It doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves and that is a crime, as it is probably the least repetitive Thomas song ever and it's just so beautiful, man
Honestly, despite how the Miller Era had lazy writing, the songs during that era were really catchy and enjoyable (and yes, that includes the Misty Island Rescue song and the Fat Controller song).

Awesome choices. I honestly never heard the "Balloon Song"...particularly because it never got released in the UK (as you said), but I just never bothered to listen to it. And I personally love the rest of the songs on your list, but respect your opinion, on the songs you don't like too much. Also, I never really realised, on the "make-believe" line, in "The Island Song", but I didn't really have a problem with it, since I just loved the melody. ...And it'll take me forever to do a ranking of all the songs, but my number one favourite would have to be "Really Useful Engine".
The 5 New Engines in the shed thing is because Spencer and Fergus weren’t new engines in universe. Spencer isn’t owned by the railway, and it’s said that Fergus has been there a long time, so the others wouldn’t call them “new engines”.

i wasn't expecting to like james and the red balloon as much as i do, i listened to it earlier and it made me cry, it evoked a strong feeling of nostalgia

The instrumentals for many of these songs still give me goosebumps to this day. That alone vouches how well these songs are. In fact just trying to describe the instrumentals for Thomas's Anthem alone is just impossible. It's just otherworldly and magical; I love it.

Personally, I can find a slight bit of enjoyment out of all of these songs, but I still have ones that I prefer over the others.

I also have the Hooray For Thomas DVD that come with the TTTE: Totally Thomas - Volume 5 DVD that come with the On Site With Thomas and Sing-Along & Stories DVDs! Every time I hear the The Island Song and Winter Wonderland I cry, I don't know why... I guess because growing up I didn't have regular TV, I grew up in the 2000's with a VHS player and I don't remember what tapes I had but I know they were on them. Those tapes are now sadly lost in storage, I'm currently 18 in college, hundreds of miles from home, and looking back I wish I could go back to a random night when I was 8 or 9 and watch the tapes again.
Imagine how hard it was to make this video now that we don’t have ThomasHDClassics.

4:35 I think it's because Fergus and Spencer are NOT considered new engines. Spencer doesn't belong to the Fat Controller so he's not a new engine for Sodor's sheds, and Fergus' introduction episode doesn't treat him like he just arrived, like he's been on Sodor for a bit
Plus his prop's motor got broken during the landslide so they probably didn't want to promote a character that wouldn't show up anymore (If my theory is correct that filming for the exclusive shots for 5 New Engines in the Shed was AFTER the filming of the episodes)
Come for the ride was my first Thomas song. The Mike O’ Donnell Version of Little Engines is my favorite because I like his singing and you can even hear the whistles of the Little Engines. Donald’s Duck is also one of my favorites, but the Headmaster Hastings version is better since it shows Donald singing in his Scottish Accent which is more accurate.

The original draft version of the Tugs theme sounds similar to the Island Song
I feel like it should’ve been called SEVEN New Engines in the Shed, because season 7 also introduced Fergus and Spencer, who weren’t in the song. I’d also mention Elizabeth, but she’s just a ViNtAgE qUaRrY tRuCk, if you will.

Nice rank of all the Classic Thomas songs (and I do understand why you couldn't do all the newer songs because there's just a lot of them that would be too much to put together in one video).
My favorite song is The Whistle Song. (I know you don't like it, but for me, this has always been a favorite of mine because when I was younger, I had no idea that this song ever existed as it was never featured on any VHS tape I owned when S6/7 came out. That wasn't until I first heard it on a VCD I once bought and that was my first exposure to this, Never, Never Give Up and Salty. Listening to this, this became my favorite for how catchy it was, the different footage they used, the fact it was also the last song by Mike and Junior before they left and the deleted/extended scenes from Bye George always stuck into my mind).
My least favorite is the same as yours, that being Thomas' Christmas Song (I hated that song when I first saw it on UA-cam, and I still do today. The kids' singing is just so annoying. I know there are some people that do like it and that's fine. But it's just not my taste).

Imo, I like almost all Thomas songs. There are a few where I’ll say it’s one of the worst songs ever and then others where I’m like “meh”. Come for the ride being my personal favorite but I can see if somebody has another song that’s their favorite.

After watching this video and seeing the Hot Takes I thought I’d take a revisit to every song.
So now let’s begin
5. Never, Never Give Up
Looking back I realized how overrated this song and Accidents will Happen is, I mean back when it at it’s most popular it was way more hyped up than it is now and I agree that was deserved but unfortunately it receives the same treatment as Accidents will Happen with those pointless Trainz and Thomas Toy videos. I’m only putting it in Top 5 due to my liking of the song and nostalgia.
4. Troublesome Trucks
In my opinion this is either underrated or almost perfectly rated but the problem is I feel people don’t realize that the remaster is better but the original has some really good nostalgia and is an absolute vibe if used in a runaway. That’s all I can say really.
3. Thomas’ Anthem
I don’t really need to say much for this. I mean it’s legit just, the song is amazing, it’s nostalgic asf and uh I’d be slaughtered by the fandom if this wasn’t put at Top 3.
2. Accidents will Happen

Rewatched it, it’s definitely my favorite Thomas Song it’s the most nostalgic for me I absolutely love this song and can not get enough of it and everything about this is done beautifully, problem is those 2015 vids of Trainz and children decimating their toys.

Same as Accidents will Happen except I like it a bit less and it would of been second if not for those damn 2015 vids.
Note: Need to make this before kids start coming in and saying “WHERE’S REALLY USEFUL ENGINE” I will not be afraid to admit Accidents will Happen is the most overrated Classic Thomas Song I only put it at 2nd bcus of my personal love and nostalgia for it. Coming in 2nd place for overrated is Really Useful Engine, don’t get me wrong this song is a masterpiece I won’t deny but it’s 6th for me mainly bcus there are some elements I don’t like (*cough cough* Magic Railroad *cough cough*) and you have no idea how many of my cousins used to spam this song in my ear for 3 hours. I would have it at Top 3 but those memories put it lower than Top 5.

The reason 5 new engines in the sheds has salty, harvey, emily, arthur, and murdoch is because fergus was an old engine INTRODUCED in season 7, and spencer was and new engine to the island, BUT he isn't a part of the north western railway
