal Fallen or Hive would be a interesting video topic
I want to see more Star Wars legends lore on this channel
i love these videos
That is the system.
Excelente video, saludos desde Lima Perú...!!!
Awesome!!!!
i always pretend to play drums and get super hyped up with the templin intros or outros
Τhe frozen planet Hoth was the place where the Empire fought The Rebel Alliance in The Empire Strikes Back .
The Rebellion suffered tremendous losses .
I’d like you guys to do a 10 min dossier of Elric of Melnibone! 😊
We may now have an origin story of why the base was named as such. Named after clone trooper Echo, a true hero 🫡
Hell yeah!
I love these videos, feel free to produce as much Star Wars content you’ll at least have one very appreciative fan 😍
funfact: the probe droid that found the base can also be seen briefly in rogue one in the city of jedha
I just realized something: What if the Echo Base is actually Clone Trooper Echo himself? That he ends up digitized as a Supercomputer for the Rebels?
That seems like a stretch, and also jumping the shark. Its far more likely they had several bases and they were named "Alpha, Beta, Delta, Echo, etc.". Plus considering the ramshackle nature of echo base and the fact that it was built to be quickly abandoned, I doubt they would have something that valuable & irreplaceable installed it. It would be much more useful to install something like that in a ship, then its mobile, instead of being stationary in a base where it could be captured. Just like echo base was.
If anything, maybe they base was named for him, but I think even that's a stretch considering we have no indication he has any relation to the rebel alliance at all at this point in the canon.
@@apassionatenerd.3564 fair point.
I still don't understand why they couldn't just take a big cruiser or small fleet as HQ. Easier to evacuate, resupply and hide.
Hoth is so cold and windy, it might as well be deep space, regarding maintanence costs and heating. There are no ways to gather support, or resources. Echo Base is just a bunker with free ice for your drinks.
And yes, I can see the Rebels not having enough ships to carry everything or everyone in space. However, a small cargo depot or cache could be established anywhere. Or you could just bury containers for later. Spread out, they are a lot harder to find en masse.
I do believe Rebels need ground bases, just not as HQ for leadership. And not one big base, but smaller ones scattered in places which are hidden, but still offer an advantage over deep space and asteroids. Advantages being resources or abandoned industry, sympathetic people, energy, pre-built infrastructure or natural formations convertable to a base, etc.
Yavin made more sense, because the Rebellion was smaller at the moment, the temples were pre-built, and offered defendable spots. Out of the way as well. The temples might even have old equipment or materials for recycling, and the roads carved long ago may be reestablished for serving the Rebels. Yavin also has less upkeep, considering the temperature.
New Mombasa, Requiem, Onyx, Installation 07 (aka Zeta Halo), Installation 00 (aka The Lesser Ark, the Covenant holy city of High Charity, Harvest, Sigma Octanus IV, Circinius IV, Corbulo Academy of Military Science (CAMS), Jericho VII, Andesia, Eridanus Secundus.
I have a request for your next video, do the secret organization of Men in Black!!!
I'd love an MIB vdeo. And just in time for the movie.
Don't know hwo you would do it, but the Kasierreich alternate history mod would be incredibly interesting to do.
Would looove to see Castle Greyskull :-)

More Star Wars pls
The “Strike Witches” franchise.
I like the gear they wear.
What ?
Sicarius Vast, to understand what I like most about the setting of the “Strike Witches” franchise, google: “Strike Witches” M1 Abram; “Strike Witches” F-22 Raptor.
@@nickvinsable3798 ok
I always had the impression, that Echo Base was more of an improvised base, instead of an perfect autonomous, self sufficient command center.
At that point, the rebels where on the run for years and it wouldn't be surprising to me, if Eco Base was just one of many hastly built hiding places for them.
But on the other hand, i have only seen SW:ESB (maybe 100 times (no joke) since i first saw it in 1980) but none of the newer movies.
Hey Can you do a video about the Terran Federation and the mobile infantery. Or in general a video about the world of Spaceship Troopers.
THX
In Norway we call it Finnmark
"All we Rebels ever do is die to accomplish things...except for the A-team over there."
"Then I'll see you in hell"
Can you guys do Gundam stuff like the One Year War
FOR THE EMPIRE!
Can we have a dossier on Jango Fett and a reason as to why the clear majority of his Clones can't seem to hit the broadside of a star destroyer?
I’d love an episode on the fall of the mechanicum in 30k or current adeptus mechanicus
Vader could have sent a commando team or inquisitors to capture Luke and afterward bombed the Base from orbit. This could have helped turn Luke to the Dark Side and gained him favor within the Empire, he could have used this favor to help him usurp his master with his son by his side.
I LOVE TO REBEL IN LIMIT THO
I would like to see some early rebellion things like chopper base for example. If not blood gulch from the Red vs. Blue series might be interesting
MC-80 Home One
Please make an episode about Nosgoth or any content about the Legacy of kain series

Do a dossier on Zap Brannigan
Can you do palpatine’s imperial palace on coruscant? Not the one that was once the Jedi temple but the original one from legends.
The planet broke before the guard did. Wait...
Rebel Alliance is #1 the Empire is #2.
I have an I idea for an episode of Atlas. Mother Base from MGS Peacewalker and Ground Zeroes.
Castle Drakenfels; Warhammer Fantasy.
waiting for an atlas on the Frontier from Titanfall
