That first river is my favorite to fish on the entire west coast

There's not much for fish on the Peninsula anymore. Most fish caught these days are the few hatchery runs and then it's combat fishing for a couple days. They pulled out the dams but even rivers that never had dams are missing fish.

Really?? We still have prettt good fisheries on the OP sure it’s not what it was 20 years ago but there is plenty of big wild fish to be caught still up there

@@shaunlehman9158 Pretty good? As compared to what? Oregon, Idaho, Montana? There's no comparison.

@@shaunlehman9158We all know, at least those of us who have been around a while, that the fisheries are nothing like they were and continuing to get worse year by year. You say it's still pretty good but what are you comparing too? I am comparing what I know from my personal experience fishing the rivers and the saltchuck since 1970. I remember Humpy runs in the Dungeness thick enough you could walk across the river on them. Pt Angeles had a Salmon Derby that was the biggest event of the year and most of the fish were caught not far from the spit in 16' Pacific Mariners. But what do I know.

@@vanman3752 yeah I’m not comparing it to the same river 15-25 years ago. We all know it’s not what it was in the past But it’s still a pretty good fisheries (like I stated previously) compared to what.. I mean really do I need to list a handful or rivers in Washington and Oregon that have completely fallen off from the runs they were in the past

Just wondering what rods you are using

Personally I was using a 12’8 7 wt, but we had a mix of rods for the trip with some 11 foot rods for the smaller rivers.

@@EeRock507 Looking at this weather, I think you're right. I'm guessing it's late winter or early spring time at some point. Lots of leaves on the ground and trees with empty branches. This is coming from a local
Edit: Okay, just got to the part where they were getting snowed/hailed on at 10:05. It's definitely some time in the winter lol

Feb, Mar, April are all good for wild winters.
