    Unfortunately, most US carriers don't allow xiaomi usage for cell service. I still use a Poco F3 and had to resort to T-Mobile, which is terrible where I'm at. If that 14 was allowed on at&t, I'd pick one up.
    Crazy Antutu score though. Great performance.

    • @kyleklukken4089

      They will allow them just fine as long as the phone is unlocked and supports the proper carrier Cell bands. They won't carry them but they will work fine. I used a Huawei up until the LTE switch over on AT&T and mine didn't support the proper bands otherwise it would still be working fine.

    • @lexlopez15
      @lexlopez15 11 місяців тому

      @@kyleklukken4089I doubt it would. Huawei was banned in the u.s. a few yrs ago...I've been rocking xiaomi phones on T-Mobile for the past few yrs. They usually tell you what bandwidth works with it in the description. You can also call the carrier to see if they support such a phone... usually, phones from overseas support the GSM bandwidth which is available on a few carriers like T-Mobile but not at&t or Verizon.

      So far I've used 3 or 4 Chinese phones on T-Mobile with xiaomi being the best. I was considering this phone but the price is too outrageous for me. (Close to $1,500)... The global version is due in Feb. 2024 which might have different specs to bring the price down...but not by much I don't think... I'll just wait a few yrs for the price to come down, by then they'll be on xiaomi 17 or 18. I'm planning to upgrade my redmi not 10 with the note 11 soon.

    You not being able to go more than 5x resolution on GoW Chains of Olympus with a 8 Gen 2 is a clear signal that you're being limited by the software. My Poco F3 with Snapdragon 870 can get up to 7x resolution on this game, with 8x the framerate starts dropping below 60. The Adreno 740 in the 8 Gen 2 has almost 3x the power of Adreon 650 in the Snapdragon 870, the hardware is clearly not the problem here. I don't know about Samsung, but on Xiaomi you need to add the games and emulators to the "Game Turbo" list, so you unlock higher clocks to CPU/GPU. But 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3 are so powerful that can run all this even when limited.

    I have the 10T Pro and LOVE the phone. I don't do enough with my phone to warrant me getting a new one until the one I have breaks, since my 3 year old phone doesn't even have a scratch on it, it might be quite some time before I need a new one. I think the difference in case is whether it's a pro model or not, the pro gets the better black case, while non-pro gets a cheap clear plastic one. I think it's hilarious that the new IPhone 15 is making such a big deal about a 48MP camera, when my 3 YEAR OLD phone has a 108MP camera, and can shoot video at 8K/30FPS or 4K/60FPS. At the time of purchase, I could have bought 3 of these phones for the price of the IPhone.

    Seeing such great gaming performance is really awesome, and gets me super excited for the basicly 0 gaming I do on my phone, especially taking into account that my current and previous phones have what was the flagship Qualcomm SoC when I bought them (SD 888 and SD 845 respectively). Modern phones are too expensive nowadays, flagship killer phones with top tier SoCs at a midrange price don`t seem to exist anymore, and most manufacturers stop supporting older phones before the hardware becomes obsolete, so as cool and impressive as all this performance is, I`m not sure it`s worth it, alteast for someone like me who finds that the only games that actually work well on a phone (input methods, ergonomics, and the general method of interaction with the game) are the types of games that don`t need or take advantage of all that power, and also the types of games I don`t enjoy playing, aside from the odd quick distraction
    From a pure technical standpoint though, and ignoring my rant about phone prices and my issues with touch controls in most games aside, that is some genuinly impressive performance, and I hope we`ll see a similar uplift in lower tier devices as well

      I can say that rhythms games profit a lot from the touchscreen, it's great, but most of the time they don't need all that power either lol

      "flagship killer phones with top tier SoCs at a midrange price don`t seem to exist anymore". Lol the POCO F5 with 8gb ram Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset goes toe on toe with the snapdragon 8+ gen 1 all for about $350. There are a lot of flagship killer chipsets but most brands dont bother putting that in mid range phones (especially samsung).

    • @andreanastacio9548
      @andreanastacio9548 11 місяців тому

      @@wesley.zago120 my last 2 phones have been "flagship killers" (Poco f1 and Realme GT), because of the high end performance at a midrange price (and other flahsip features like 120hz oled screen, in screen fingerprint sensor and 65w fast charging in the case of the realme), but I`ve found that while having all that performance is nice, I almost never find myself actually needing it, android (admitedly rarely) stutters and locks up even on the best SoC, and it was already kind of painfull to pay the launch discount price of 500€ on the Realme...
      I might buy another phone with a flagship SoC if another flagship killer comes out with a featureset and pricetag that get me excited, otherwise I`ll stick with my current phone untill it dies, or until midrange phones offer a meaningful performance improvement over my SD888.

    I have seen a few real-life tests, and the Xiaomi 14 Pro is similar to the SD8G2 for most tests. Maybe it is Xiaomi's poor optimisation, or that it is clocked lower than the limits, or the thermals, which are bad, but it is unimpressive compared to the benchmarks that are usually in performance mode, so for 90% of users are irrelevant.
    For anyone with an SD8G2, the obvious applies: don't bother at all, as little else is upgraded worthy of note. The iPhone 15PM was a significant upgrade because Apple delayed its new GPU and 3nm chip last year. The SD8G3 phones will need a lot of marketing to shift, and for anyone even coming from older phones, my best advice is to pass and wait for the next-gen Oryon, which will be a significant upgrade compared to this.

Like why Android cannot run decently, especially for a simple game like Minecraft? For Samsung, you dont just flat out get 45w charging, how fast your charging is depends on the phones battery level, when around 20% or so is when 45w charging would be enabled BUT lessens as it charges.
