Thank you for the pain that you go through for us! So much appreciated! ❤
Wallet pain?
15V to the MAX, 12 or even 10dps next please. ;D
Your hands surely cant wait.
Wow! I’ve been watching for years and I’ve never seen any steel do 2000 cuts of your rope. Nice job Spyderco. Thanks for wrecking your arm for us Peter 🔪🎸
AMAZING! My condolences to your arm. Thank you for doing these Pete! Congratulations are deserved to go to Shawn and the Spyderco team for getting these out to us! Love this!
shawn is a real hero of knife enthusiasts
I'm so proud of BBBs work coming to customers through Spyderco. He's worked so hard for enthusiasts. I've followed him and you for years. Great work both of you!
The intro of his Police 4 K390 video is pure gold !
You could use the chopped up fiber to create knife handles, id love to watch a video of you working with Resin
Great idea tbh
Maxamet has been Dethroned! Good work Pete this is an astronomical result! BBB and spyderco really knocked it out of the park!
Make 15v a production run plz!!!😂
This is Dan from Husk knives, based on your testing our new ad campaign will recommend customers just buy 100 knives to match that edge retention of that meh Spyderho.
Jokes aside you have me more excited about my 15v paramilitary. Thank you for the video Pete and may your hands enjoy a relaxing weekend.
I bet that it would take 200 of those garbage Husk knives to equal the cutting ability of the 15v.
Especially, with BBB's heat treatment...
@@jeffersonhenn1086 How many Edsels are equal to a Cadillac?
Bricky looks fab with a custom toupee.
yeah! takes a hell of a steel to unintentionally trump-ify Bricky.
Bricky’s fly is also open and he has a hard on. What too soon?
Looks great as a blonde
Holy cow! That’s insane! Thanks for continuing to do your thing, Pete. Yes, it’s only one type of testing. But, it’s a consistent test type for comparing a huge number of steels against one another. What you do is extremely valuable and interesting to knife enthusiasts, and I always look forward to your next test video.
Wow you literally put blood sweat and tears into these videos. We appreciate you more then you know. Thanks Pete. Love the content.
I was, indeed, surprised.
No clickbait here.
that drop of the jnife into his lap though... 😂
The older I get the more my hands hurt doing knife stuff, especially sharpening. Thanks, Pete. Welcome to age
Rust test time! That one's gonna hurt 😬
Just keep it clean and dry. I don’t see how hard that is to do. Iv not had but 1 blade rust on me. Which was a chef knife made out of some crappy steel
seems pointless since everybody knows that this steel will rust if not taken care of.
@@trustmeimfromaustria just like everyone knew the edge retention would be insane, and yet we're still here. Pete knows that M4 rusts easily and holds an edge for a long time, and yet he's tested it's rust resistance and edge retention several times on different knives.
We know what to expect, but the results of these tests are still interesting, valuable, and fun to watch.
@@knifeaddict1014 I came to the conclusion that it just really matters where you live.
At the sea you def want stainless with all the salt in the air.
Away from the sea, enjoy toolsteel.
But honestly, i wouldnt mind only having Magnacut for the rest of my live. Which does both.
@@trustmeimfromaustria theres really a lot of people who know nothing about it.
When you meet new people and they're like "dang your right arm is huge you must spend alot of time alone".......you say "nah mate I test cut knives" first dude "riiiight" 🤣
2000 is a lot no matter how you slice it.
I'll see myself out.
Thank you for your dedication. Now I need to buy another PM2….
This is nuts. Thank you for your service.
Grrr, thought I was done buying knives, after several I landed on my maxamet pm2 mainly because it cuts a lot of cardboard at work without sharpening. But NOW I want one of these and their a stupid stupid sprint run lol. Anyway, love your rope test
Holy shit man. Not sure if I'm more impressed by the steel or your tenacity with testing. I wasn't sure what to expect performance-wise, but it sure as shit did not disappoint. Kudos on the undertaking
Makes me happy I picked up a shaman in this steel.
UNLEASH THIS TO THE MAXXXXXX!!!!!!!! Bring it back baby!!!!!
Great steel! Thanks for your effort, Pete!
Were will it end. That’s absolutely incredible.
Another great video. Thank you for all of your hard work.
This was great Pete thank you for all your efforts 😊
This makes me feel even better about my Shaman 15V :D
Pretty cool!!! Unbelievable results indeed
That’s an amazing effort, thanks Pete. It looks like an awesome steel.
Great test. Thanks for the video.
Amazing. I’ve been carrying mine since I got it and love it.
Thanks Pete for showing us this steel and your torture test.
I watched this again today, it's just that good, please don't stop doing these !
Pete gives the people what they want !!
I was under the impression 15v was analogous to something like Maxamet. But after seeing the edge on the macro after that much cutting it is clear to me that 15v is in a whole new class entirely
This is an awesome time to be into knives! And what's more amazing is they're not too hard to sharpen! Thanks and well done!
Way cool. You'll have to add that cutting test to your chart! Impressive, especially with the handle of the PM 2.
It's the 2nd best handle for me lol
@@The4cp I tried using it for some rough work where I had to apply a lot of force. The edges of the handle are not kind to my hands. Could be an aging/arthritis thing. Prefer the handle of my Microtech SOCOM Elite.
Great blade on the PM2
I love these videos. I appreciate all your hard work!
Thanks for all your hard work Pete!!! You’re by far my favourite knife-tuber…
Awesome steel! Pretty good stamina yourself too. Thanks.
Thank you for your sacrifice. Incredible steel! I hope to get my hands on the Mule in 15v next week
I think your testing is as good as I’ve seen, you replicate everyday knife use very well. Thanks for going to the trouble, it helped me with a tough decision.
When I was looking for a knife with good edge retention or rust resistance. I mostly go off your reviews. Thanks for this test. 👍🏼
It is a very impressive result but not once, not even at the beginning, was I surprised! I am still chewing away at the factory edge! Rarely have I had a knife where I was more curious about what the factory edge will do vs how it sharpens!
💪🏻👏🏻❤
Nice to see the Huusk get a cameo too.
Thank you so much for those tests, much better than theory
Wow! Thanks Pete. I knew it would be good but had no idea it would beat Maxamet & Rex 121... !
Dude the title of the video is exactly should be.This 15V steel leve me speechless, absolutely amazing man!!!
Lmao!!! I so almost hit u with a comment saying ur barn door's opened, don't let the hog out. But I felt bad. I guess some of the others didn't have that same feeling. It's all fun tho hopefully no one was too brutal. Also, I couldn't wait for the follow-up to the factory edge test so I'm gonna go finish watching now✌️ and happy to see ur return!
Ohhhh baby, I’ve been waiting for this!
Damn! That's pretty incredible!
Thank you so much!
As a long time knife and especially steel enthusiasts I appreciate the rope test. You know cutting cardboards finding all? But you know sometimes they go with the corrugated part and then sometimes they go through the corrugated part so I don't think it's as consistent. As your rope test appreciate your Cedric!
I’m impressed. I didn’t realize how real the hype actually was
😱😱😱😱now that thing can cut👍way 2 go Shawn and Spyderco 👏👌 Thanks for the vid Pete, that was marathon 😅
Zip ties and some cardboard are about all I cut that would challenge any edge. This test is amazing.
Now that's a real 'super' steel by anyone's definition. Thanks for showing. Sharp blades all.
You're the man. Ty for the pain and time.
wow great job brother
THANKS PETE FOR ALL YOUR WORK, GOOD JOB!! BRICKY COULD LEND A HAND?
TY Mr Ropeman
It made me want one now.
I feel bad cause Pete’s never gonna want to use this steel because of the horrid bone cracking pain he has endured for the sake of this channel. Thank you for all the cut tests good sir!
Wow, thank you for what u do! Crazy
I have just received my mule team in 15v, now i just need to order a ball of twine...
Impressive. Most impressive.
Thanks!
As a knifemaker, I have lots of 2x72 ceramic belts laying around. Recently I attached an 80 grit strip to a glass blank with 2 sided tape, and used that to establish a bevel on a new knife. Granted it was s35vn, but it did a great job. I walked the grit ups to 400, and was really happy.
Goes faster than using a 220 diamond plate ! Since Im OCD I set the bevels on the knives i make on stones but it is way long... Im gonna try this, thanks for the idea !!
Awesome video.
I did notice the fly thing, thought you were easing the other tattoo. Thank you and your arm for doing this cut test. The testers that I’m aware of Tom, Gerald, Michael christy, and super steve seem to have taken breaks. Gabe’s testing is different in nature, and Stassa’s is more qualitative. If I missed someone please feel free to respond.
Fantastico! I guess its 15v vs maxamet next, Gabe edge of course
Farken 'ell, Pete! That's INSANE.
Yay Bricky 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Knife nerds version of a mic-drop there at the end. Superb!
Dam that was Amazing 😮.
Solid intro
Bricky looks like Boris Johnson!
I sincerely hope you do not end up with serious carpal tunnel, or any other physical issues from your knife activities. Good Job!
You always struck me as a habitual willie-flasher!!!
Good Edge Cut Awesome
Honestly removing (or just moving) the clip on a test like this would probably help with the hand fatigue. One of the main reasons I started doing tip up carry is it puts the clip in a natural follow of the hand and not right where I'm trying to grip tightly.
Definitely noticed the fly...🤫
Nice jacket.
Awesome test, could you do another short video of how it strops back afyer all that cutting?
Now the hard part: actually getting one of these
After the initial drops, there were/are plenty on the facebook/reddit/forums selling for about the same price as the street price - they made a decent amount of PM2s and Shamen
I’ll sell you one lol
Great video. Hope you can test the Bark River Fin & Bone sometime
Great video... I filmed 850 feet of cardboard as a cut test... and QUIT.. It felt like that tootsie roll commercial. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll lolly pop?
I love the steel, easy to sharpen \ de-burr, holds an edge for a ridiculous time, takes a hair popping edge. I hope 15v becomes a standard Spyderco offering and not a one off. Thanks for the video! : )
Thank u ❤
Other worldly!
Too bad 15V so hard to get. Great test and video Pete.
Sal said if there's enough interest it'll make it to production. I'd say there's interest!
I been dying to see how your test comes out.
I have both Maxamet and 15v in Para 2's. The 15v chips far less than the Maxamet. The 15v can be run at a far shallower angle than the Maxamet also. I have to run Max. at 18 degrees or more and the 15v can be run at 15 although 17 is the best for all around performance. The 15v sharpens much better also. Spyderco and BBB knocked it out of the park with their collaboration, and this steel/knife will be a 'grail' knife for years to come if Spyderco doesn't start mass producing 15v blades. (I hope they do!) Don't worry about carpal tunnel Pete, the fix is a 15 minute procedure after you go through the long and tedious setup that all surgery's take. I had both hands done 20 years ago and no problems since.
OK, you've convinced me,,, 15v is OK steel,, 😍😍😍
Lol I got a Huusk ad watching this and I chuckled at the irony
Good, Thx
thanks
Very nice
AHH! You scared me...
