I'm the complete opposite, never learned a fill in my life, have always winged it. But now I need some structure and you're a great help! Getting back on my kit after many years absent. Thanks to you!
This lesson has not only made me get better in my fills, but actually increased my motivation for drums so much! Thanks Jared!!!
Jared, all your videos inspire me to sit down on the kit and try new things out!
Work great for us at Drumeo. Those heads have been on that kit for awhile and take a beating every day.
I'm in love with this drum kit (: great lesson thanks Jared!
Thanks Jared. I’ve been writing down fills and playing them. But seeing you do this has taken away my fear and inspired me to just put stuff together. Thank you so much sir 🙌🏿💯
Great lesson as always, gives us more things to think about! The drumming community owes a lot to you - THANKS!!
hey jared, just wanna say thank you 'coz you really help me alot with my drumming. most of my playing patern, i got it from you. you teach very well and detailed. i am looking forward to learn more from you. you make drumming easy and interesting for me. thanks.
Thank you for the awesome lessons Jared!
Thanks Jared, very practical and this area of drumming has been on my mind for quite awhile: playing linear grooves & fills organically without preconceived patterns. Thanks for the inspiration and confirmation that other drummers have considered this technique. Greetings from SF Bay Area.
You're a great tutor Jared, I learned a lot from your videos
Jared you are great, your lessons help out a lot ❤
He is one of the best drummer and excellent teacher. tnx
Super helpful tips, thank you Jared!
Great lesson man, just what I have been working on.. very helpful, thanks!
I have a bunch of 4 measure long I provided solos for a jazz band (were playing some mambo and samba and stuff tho) and thus helped me a lot when it came to my mindset during an improvised fill
damn this is helpful i have a uni solo performance in like 10 hours and it is an improvised piece
Everything u did in this video I can do but I never know what I'm doing cause it's just the feel and ear I got for drums, love it!
Hey Jared, I have been studying many of your techniques, they have been very useful and interesting to apply to what I do...metal music...thanks for that and keep in touch bro
Thanks Jarrad. "Share The Love" That pretty much says it all. Namaste, your lessons are great and I'm a guitarist learning drums.
Im trying to learn a bit more of improvising and this really helped. It is a great way to practise, just put the metronome on play a beat then play a fill and just see what works. Thanks a lot.
I wish I played that loose and smoothly....such a nice job! Love your videos pal keep it up
excellent! great video!!! Thanks jared! you're so good!
that was good stuff. Can't wait to give it a try.
Great exercise!
I really enjoyed it, you're good!
Amazing! very helpful
Thank you so much for the lesson! I wish it was a bit more thorough in terms of examples but that would just beat the idea of making the linear drum fills our own
I think you do a fantastic job. No need to say much more than that. Thank you.
Good lesson!
Awesome! thanks!
Ohhhh...Thanks man, i needed that to cleared up
Sympa et très utile !
Hi Jared I've literally just gone out and bought a pearl firecracker and plan on using it as a side snare could you do a video on maybe so side snare grooves and fills
Thanks for reading :)
thanks a lot man!
It's Amazing!
Great lesson! :) Does anyone know what kind of tom heads he uses on this kit? Thanks!
Hey, Jared! Thanks a lot for these lessons. I'm not going to my kit quite yet because it's past 1 AM down here in Brazil, but you certainly motivated me!
A simple question, if I may: would it also be considered a linear fill (or pattern) should I replace some of the notes into rests or use flams and drags (provided I don't hit different voices at the same time)?
"There are no silly questions. Only silly answers."
Cheers!
I got it I might practice the lesson on my set
Great lesson man !
Does Cobus play this?
He went on a trip to Mars and said he'll be back in the next 20 or 30 years.
love those SCL3!! i used to have one pair, now I have custom made :p
Can you teach the Moellar technique? I've seen 2 other videos here on UA-cam but I want to see your lesson on it.
I like it. Thanks! :D
i'd love tips on how to keep the rythm in very slow songs (long time between the hits)
your video tell me that i dont need to take course i just need to keep practicing a lot !
You might check through their channel, I know they did several videos on how to mic your drums and what they use and such.
hey jarred, love the things you are doing to teach the peoples. who is this carson drum kid? saw him and you trading licks a bit ago...he looks young, is he your lil brother or something? this new vid from him on you tube solo is nuts!!!
Love!
They're Evans EC2 clear heads.
where can i get a pair of those shoos?i think thats what will help my drumming the most.
if you mix linear fills with some rudiments, it sounds awesome
Every time I see one of the lessons ,I come back here and do the same exercices adding what I just learnt , I'm actually adding drags to this exercices (sorry about mistakes I'm french ^^)
Thanks Drumeo... :)
So cool drummset
Are they durable and how is their tuning range and do they stay in tune good? I have heard that they don't.
I really love the sound of that snare, can I achieved that sound with the Evans Hydraulic skin?
holy shit gotta learn this!
the sabian XS 20 are quite good apparently, haven't played them myself but heared good things about it... where are u from ? in germany there's a shop called musicstore and there house brand makes "fame B20 cymbals" witch sound suprisingly good !!
um dos maiores bateras
Me too.
buenicimo hermano
Você conseguiu, estou indo para minha bateria agora.
Great
are those paiste signature series crashes?
Jared, would you be interested in a single paradiddle helicopter fill with a cow bell added in? Jim
I never think about my fills. They just come out. The dynamic between playing styles is interesting.
What drums its that ?, sorry my bad english, can u say me the model ? and sizes thanks !
I always had trouble understanding how spears and those other gospel types did this stuff. The triplet thing TOTALLY cleared this up for me.
THANKSSSSSSSSS
What snare drum are you using?
I like this guy...
jared is so sick!!
Im gonna learn the shit outa those 16ths! Cheers man
what can we say about Jared : awsome like always ]:->
Does anyone know of any good cymbals which are not too expensive?
They have a video where they explain the recording setup
what heads on the toms?
Just one question, whats a linear fill? Haha. I find I just sit down play a groove and throw a fill in there that sounds good. I guess I never really focus on one pattern.
Hahah thanks;) Take i easy man.
i notice your left hand not very much leaving the snare unless youre hitting the hi hat
is it better to do it that way?
no its not a good technique. you can't play in front of a large audience using what he teaches. classic example of a non pro teaching. he's not getting calls from legit artists. 0% groove. I know lots of real session players in Canada. no one calls this guy. fact. I just want people to know that so they don't waste their time
Esta muy bien pero por favor ofrece la transcripcion porque ayuda mucho. Gracias.
Your hi-hat is gorgeous and makes me hate mine even more.
Oh.....sorry if I hit a soft spot man. But thanks for the killer lessons:)
how much is this kit?
Drumset name?
PS: nice vid :D
Why "linear" fills? What does that mean?
this is vey similar to 4 way coordination melodic exercise, except for the left foot
details?
Can u show a jazz lesson
No, it's just big and ugly naturally. Thanks for noticing and bringing it up though. I appreciate your attention to the details of my face.
Same here :D
what happened with cobus? :(
Ryan Strain has the same nose. I must be a sign of talent.
that's a good deal
What is the actual definition of a linear fill.
wow u are fucking awesome dude :)
I think I have found the secret to drum filling!
I want to play now, oh yh its 11:20 pm
Thats crazy. I'm the total opposite. I never know what i'm playing, i just play it. I have trouble playing set patterns.
