This is by far my favorite model from Spyderco. I have the extreme pleasure of owning something made with your expertise, finally. It's been a long time coming. The pricing and choice of materials is chefs kiss. Congratulations on your success Shawn! You’re my hero! Warmest regards, Seth

Holy sheet. They are in stock everywhere. Everyone and their little brother is still gonna complain sprint runs are unfair and wa, wa, wa. Thanks for this steel BBB. All I've carried for the past year is 15v
@@FearNoSteel yeah I am a massive 10v fan too……. My fav steels are 10v/k390 followed up by rex 45…… gpknives just released that amazing rex 45 smock and i was able to grab one. I just dont like the way the smock carries or feels in hand. The para 3 feels perfect to me. I just ordered the bbb 15v para 3 lw cuz i love everything you do with these steels. For pure cutting ability my para 3 maxamet has been my king. But, it gets lil rust spots i gotta keep it clean and oiled. Finally its starting to patina some so i wont have to worry about rust as bad. But i know its brittle, i know i will never use that knife to turn a screw head, or pry a small rivet. And from what I understand, the 15v is much the same, we shall see.
@catchofthedave8681 nah, there's just a lot of grumpy haters. The 15v absolutely will be tougher than Maxamet and Rex 121. I don't really see anybody complaining about the toughness of S90v and M390, yet these same folks that give these stainless steels a pass seem to always want to throw 15V under the bus which I think is funny. Also, I've noticed the biggest complaints come from people that haven't tried the 15V so I recommend trying it before listening to self proclaimed experts on reddit.
I can't wait to pick one up. Been loving the 15V Shaman since I got it, was not able to pick up a Manix but gonna get the Para 3. Keep up the great work Shawn.
Well I'm very happy to hear that. I hope this one also lives up to the enjoyment the others have been giving you. I know I'm certainly excited to get one in my pocket after so long.
@@FearNoSteel I'm 100% certain It will. 15V with your protocol has been an absolute joy, so getting a Para 3 (and hopefully a Yojimbo when available) will be exciting stuff. As the Shaman doesn't get as much use anymore, mostly because I'm testing other steel and knives. But a Para 3 lwt I can always have space to carry or have in the backpack.
OK. A little Mr. Rogers' neighborhood vibe...I like it 😅 Long time no see on the youtubes... Ordered mine yesterday. Did an HRC search and came up with nothing, so that was great to see. I missed out on the other releases and was glad when i got a KnifeCenter email that mentioned your Para 3. I had resisted buying another knife for months, but had to throw down for this one. Ordered! I have daily-carried the 15V PM2 for about a year and a half, opened tons of boxes, cut straps, etc., and it still cuts paper like a laser! Nothing I've had even comes close on edge-retention.
Love that 15v goodness, hope to pic one of these lightweights up. My manix has been my daily driver since I got it with the exception of formal occasions. Think we need a fancy slip joint in 15v for those special occasions.
My friend and I ordered this one. Can’t wait to try it. Would like to see Spyderco also offer it in a Delica or Sage series in the future in that 15v steel.
Oh yes. I want that to happen aswell I never was a big fan of shaman, para 2, 3, native or delica. Military, police, caribbean or stretch 2 are the way to go.
Shawn, I'm really curious to see the hrc of the PM2 in Rex76. The edge stability seems to be stellar. I was cutting through aluminum cans on the factory edge with no deformation.
@ No, I have not. I am just curious about what is special about the protocol. Thermal cycling? Double cryo? Higher Soak? Faster quench? Prequench? Preheat? High or low tempering? If would be really nice if you can give a hint, what makes the microstructure special/ different form standard HT?
I got mine for $136 from national knives. If the 15v here holds up as well as it has in the pm2 they did before, then that represents just an absolutely insane deal.
