I love the "Sense of value" rating, that's a great way of describing it's perceived value. All too often we just see a ticket price comparison. Great video. The only thing that confuses me with this car is that some reviews seem to suggest the switchgear and controls are a bit low rent, others say they're fine and I just wondered why. My nearest dealer is a 180m round trip so not something I can easily check out for myself.
Didn’t like it at first but this model looks amazing. Most all crossovers look bland and uniform but this is actually something different that looks great without being ridiculous
Appreciate the objective and balanced review. Very well done. I own a Giulia and car not perfect but frankly feels special compared to competitor and imagine similar for this car.
Thanks for the video, very informative. I'm looking at a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport AWD 89K miles, $21,500. White exterior, brown and tan interior. The more I look at it, the more it appeals to me. Thanks, :)
Omg, this car does the led lights right. I know it's a tiny detail, but I can't stand the majority of all other cars that the led drl turns off when you turn on the turn signal. As if it would be hard to see the signal if the drl were still on. Well, it isn't and this car proves it. Some newer cars where the white led drl becomes the turn signal is fine, and actually I like that a lot. But if they're different lights, there is no need to turn off the led light. On this car, the turn signal is still very visible when the drl is still on. Good job Alfa!
Just bought this car! Black with red leather interior. Sexy as hell! Love it 🥰 drives like a dream. Last 2 cars ~ Jaguars Beautiful cars too. ♥️ Thank you ☺️
It drives like an Alfa. If just want a great CUV all-around go buy a CX-5 signature trim model, plenty of power and all the options. If you want a CUV that is built to drive, see where Alfa spent the money...carbon fiber driveshaft, great tranny, forged suspension bits. If you want a nameplate or are another marque fan get the BMW/Merc/Porsche/Volvo/Lexus version. Alfa always fit a different place in the market for better or worse, not the most luxurious, not the price leader, but a driver's car (now CUV).
The new Imola Titanium Metallic w/ Black Edition looks SMOKIN' hot. No other SUV like it on the road (save a ridiculously-priced $240,000 Lambo SUV), and it's just a stunner. Plus it drives better than just about any other SUV, and it's got some serious kick to it--even for the base engine. For around $50 grand, it offers a LOT of bang-for-the-buck that you won't find in any other SUV at that price point.
even now, two years later, Stelvio is still my choice. Although the F-Pace would be my second choice in this segment over any of the German alternatives.
It has the Italian gusto, which is a nice difference to the generally stoic Germans, but I can't trust the build quality...yet. In the class, I would still do the Q5 or GLC.
I can, but maybe that's just me, and I could care less about "standing out," especially if a car at this price point is on the lift almost as much as on the road.
A german SUV, or a Land Rover is in the same price range as the Alfa and this Alfa isn't from 1972 and btw, the Germans aren't exactly bulletproof either. At least the Land Rover and this Stelvio don't blend in.
I've owned a few BMWs and Mercedes.. and still own two BMW's.. They are reliable?? OH HOW I WISH... I've ordered one of these.. at least it will be fun to drive..
With the way you described the Start Stop System, I would not want my wife and kids driving in that! Sure hope Alfa corrects this with an update. But sure looks beautiful and different from the other million SUVs out there.
Maybe because you probably didn't opted for the noise reduction options which include double glass windows. ...but it makes it a little bit heaver. It's a trade off.
EPA regulations are such that the off-switch (when it exists) for auto start stop is always "momentary" which means when you start the car again, the system is active again.
I think crossover might be a strong word for this vehicle. Couldn't Alpha Romeo just lower it a few millimeters and call it a Giulia Hatchback? Since it has no D Pillar windows, it really looks like a hatchback. The second row seats don't even recline and the seat belts for the seats are mounted in the seat instead of the C Pillar. He didn't even take it off-road. If I was shopping in this segment and I needed four doors, I would just get a A5/S5 Sportback.
Elliott Manning I agree. It’s trying to be a sporty SUV but it’s really more of a raised Giulia hatchback. I bet even fewer Stelio drivers will go off road than the average SUV. It would be nice to offer a version without the off road pretensions. Porsche is doing something like this with their Panamera tourismo.
Agree but so is 98% of Crossover today they just look less of a hatchback but all are just a lifted hatch. Too bad that's what most buyer wants and Alfa as a new entry to US have to do what sell most.
At this price range, you're better off going with the Acura RDX a reliable great value vehicle. Which also has a sweet sounding V-6 as opposed to the turbo charged 4 cylinder.
You've got to be off your rocker! The only thing that will come close to this and much more expensive is the Macan GTS. this 4 Cylinders Turbo is just incredible!
@@danielnguyen2846 Porsche SUVs, both Cayenne and Macan, are built over VW platforms with Audi/VW engines (TFSI and TDI). Yes, the cars might be better built, but will it justify the price difference for the same product from Audi and VW?
It looks unique but it looks sort of ugly. It doesn't have a license plate mount in the middle but on the right making even uglier. Also, it's prone to worse front collision damage because the bumper is missing in the middle like the Lexus Modern Design.
I drove it, too much wind noise leakage. Depreciation will be very high on these cars, not a lot of dealerships available yet. Flimsy control knobs, great seats, great looking, but way too expensive and no history of reliability .

I heard that it can be turned off by disconnecting the hood sensor on the passenger side?
I believe you can de activate the startstop

So you disable it again....big freaking deal....

So can the feature of stopping /starting the engine be permanently turned off?
no
You may be able to do it with an OBD tool. I turned it off on my Audi Q5 using the Charista OBD tool.

Looks like this was shot in Phoenix or Tucson? lol
East of Phoenix
No washboard road test?
The styling is a hit. My issue or not is the look of the plastics and it seems like it has panel alignment issues. It could just be the video though.
How tall are you? I appreciate the review but just wondering what your height is.
