You can easily tell what generation this guy is from with this list (Read to end) - The original Wolfenstein is not better than the original Doom what the fuck? - Doom 3 is NOT among the best Doom games - The new Wolfensteins and 2009 were NOT developed by ID - Quake 4 . . . getting any positive comments To each their own though . . . but I do have some legitimate criticism In all honesty it's feels like you're judging all these games off the graphics and gameplay by TODAY's standards. If you don't enjoy older games that's fine, but multiple times you said "not really anything worthwhile these days" or implied something of the sort. It's not really fair to judge games from the early 90s by the standards of modern 2010 era games, obviously they're going to feel dated, the same way ALL older games feel dated. It really feels like you put a bit too much emphasis on the graphics, which doesn't feel fair because ID is one of the oldest studios still operating in the PC scene. I can tell you were trying to put yourself in the time period when you would say "way ahead of it's time", but that didn't seem to apply to every game. If you're only ranking games from one studio, then you just need to have a consistent standard for the studio. Comparisons to any other games, or grading against a modern scale doesn't need to apply. The commentary really makes it feels like your comparing against modern titles. I grew up with these games, so of course I have some bias, but I just felt like this list was missing some consistency in terms of what was being attributed to the time period and what was actual critiques. And of course, don't throw games from Machine Games and Raven Software in the mix if your focus is just games DEVELOPED by ID :) Hopefully this was constructive criticism, it seems there are a number of harsh comments with no criticism at all. I'll be on my way and will leave a like
No offense but some of the games on this list aren't ID Software. (Quake 4,- ID only supervised it, and provided their id tech 4 engine. it was mostly Developed by Raven software. Newer Wolfenstein games were made by MachineGames ) Since ID Software did publish Hexen, I can't see why that can't be on the list.
But it's still kinda their IP, so we could count that. Hell, midway did develop DOOM 64, with a little bit of involvement from id since it's their IP. I do agree with heretic and hexen though
I don't agree with lumping commander keen 1-3 up with 4 onward since they're significantly different. The first 3 are similar, but after that they're very different.
You're right, but given that they are in the franchise he added them because he's demonstrating how the newer Wolfenstein isn't as good as the older ones, though I suppose it wouldn't have hurt to include that they weren't made by the same people in the vid.
Also you clearly didn't play enemy territory... They really as far from generic FPS than you can get... Damn I wonder why they don't make multiplayer games like them.
Why did you leave out the quake mission packs Scourge of Armaggon and Dissolution of eternity and the Quake 2 mission packs Ground zero and the reckoning
Hexen doesn't count but Wolfenstein does? id didn't develop ANY of the new/reboot Wolfensteins. Ditto Enemy Territories. Rage 2 was made by Avalanche. They didn't make Final Doom. And why are you counting expansions? Ironically, Quake 4 and Wolfenstein 2009 were made by the creators of Hexen! The majority of the games in this video weren't even made by id LMAO The laughable lack of research is seriously making me doubt your other content.
ABOUT QUAKE 2 16:38 You talk like you played all these games... You say that Quake 2 is short and has 3 hubs.. Quake 2 has something like 8 Units (=hubs) if I remember and I feel it is a pretty long game. Am I wrong? Is it just a feeling of mine? I saw on "how long to beat" and it seems to be longer than Quake 1 and slightly longer than Quake 4. You say 2-3 hubs and a boss.. are you sure you did actually play the game or did you just watch a UA-cam gameplay that ended with the first boss (super-tank)?? 😅
@@CrackedRackOfficial ;- D If it was a personal opinion video with honesty and explicit on what you played and not and what you liked and disliked playing or just watching, it would have been a great video
I'm going back to this video and I know a lot of people are commenting "oh well some picks aren't an ID Software game, do more research, this list sucks, etc. etc.". I will take responsibility for writing a good chunk of the script of this video with CrackedRack, and I totally understand the criticisms but the reason they were added to show that they are still part of the same series and I guess in a strange way offer to show how the Wolfenstein series has evolved. Could the title of the video and other things about this video be done differently? Perhaps, but this video isn't meant to be taken too seriously and is for entertainment purposes. Everything is subjective and you're allowed to have your own opinion as CrackedRack and myself are allowed to share ours.
Nice list, but I would swap Doom Eternal with Doom (2016). As for me, everything Doom (2016) did right, Doom Eternal did wrong. And it felt for me like a chore to go through. Not to mention, now I can't even play it because it forces me to turn off and back on graphic cards. And I do wish to ruin my laptop because of it.
This guy definitely grew up in the ps2/Xbox to ps3/Xbox360 generations
How did you not know that Id had nothing to do with the new Wolfenstein games? This list is so confusing.
Yeah this guy clearly doesnt know what hes talking about

"They don't feel like authentic WW2 games." They don't have to, MG can take their own spin on the franchise.
No offense but some of the games on this list aren't ID Software. (Quake 4,- ID only supervised it, and provided their id tech 4 engine. it was mostly Developed by Raven software. Newer Wolfenstein games were made by MachineGames )

And Rage 2 by avalanche
But it's still kinda their IP, so we could count that. Hell, midway did develop DOOM 64, with a little bit of involvement from id since it's their IP.
I do agree with heretic and hexen though
Quake wasn’t the first FPS to use 3D polygons, Terminator Future Shock predates it, though it was more primitive!
It's look like it was on the same level as Duke3D, certain objects were 3D, but enemy characters were sprites.
The new Wolfenstein games are not made by id.
Yeah first thing that jumps out at you.
I don't agree with lumping commander keen 1-3 up with 4 onward since they're significantly different. The first 3 are similar, but after that they're very different.
Do better research and actually write a script that has more details before making these types of videos
"Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is essentially Enemy Toryterri Quake Wars"... TORYTERRI LOL 11.47
You put new wolf games on here but is that not machine games and not id?
You're right, but given that they are in the franchise he added them because he's demonstrating how the newer Wolfenstein isn't as good as the older ones, though I suppose it wouldn't have hurt to include that they weren't made by the same people in the vid.

Yea and Rage 2 by avalanche don't take this video serious
Also you clearly didn't play enemy territory... They really as far from generic FPS than you can get... Damn I wonder why they don't make multiplayer games like them.
CrackedRack said nice things about Doom 3 and placed it highly! I WILL take him seriously!
I didn’t find wolfenstein Youngblood too too bad but I still understand why everyone still hates it a lot I’m the same
Just because a game is unknown doesn't mean it's terrible.
The new wolfenstein games arent made by id :(
Why did you leave out the quake mission packs Scourge of Armaggon and Dissolution of eternity and the Quake 2 mission packs Ground zero and the reckoning
11:49 "Enemy Torritery"
This is confused and ill informed but good effort my guy, at least you included some obscure stuff.

Not my best video tbh

Why Heretic and Hexen are out and Wolfenstein new trilogy... Are in (Technically they are the same only id published games) with id oversight
This video was very disappointing. I would have liked to hear something besides either: "This game kicks ass" "This game is a waste of time."
This vid needs more attention
i love rage
Quake: Enemy territory is weird, I can’t tell if it’s a official squeal or what. Cool game still.
Chad DOOM 3 and Wolf 2009 enjoyer
Spear of destiny higher than TNC and both Rages ???? Crazy
stop comparing games with graphics
I disliked and left the video when he mentioned wolfenstein 2
i did as well lol. Wolfenstein 2 is incredible.
I did at Rage 2, anyway I can't believe he thinks Spear of Destiny is better than TNC. Spear of Destiny is trash
23:10 nice rick roll, noone plays doom 3 Vanilla because of lighter.
Id software is the from software of fps games
There are bad ones?
I think you put doom and doom II too low those are classics and fun!
The Old Blood is awesome.
I like ur content man
Ok i went to see the channel and unsubscribed sorry
Why
crackedrack more like cracked rock,

You really did your research on this one.
You honestly seem to hate every single one of these games somehow. Why bother making a list?
Untrue I adore Wolfenstein, this is also mostly my friends list who is extremely passionate about Id
Nice video, quite entertaining, though i would like to know why you said Doom 3 BFG Edition is an insult to the original, genuinely curios?
Nice list, but I would swap Doom Eternal with Doom (2016). As for me, everything Doom (2016) did right, Doom Eternal did wrong. And it felt for me like a chore to go through. My man put doom 3 high rly
