I was looking for the perfect tutorial for primitive paint finish and I found you! Love your process and the way you explain things! Quick question, when you distress with the rag, do you try to do that when the paint is somewhat fresh? Or it doesn’t not really matter... thank you!
Daniela Valle thank you for your kind words! And yes, it does work best when you do it kinda fresh. The paint does need to be dry, but it’s easiest to then distress within a few days. Wait too long and the paint itself has cured. Great question 👏👏👏👏
I’ve got a small pie safe that my brother in law made for my mother years ago and it was just stained and no sealer on it yet and I painted it white but I don’t know what I want to do with it now I’m at a stand still on it because I want it to have this look so can do the same thing that you’re doing with this ? Help me please ! 😁
I really like the combination of the graphite with the red cherrywood - very nice result Rachel - thank you for sharing

Just found this video! Thank you so much for the info. I got the wax via the web but not the brush. It’s expensive! Can you suggest a substitute?
Thanks! I know other ones exist and I am sure there are some good ones, but I don’t know of any to suggest. I only use the Annie Sloan ones.

Hey! Are you looking to distressing the white or change it all to a distressed black?
