I finally am feeling comfortable with the maker. I’ve had it almost 2 years now. It’s always FOMO when new and grander things come out but I think I’ll just stay focused on becoming an expert on my maker. Still lots to learn! lol

It has taken them a long time to catch up with the Silhouette Cameo Pro which I bought years ago at around half the price. If you do buy such a wide format cutter it is really useful for drawing and cutting out pdf sewing patterns. You still have to tile the larger pattern pieces, but it is a lot quicker than printing and cutting A4 or letter size paper. On the Cameo you can use the rotary blade to cut out some fabric pattern pieces directly on the mat.
@@JenniferMaker It can be loud, I would not use it late at night, depends on what material it is cutting. However it is no worse than my embroidery machine, I do not need to wear ear defenders to use it.
@@JenniferMakerit is, I have 2 cricut maker and xtra, and Cameo Pro 24” and the first time I started it I thought it was broken, but its nice that it gives you estimated time before the project is finished for multitasking

Hi Jennifer. It is so nice to see that Cricut doesn't "sit on their laurels" so to speak when it comes to inventing new products for crafters to use. I am sure this will be an asset to those who do a lot for crafting for sales and I'm sure that right now it is on a lot of crafters' bucket lists. However I am later on in years and would not be buying this. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to use transfer tape on something as big as these cuts can be but I'm sure the younger crafters will figure it out. As usual Jennifer, your tutorials are so very much fun and informative. thank you for staying on top of things for us. You are a gem.

Great introduction! I sure wished there was a rotary blade for this machine. For this price point I feel like that would seal the deal for me. But as I understand it, you can use a bonded fabric blade. That could work as well. 🤔

Good comment, also everyone needs to think about where they plan to keep the materials. I have a 24 in Roland cutter and my rolls of vinyl are a lot to store, not to mention the new Cricut 24 X 28in cardstock!! That's why I really liked the original Maker!!

The concept is great, but they missed the boat when it comes to fabric, that would have been game changer for those who have difficulty cutting pattern pieces.

Thank you for explaining why you paid for the machine yourself. When I saw your other CRICUT Venture unboxing, I thought that CRICUT simply didn’t want to provide the machine to you at no cost. This is another great review!!! PS. I place a small piece of painters tape on the mat covers to identify which side to place back onto the mats after I use them.
Strongly considering buying this. I have the 24” silhouette machine but it’s been causing a lot of frustration with the vinyl moving all over the place while making larger cuts. My only issue with the venture is that I won’t be able to make larger cuts without a mat using non-cricut vinyl. I really love oracal vinyl so I’m torn.
I almost thought about giving this a try but not if I can only use cricut vinyl when cutting mat less. I'll stick with Sillouette Pro and use whatever vinyl I want mat less.

Looks seriously cool for small businesses, but probably not for me since I'm just a small-time crafter. My other hesitation would be the Cricut smart vinyl. I've had waaaaay too many problems with the Smart vinyl. So even with my Maker 3, I use the regular vinyl or competing brands. Until they fix the issues with smart vinyl, I'm sticking with the mats (pun intended). I'm still excited to see what sort of cool projects everyone comes up with!
Q: Can you please tell us about your printer shown in this video? I was hesitant about the Cricut Venture before your video but after watching your presentation I’m coming around BUT I will have to watch more in-depth videos before I jump on this boat. SPACE is definitely my biggest consideration. I’m definitely a Cricut girl, I just wish Cricut would do a BETTER job of making the accessories more interchangeable for their customers. I understand wanting to be innovative BUT think about the customers and the machines they already have. I have 3 Cricut machines and I want to continue using them BUT I also want to have exciting new accessories for them. Thank you so much for sharing this information. HOWEVER, I don't like the fact that the new machine will only cut matless with Cricut's smart material only, and that you can only use Cicut's software.
I heard the same thing as well, but when I watched some of the other videos, there were other UA-camrs that were using their laptop. So if Cricut did set this machine up for desktop only, then they are only hurting themselves because a lot of people don't have desktop computers.
"Desktop" means a regular computer (desktop or laptop), not a mobile device. A laptop running Windows or Mac works with Venture. I used my laptop with it just today.
@JenniferMaker Don't get me wrong, I like it and I make multiple projects at the same time, as a matter of fact, I own two Cricut Maker 3 machines because I do multiple things at the same time along with other brand cutting machines. I also called Cricut to confirm about the desktop comment that is also mentioned in the description area on their website for the Venture and they explained everything So we will see if they will be more specific for a lot of other people who are not aware that they can use their laptop like they said they would. Either way, I'm excited about the Cricut Venture, I just wish that it could cut matless with other brands of vinyl and that it can be used with other software. None of this means that I will not be purchasing the Venture. 💝
You found to let us know what field to dig in to find the cool grand this thing is gonna cost? I would love to buy this especially because I have bigger people in my family to make shirts for, but even if I had the money it's hard to justify when the cameo 4 is half the price. (And the siser is 25 percent less.) (I know there's issues with that machine, and I'm sure some will pop up with this one also.) And having to buy smart materials......
This couldn’t have come at a better time. I was going to upgrade my Siser Juliet to a Romeo. I use it for large print then cut. I still use my Cricut Maker. The auto cut off has sealed it for me. It’s mine!!! I’m ready 🥰 I honestly don’t have a problem with the cost because the Romeo is 699 and doesn’t come with an auto cutoff. It is expensive but I think it’s worth it for me.
Some of the last Cricut releases have been a bit of a disappointment to me. Love the size of the Cricut Joy, but no Print Then Cut, which was a deal breaker for me ( I wanted to make decoupage pieces for my 3D cards) The AutoPress? Soooo expensive, and yet it seems to fail on items needing heavy pressure. Now this - great large format, but a step back from the Maker since it can't use the Maker tools like the Rotary Blade and more. I applaud the innovations and new options, but I'm hoping that someone somewhere in the Cricut design world is also working on some ground breaking improvements to Design Space so that those of us with smaller budgets still feel like we are being catered to. One wish of mine is to be able to Print Then Cut on the SMALLER page sizes that my printer can print on, like 5X7 and 3.5X5, so I can Print Then Cut Smaller projects with less waste. I'm also concerned with how much the consumables will be for the Venture. A glance at the Canadian Cricut store shows the large mats at $45 each! (Canadian) Gulp!!
The Venture it not for everyone, and it sounds like it's not for you. But I appreciate that they are trying to accommodate those who do have a need for something like this.
I think this is a very cool Cricut machine, love how it cuts vertically instead of horizontally. That is a genius move on Cricut. Love the sizes it can do as well. I don't think I need a machine this big though. But I've learned to never say never. LOL I do love the machine though and think it is pretty darn sweet! Thanks for the video, looking forward to seeing what all you do with this machine in the future.
I'm new to all this...bit when I was younger we called these plotters and CNC machines 🤣...and they've always been expensive and industrial - I think Cricut simply made home versions with more capacity and materials. Ok, let me watch this vid now 😊

Agree! I think if you do this for a living great but for small family parties I've seen people make huge cuts with the maker. So it's cool but I think not necessary for hobby crafting.

Hello Jennifer, Thank you for this video. This is very exciting. I have the cricut maker 3. I love the easy use of Cricut design space. 1 1/2 yrs ago I purchased the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro 24 inch. I have used it 3 times. I find the Silhouette software and the machine too complicated to navigate. I will have to take a look at maybe investing in the venture as I could use design space.

I can use oracal matless in my maker 3 but don't know if it would work on this

Looks seriously cool for small businesses, but probably not for me since I'm just a small-time crafter. My other hesitation would be the Cricut smart vinyl. I've had waaaaay too many problems with the Smart vinyl. So even with my Maker 3, I use the regular vinyl or competing brands. Until they fix the issues with smart vinyl, I'm sticking with the mats (pun intended). I'm still excited to see what sort of cool projects everyone comes up with!

Q: Can you please tell us about your printer shown in this video? I was hesitant about the Cricut Venture before your video but after watching your presentation I’m coming around BUT I will have to watch more in-depth videos before I jump on this boat. SPACE is definitely my biggest consideration. I’m definitely a Cricut girl, I just wish Cricut would do a BETTER job of making the accessories more interchangeable for their customers. I understand wanting to be innovative BUT think about the customers and the machines they already have. I have 3 Cricut machines and I want to continue using them BUT I also want to have exciting new accessories for them. HOWEVER, I don't like the fact that the new machine will only cut matless with Cricut's smart material only, and that you can only use Cicut's software.
And only on a desktop
I heard the same thing as well, but when I watched some of the other videos, there were other UA-camrs that were using their laptop.
So if Cricut did set this machine up for desktop only, then they are only hurting themselves because a lot of people don't have desktop computers.
I understand. It sound like this is not the right machine for you. :)
"Desktop" means a regular computer (desktop or laptop), not a mobile device. A laptop running Windows or Mac works with Venture. I used my laptop with it just today.
@JenniferMaker Don't get me wrong, I like it and I make multiple projects at the same time, as a matter of fact, I own two Cricut Maker 3 machines because I do multiple things at the same time along with other brand cutting machines.
I also called Cricut to confirm about the desktop comment that is also mentioned in the description area on their website for the Venture and they explained everything So we will see if they will be more specific for a lot of other people who are not aware that they can use their laptop like they said they would.
Either way, I'm excited about the Cricut Venture, I just wish that it could cut matless with other brands of vinyl and that it can be used with other software.
None of this means that I will not be purchasing the Venture. 💝

You found to let us know what field to dig in to find the cool grand this thing is gonna cost? I would love to buy this especially because I have bigger people in my family to make shirts for, but even if I had the money it's hard to justify when the cameo 4 is half the price. (And the siser is 25 percent less.)
(I know there's issues with that machine, and I'm sure some will pop up with this one also.)
And having to buy smart materials......

This couldn’t have come at a better time. I was going to upgrade my Siser Juliet to a Romeo. I use it for large print then cut. I still use my Cricut Maker. The auto cut off has sealed it for me. It’s mine!!! I’m ready 🥰 I honestly don’t have a problem with the cost because the Romeo is 699 and doesn’t come with an auto cutoff. It is expensive but I think it’s worth it for me.
The auto cut off blade is sold separately. It does come with the manual cuter though.
I also saw that it's coming later this year, and will be $19.99.
The auto cutoff tool is VERY cool.
@@JenniferMaker have you tried larger print then cut? Maybe 13x 19?
Auto cut off can be done without issue with the Romeo as well as a larger cutting surface and larger Print and Cut perimeters :)
Some of the last Cricut releases have been a bit of a disappointment to me. Love the size of the Cricut Joy, but no Print Then Cut, which was a deal breaker for me ( I wanted to make decoupage pieces for my 3D cards) The AutoPress? Soooo expensive, and yet it seems to fail on items needing heavy pressure. Now this - great large format, but a step back from the Maker since it can't use the Maker tools like the Rotary Blade and more. I applaud the innovations and new options, but I'm hoping that someone somewhere in the Cricut design world is also working on some ground breaking improvements to Design Space so that those of us with smaller budgets still feel like we are being catered to. One wish of mine is to be able to Print Then Cut on the SMALLER page sizes that my printer can print on, like 5X7 and 3.5X5, so I can Print Then Cut Smaller projects with less waste.
I'm also concerned with how much the consumables will be for the Venture. A glance at the Canadian Cricut store shows the large mats at $45 each! (Canadian) Gulp!!
The Venture it not for everyone, and it sounds like it's not for you. But I appreciate that they are trying to accommodate those who do have a need for something like this.

I think this is a very cool Cricut machine, love how it cuts vertically instead of horizontally. That is a genius move on Cricut. Love the sizes it can do as well. I don't think I need a machine this big though. But I've learned to never say never. LOL I do love the machine though and think it is pretty darn sweet! Thanks for the video, looking forward to seeing what all you do with this machine in the future.

I'm new to all this...bit when I was younger we called these plotters and CNC machines 🤣...and they've always been expensive and industrial - I think Cricut simply made home versions with more capacity and materials. Ok, let me watch this vid now 😊

Agree! I think if you do this for a living great but for small family parties I've seen people make huge cuts with the maker. So it's cool but I think not necessary for hobby crafting.

1 1/2 yrs ago I purchased the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro 24 inch. I have used it 3 times. I find the Silhouette software and the machine too complicated to navigate. I will have to take a look at maybe investing in the venture as I could use design space.
