    I have to be totally honest watching this fishing series has gotten be excited for the upcoming trout fishing season in PA. I only have a few more cold months to get thru and then it will be fishing season. I hope to get my little girl out more this year. I want her to become her daddy's fishing buddy.

    New to fishing, at what point does a large trout just become called a salmon LOL

    • @bigBallaStout69
      @bigBallaStout69 3 роки тому

      It’s complicated. Salmon are biologically distinguished from trout and char because salmon die after spawning. Atlantic salmon are an exception but are referred to under a different genus (Salmo) than the “true” Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus). Probably more of an answer than you were looking for lol sorry. Size doesn’t typically make a distinction when it comes to species. The biggest trout in the world is bigger than the biggest salmon. Look up taimen. Crazy fish

    Even the small fish would go on most people's walls. I caught two 29-in fish in my life one was all spawned out literally came in like a wet tube sock. The other one I caught in a very small pool in a fast-moving shallow Creek didn't get to fight either one of them the second one was absolutely gorgeous no phone no picture and my friend where's your camera I don't have it any seriously just dropped the fish and back in the water I seriously only got to look at it for about 20 seconds biggest cutthroat I've ever seen in person.

      Every place has different regulations and there are slot limits on the fish you are able to keep for this lake. We choose not to keep any of the fish we caught but it is possibly for some if you follow the rules. We're into the salmon, halibut and all types of salt water fish to keep and cook but don't keep trout too often.
      Still a ton of fun with you can release them and let them continue to grow for another opportunity down the road.
