How many times are you going to give us this tired, old, boring, speech about tax season? Give it up. We’re sick of it.
@@timvirginia6327 then don't watch
I’ve been doing flipping from home for a little over a year .. from home I’m able to sell up to 13 cars a month
That’s from Copart through a broker, I can only imagine when I get my dealer license and I’m able to offer financing that will open amazing doors for me
God bless you man !!! 🙏
@@timvirginia6327 sounds like someone who can't seem to capitalize on tax season is mad. Waaaaahhhhhh! Poor lil baby.
and the 100k from fripfor a ferrari?
No timing belt on the WRX - chain once they went to the FA20 engine.
I own an RV dealership and tax season used to be a big deal the biggest time of the year for me that along with the first few weeks before summer but honestly since Covid it really isn’t anymore it don’t matter what time it is stuff just moves at a rapid pace winter summer fall Christmas easter no matter what if I got it and it’s priced right it’s gone within 72 hours a week if it’s a super high dollar unit everyone is preaching doom and gloom for the economy and maybe that’s true but it hasn’t shown up for me yet I’m fresh off a week of selling 3 diesel pushers for a 5 figure profit on each one
You going for the record of the longest sentence?
@@jeanducheamps7697 no I just have better things to do with my life then treat UA-cam comments like an English exam
Not everyone bought their Telluride for way over MSRP. I bought mine in October 2021, paid MSRP. Yes, the dealer wasn't local, The local guy was charging $10K to $15K over MSRPs, depending on model. I got my 2022 SX AWD NF for MSRP by shopping around and being patient. Paying too much is a choice.
Enjoyed the video. It's also nice when you explain the simple business steps. The first thing is savings. Sadly it's not really in the curriculum. You may want to have the mechanic Dave show some of the problems and how to detect. Like the coolant leak. Thanks.
"I can tell they were married"
I've been married for 16 years. In that time I've put over 500,000km on the 5 cars I've owned. None of them have had a mangled steering wheel like that! My Evo X I bought new and sold at 210,000km and the steering wheel was like new.
That person wasn't married, that person was hard on their gear!
I think most people forget if the bank takes the vehicle back and takes a dumper, they take that dumper balance and hit the purchaser back as taxable income. You don't just walk away thinking you're good to go.
School bus: I met a ton of people online and when I was travelling and we all got together in Cinci and the host in that city drove a school bus. She was the DD and picked us all up in a big yellow school bus. Keep your limo and stretched hummer, a school bus was a riot.....and yes, she had a wooden ruler if we got outta hand lol....
A car can absolutely overheat without the gauge showing it if the coolant is low or empty.
Awesome video as always! My favorite auto UA-cam channel!
Great to see someone rise up and be successful!
great info , great video, love the editting and pace of the content . and the bonus cameo of Papa AL the great! auction days and revealing how you brought an ugly duck back to life , definitely my favorite!
Informative, fun and entertaining. Thanks Craig love your videos and your family your a very lucky man.
Great video- thank you Craig for your wisdom and practical advice.
Craig I have to say I love hearing your father talk! He should start his own channel! He is so knowledgeable, I love his outlook on the mecum auction! Enjoy your time with him, and buy him a 70 T/A 455 add!!!
Thank you I agree, Craig buy me that 70 T/A!!! haha

Great video! Loads of information and super helpful.
I lost my parents young I really wanna do what you do and I love watching your videos they make my day 🙌🏻
Great content. Motivates me to purchase my next (inexpensive personal) car before April and then sell my (too big for the driveway) Tahoe after the 1st week of April.
This was a great video. I was entertained and educated the whole time
you’re my inspiration craig. im getting my license soon and hope to be as successful as you. thanks for the tips you’re a good man.
I love reading this stuff. Good luck and thank you
Great video you’re very helpful and informative and don’t try to hide anything. I’m waiting on my license to come in. Recently moved back to Texas and going into the car bizz. Dumping a lot of money into it, would like to hear more from you on floor planning or a line of credit. The good and the bad of it. Thinking that might be a good move for me starting out until I have enough personal capital to go to auction and buy cash
Great video really informative on the backside of the business. I also like that you don’t use credit/floor plan to fund your inventory and run your business. Great job your business will continue to grow with how you run it.
Great video Craig! appreciate the information.
I just picked up an 08 BMW 128i convertible for 1800. The car was in very nice condition until the owners son crashed it.
Deployed the drivers airbags. Tripped the anti roll bars out back. Took out the core support, radiator, and AC Condenser.
I went to a U Pull it. Grabbed the entire core support, rad, ac condenser, and everything else needed for only 515. Including the airbags!
The reason why this cars such a home run is the following.
1- owner paid for the other vehicles car in cash to avoid going through insurance.
Therefore its a clean title car. And the accident is not listed on carfax.
2- i own a body shop. A repair like this is an easy 2 weeks start to finish.
The car retails for 11k all day. Its white, light gray interior, black vinyl top. Interior has no rips.
I am a dealer in Ct. and see first hand everything you are describing, you are a very smart dealer nice work
The eclipse is 09-12 (not 05) because of that front bumper, I own a 09. Was my first car, still driving strong almost 5 years later
I love your video's and been watching for over 3 years and i learned so much
Just my $.02 DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, borrow money from friends or family… cost me 2 very good friends., or what I thought were good friends, expensive lesson learned and when it all shook out I’m better off without the borrowers in my life it’s the fallout from mutual acquaintances.
Great video I learn so much from you thank you much appreciate it
Very informative vid Craig!
Try liquid laundry detergent diluted 32:1 like gain or tide liquid with bleach for carpet and seats ! You will love the results.
When u said the Escalade was smoking and not overheating. The first thing I thought of was the heater inlet hose
Really good video. A ton of useful info.
Fantastic informative video as always
Thank you for your words of knowledge.
Craig do a video on what exact months you buy these cars
Hey Craig. Love you channel and you have inspired me to try and get into the car flipping business (and eventually a dealership). However, I'm just a bit bummed that i have NONE of the start up/funding options you mentioned. No friends/family to borrow from/partner with, No start up capital, No line of credit anywhere, NO credit card options, nothing to leverage with etc etc etc. Im down and out, retrenched/ unemployed for 3yrs and almost zero support. Im basically the handicapped guy thats given a pedal powered wheelchair! Are the odds against me.....most definitely!!! Am i gonna quit...nope. Somehow...someway.....im going to make it! Thanks again for the inspirational and entertaining vids. Keep up the great work!
Just got a Tesla Model 3 LR. Looking forward to you finally getting a Tesla to see what you think. I like it a lot more than I thought I would.
Smart business man Craig 👊🏼
Around 10:30 reminded me of how I overpaid for my Scion, but fortunately it's a Toyota, and it'll probably outlive me so I don't really mind that I paid so much for it
Great channel enjoyed so much
Thank you!
Craig you are amazing. Your energy level is wonderful I am a 70 year old Wholesaler I run about five to seven cars a week at Mannheim California even at my age every time I watch your blog, I learn something thank you you are the greatest
Thank you
Hey Frank, hoping you could share some wisdom on how to be successful as a wholesaler. I’m currently a retail dealer in Tennessee. Thanks!
Good info!
Your auction videos are great
Fa20 wrx are timing chain, the cam timing sprockets break on them its pretty common
Craig you are such a great car guy. I know did the same.myou really care about your customers. The government has messed up the tax seasons. Why can they let good things alone. You are Sharp.
Great advice. Every time I sold Subaru I made sure it is done. Extra assurance
10,400 for a WRX you got a steal!!!
Let’s get drunk, have a drink every time Craig said “tax season”
I can't drink "that much" anymore! Too old.
☠️
I've got a son in the car business. Every other word out his mouth is "tax season". He loves the income tax and withholding. Says it's the best thing government ever did.
Great video as always, Greg I remember in one of your last videos you ones had a dealers license in the state of florida my question is do you know if you can get a dealers plate for transport with a wholesale license in Florida? Thank you for your time👍🏻
You cannot
The Mitsubishi has a CVT transmission
Hell ya on the 2000 avalon. Thats a gem, easy money.
Great video series..
I'm a car enthusiast as well..
How do you handle other bidders at the auctions?
Personally. I don't like auctions when buying..
However. When selling it's toleratedble..
I guess you have to have 5 - 6 potential vehicles to bid on and hope no one out bids you..
Any tips are welcome.. thanks!
Hey curious, did you ever tell
The channel what your choice was on your lake house? Rented out, sitting empty, and the third option I can’t remember? Love that you own all of your cars. Love the channel
Air bnb currently
where do you find the cars to buy? or do they come from just dealer auctions
New camera is nice
If near 100k. We always change the timing belt tensioner and water pump, most likely I will finance the vehicle in house and it needs to be reliable for the next 2 years
Love your videos. I am looking for a 2012-14 Acura TL. Any suggestions. Even an earlier TL
Hey Craig, great video… Very informative, thank you! Question, are you buying less from ACV AUCTIONS? Do you see a big difference in prices/vehicles quality between ACV and other auctions? Thanks!
I do but not often
Ford flex had a rental once wow what a car just don’t look at it outside but so fast and smooth ride
Heard on CNBC this morning that Texas has received more snow this winter than New England!
Probably, I'm in Southern New Hampshire and there is no snow on the ground
This is the samething I do for tax time! We should do a video together talking about tax time. Love your channel!
Great video
Awesome videos
This was a great video
How are you getting the cars back to the shop? Your own trailer or are you using a transport service
I love ford flex. I'm s flex fan, they are timeless
I buy, repair and sell computers as a side gig. I work very similarly. it's a lot of risk because the market is so volatile. People are always looking for a $100 - $150 dollar kick around though so a lot of what I sell is used business laptops. Things like Thinkpads and Latitudes. I'll buy them by the pallets, clean them up add storage devices, add ram and install windows and flip them. Anything I can't sell as a whole I keep for parts for another. It's definitely a numbers game with an end goal of profit and above all happy customers. I get to take another man's junk for a few bucks to another's prized possession. It's risky nut fun. It's especially fun when I make a decent profit and a long term customer.
Luckily that WRX is a chain motor so you don't have to worry about replacing the timing belt lol. I made my business on fixing and selling Subaru's that customers would trade in.
Is there a way to buy cars in the auction without a dealer license? By the way great videos with tons of valuable information. Craig do you still have the $297 course that you promoted in other videos?
multi generation dealer owners , definitely gave you a heads up on your start in the beginning
All me my friend. I had no dealer help
@@FlyingWheels i thought you said your father and grandfather where both dealers?in older videos
The Flex Ecoboost is a Taurus SHO wagon. Very tuneable. SHO parts usually bolt on. Re, WRX... I'd price it as is. If a buyer asks about the timing belt, I'd offer to do it at cost.
on the 3.5 tt it's a internal timing chain that you have to open up the engine. About a 10 hour job at the dealer. Possibly 2 days at a local tech who isn't familiar with the 3.5 twin turbo ecoboost

Another Great video
Inspect the belt and reassure the person buying the car that it was replaced if it looks new
The 2017 Renegade, unfortunately, is designed & built by Fiat. That doesn't mean it's not a good buy/sell option but I'd never buy anything from the Chrysler/Fiat era. Get an older one that's been looked after, friends! You won't be sorry.
id fix the timing and water pump, 1k to make it more reliable and potentially prevent an upset customer is going to pay off by word of mouth traffic. Especially if you mention on the listing that you took care of it shows you are thinking of these issues ahead of time etc.
you teach truth. when you have the floorplan, do you give it a fixed time before you put the car back in the auction? how was this year tax time? i flipped a few but didn't see much bump.
I really like my gasoline vehicles. Especially for utility vehicles. How do you make them battery and also dependable in extreme environments?
In the current price decline environment, did you still save money pre buying all your tax cars versus buying now, when the prices are falling?
I own some for too much
Craig, since no sales tax is charged in NH, are you more flexible with out-of-state buyers, knowing they’ll have to pay tax once they register in their home state? I ask because I live in Maine and was thinking of buying a car soon…
I am not. Your state sales tax is between you and your state.
Good old aane wass there Thurs night picking up cars
Enjoy your videos
Tax season will be a dud this year.
Which auction is this?
great video!!!!!!!!!
2015 WRX has a timing chain, not a belt. Subarus are more reliable after 2013-2015 depending on model. No longer have head gasket issues as a common occurrence.
Ty FW!
On the subaru it'd be better to have the 1k spent to have the work done by you so another shop doesn't mess the job up and potentially charge 1500 and over charge
what's everyone's opinion about possible crash in car prices in the next 6 months or so
Really apprciate how you started from very little and have bootstrapped your way to great success that you own and control. Kudos to you Craig!
Thank you!
I know this is an older video but I enjoy watching these auction videos and showing what you decide will sell and what doesn’t. The different issues with various models to absolutely avoid. I’ve been looking around for a used pickup in good shape for a decent price, like the silver 2015 Chevy 1500 and the Ram Big Horn, and would be a cash buyer. Unfortunately it seems like being a cash buyer is a serious turn off, and having a buyer who finances is more desirable by what is mentioned in these videos. There must be more insensitive and profit for the dealer when financing is involved. The 2015 looks nice, I’m a bigger guy and there’s plenty of room behind the wheel in this truck, I see that it has a new transmission which also offers peace of mind as that is a known issue over 100k. Have always enjoyed the channel and the behind the scenes of owning a smaller used car dealership
They will use their tax refund to buy heating oil and food . Not a used car !
Wish I had a mentor like you down in north TX I would be head and shoulders over most people around here lol if that’s something you offer or into I’d like to have a zoom call maybe one day..
i sold my Corvette by the thing I learned from you craig, i got what many said i couldn't get for it, Now i got to flip the 2 nissan sentra ser's
I think your last camera had a better focus, just saying. Good advice though Craig. PS: modern AUDI's are euro-money pits.
Do you have any stories or knowledge of where auto dealers are sued or held liable for a car accident from a car they sold?
Com8ng soon
I normally enjoy your videos Craig but I really enjoyed this one
What you said about family support is the biggest advantage anyone can have.
I'm eternally grateful to my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles
I just bought 4cars from the auction and I’m also broke. Seriously 😢
In the market for a vehicle and looking at the Buick Enclave or the Chevy Traverse. Which would you recommend?
Same car. Enclave is the upgrade
Timing chain issues in both ..
What do you think of a 2013 dodge Durango crew 3.7 v6 2wd. 151,000 miles, very clean interior for $5,000
So they changed the withholding tables but not the tax rates so what about folks like me that are forking out 5 grand and not getting a return ? I want to trade my 14 ram for a newer truck but Im not going to now.
