Don't forget, Sindri is responsible for Brok not having an afterlife, As much is it painful and heartbreaking, choices have consequences, and Sindri's choice had a terrible consequence, a fate worst than death.
It also had positive consequences for everyone else. Brok came back to life, and went on to crafting the Leviathan Axe with Sindri. The Axe was gifted to Faye, who used it to protect the innocent. She would likely have died fighting Thor without it. Then she and Kratos wouldn't have met, Atreus wouldn't have been born. Kratos would have remained set in his isolationist ways, and Odin would never have been overthrown. Sindri may have doomed Brok to oblivion, but in doing so he saved the Nine Realms.
@milkompukalos what you mean "so what". Broks sacrifice saved billions of lives. He may not have an afterlife but he will be remembered as a hero maybe even a god of forge. I'm hoping in the next games they find a way to get his soul pieces and give him a proper send off
@@noluvsay396Well, that's the theme of Ragnarok, to let it go, Brok accepted his fate, but Sindri didn't and he has to pay the price of it, while his sadness and sorrow is justified, he is not justified to blame Kratos and Atreus for his mistake to gamble with his brother soul.
The way you described his mental state was the only correct way... Sindri is far beyond broken. A broken man can put himself back together. A defeated man though....
We gather to remember the tale of Brok the Unwhole; a blacksmith who never stopped no matter what. He saw through what others couldn't and crafted many items worthy of gods. A loving brother who rests, but cannot access the afterlife.
Unfortunately Sindri has the right to set boundaries, and we-and the characters-must respect those boundaries. Sindri made it clear he wants nothing to do with Kratos and his friends ever again. It would be morally wrong for them to try to force themselves back into his life. The best we can hope for is that Sindri finds a healthier way to grieve and hope he will forgive Kratos and company someday. It’s all they really have a right to do. When someone tells you to stay out of their life, you stay out of their life. It’s so hard. Neither of the Huldras deserved what happened to them, and Sindri is not handling his grief well. Our hearts ache for all who knew and loved Brok, as well as for Brok himself. We love Sindri too; but as a wise musician once said, sometimes, “If you love someone, set them free.” This is one of those times, with Sindri. It was generous of him to even allow us to actively participate in Brok’s funeral, since he blames Kratos and his friends for Brok’s death to begin with. Here… we must simply accept that as condolence and set Sindri free to find his own path out of the mire, and hope he will return to us not… whole again, but somewhat healed.
No, Sindri is the only one to blame for this, he can't forgive them because there is nothing to blame Kratos and Atreus, but himself, he denied his brother peace, an afterlife because he couldn't let it go, and now he has to pay the price of his reckless and selfish decision, no matter how bad he feels, grief is sided with putting blame against other because of your choices, no matter how truth they're the words, if you did that, you have to face that, but one day he will se that he will need help to overcome the pain he is now enduring.
That riddle that Mimir said, Brok and Mimir had a riddle contest, and Mimir couldn't figure it out. Till, this funeral. "What gets bigger, the more you take away" A hole.
The only thing I might've changed about this ending was to have Atreus there in some sort of way. I don't think I would've had him with the group, but maybe in the background standing on a ridge overlooking the funeral. Then sometime before Sindri vanished, Atreus would shift into his wolf form and given a mournful howl. A howl to say goodbye to both of his lost friends. Brok and Sindri.
@@khaled-z7745They're two people to blame, one is the All-Fucker for killing Brok, and the other one is none other than Sindri, who denied his brother an Afterlife. Atreus and Kratos are not to blame, becasue like all of the people at that moment, they were fooled by the one eyed jack.
Sindri could become like Freya and seek vengeance against Kratos and Atreus over the forever loss of his brother. But in the end Sindris selfish desire to bring his brother back as a reanimated corpse wasn't his decision to make it is the nature of life and death. He has to live on knowing he will never see him ever again even in the Light of Alfheim. But without Brok being there as he was we would fall into Odins hands. Everything happened for a reason and broke sacrifice and sindris mistake was somehow a crucial part of winning the war of Asguard.
Your reaction to Brok's funeral is how we all reacted to it, in one way or the other. Can we also see your reaction to the ending after completing the story?
That was my reaction too. The music and imagery he had of a broken man. It just left me crying like a baby. I can’t wait to see the outcome of the people who survived Ragnorak. Also can we see your reactions of the final boss and ending of the game please.
It felt like Sindri wanted to blame kratos and atreus for everything. And to be honest, im sure kratos would have been willing to that burden, but sindri knew deep down that kratos was not at fault. So all that was left is the guilt he has for denying brok an afterlife
Yep, thank you for noticing it, he is the only one to blame for his brother not having an afterlife, Also the All-Fucker for killing him out of annoyance.
I will challenge anyone to this... But God of War Ragnarok is THE GREATEST GAME STORY EVVVVVVVVER!!!!!! In the HISTORY of gaming, no other game has told a story more beautifully than God of War Ragnarok! This scene is one of the most perfect examples... the camera angles, the DIRECTING the MUSIC!.... the fact that THE LAST thing anyone says in the game is Mimir FINALLY solving Brok's riddle, leaving his last question, answered, and yet telling everyone that Brok UNDERSTOOD the emotional side of things VERY WELL! He understood Sindri's pain, he understood the ramifications of war. The thing is, THIS IS ALL OVER THE GAME. This level of brilliance is everywhere in this game... that's why, I CHALLENGE ANYONE to bring a game with a better game story than Ragnarok! FYI, this scene moved me to tears as well.
@@christamcollins7905 Good attempt. RDR2 is a CLOSE 2nd. That is one game I'll have to analyze more closely, but as far as I know Ragnarok is still #1, RDR2, very close by is #2.
I haven’t wept like that over a death in a long time. That it was for a fictional character is a testament to the writing and acting. His initial death was hard enough, but the funeral, the final goodbye, you’d think I was crying for my own brother.
Brok's death indeed was painful, he is one of those people that you can call a real friend despite his "colorful" and no-nonsense way of speaking and doing things, in real life is pretty rare to find people like him, because of that he is my favorite dwarf.
Sindri can't stay angry and blinded by his grudges against Atreus or Kratos forever. He knows too well that everyone in that room was fooled by Odin's disguise as Tyr when Brok was murdered. Sindri will grieve how he chooses but the truth is it can only be for so long before he uses that grief as cloak and a means to push away those who actually want to help him. It's a very real concept in people's struggle to push on when losing someone they love. Atreus made mistakes and let's be honest, who hasn't in this story? I think that's what God Of War has always been about. The nature of human ramifications, especially in the choices gods make. As Kratos once told Atreus.
I wouldnt say secret persay more like true ending to players that dont immediately put the game down when the credits roll to even know there is endgame content left.
