Such a great idea, as long as the bike doesn’t get damaged. Have to love those 20% ramps out of villages in England.

Great little series of 50 milers. Horton in Ribblesdale is now firmly on my radar. Thanks for that!

Thanks, Matthew. I really enjoyed putting this little series together and all the different types of riding it threw up. Horton in Ribblesdale is definitely worth a visit if you get the chance!🙂

My partner and myself have been really enjoying all of your content and we’d like you to know you’ve inspired us greatly! Really love the 50 mile series as we’re both aiming to smash 50 miles in a day. So far our longest has been 32 miles.
    Keep on going!!!
    P.s were near Burnley/Todmorden.

Good ride with a very varied route.
It's great to see the landscape changing as you tick the miles off.
I recognised the right turn to Darwen from my Avanti-sponsored 'Preston to Home' escapade last year.

Thanks, Gordon. The point-to-points have been great for that ever changing scenery and a few curve-ball sections too! It's a decent pull up out of Darwen but always worth it when the views open up at the top!

Great vibe to this video pal. Looks like a good route. I need to get my head around those Komoot shenanigans!

Thanks, mate. Lots of unknown roads on this one but the route really exceeded expectations, especially the section out of Preston. Komoot doesn't always get it right but it was spot on for this one! 🙂

Enjoyed the series, being local its given me a few ideas too. Might have to pinch one or two of these for a day out

Interesting that you can come up with an idea like the four rides from fifty miles and it gets you into all that amazing countryside and on all those unexpected tracks. Even though we cycle on different routes and in different parts of the country we still face the same problems as cyclists - tractors on narrow lanes and potholes to name but two. Would be useful to have a video describing how to planned the routes. Thanks for the videos.

Thanks, Brian. Yes, really enjoyed getting onto some new roads as part of this series. I have a longer ride coming up hopefully, which I'll need to plan quite carefully, so might include the planning in that one if I take the camera along etc. Appreciate you following along and happy cycling!

Good to see some northern rides. I live in Northamptonshire - so no coastal rides for me!
I'm in my mid sixties so any hill more than 10-12% means walking up for me, better now as just fitted grx 46/30 and 34 rear on my triban rc520.

I'm sure that's made a pretty noticeable difference on the hills, Andy - very similar setup on mine (11-40t though, proper dinner plate) and I'm really grateful for it on long hilly rides. Thanks for the comment and happy cycling!

If I ever get a chance to ride in Britain, it would certainly be in the Pennine hills.

Just found and subbed to your channel👍🏻 I live in the West Mids but my daughter and family live in Clayton le Moors and the riding round there looks great, really must stick the gravel bike in the car next time we go up! Found a route which went round Pendle Hill which looked interesting but can’t seem to find it now!!!

Great to have you following along, Neal. From Clayton le Moors you could be out in the Forest of Bowland in no time at all - one of any number of great options from there I'm sure. Definitely worthy of bringing the bike along next time you're heading up! Happy cycling!

May I ask a question. I've just purchased a Boardman SLR 8.9 and had the marathon plus 28mm tyres fitted by Halfords. The only issue I have is that I cannot get the front wheel off due to the width of the tyres getting caught on the brake blocks, just wondering whether you have a solution or just don't have a need. Loving the channel btw, so helpful 👍

    • @onemorecyclist

Thanks, Paul. I run 25mm Marathons and using the little 'dial' on the brakes to open them a bit more (no idea what the technical term is for this, looks like a backwards apostrophe on the side of each calliper that you can turn upwards; just mentioning as you might have missed this?) I can get the tyres off. The only other thing that springs to mind is letting a bit of air out to get them off. Not ideal if you're on the road (never punctured on these tyres myself) but if at home and you have a track pump very easy to quickly re-inflate. Interested to see if anyone picks this up and has an easier/better solution. Enjoy the new bike and happy cycling!

Many thanks for your response, I didn't consider this when ordering my 28mm tyres, but yes my current workaround is to deflate the tyre even after loosening the 'apostrophe'. If it gets too annoying I'll order a set of 25mm ones and see if I can eBay the 28mm ones. Thanks again

Thanks! Always hands free (the camera, that is!) whenever the speed picks up. 🙂
