  • With this week's video tutorial we're taking our lettering and handmade fonts to a more intermediate level. This uppercase font uses a shadow or outline to make it pop, and while shadow fonts can be a bit tricky, they are not too difficult if you know where to put that shadow/ outline.
For that reason I've prepped an entire uppercase example alphabet, which you can download over at my blog, www.shaydacampbellblog.com/.

Will you do the modern calligraphy font? And include an alphabet?

What a fun video! I appreciate the free-ness of contouring the little beach creatures. Did you by chance find a turtle? :D I'm trying to create a "thank you" for a friend who watched my son for a few hours each day while I had to be out and about. She LOVES turtles! Good job, Shayda!

I'm curious about your pen grip. I'm trained as a teacher and I've studied occupational therapy a bit, especially as it pertains to pen grip and teaching writing. you and several other you tubers have this same grip and I'm so curious where you've learned it. the stronger part of your grip comes from your thumb and then first finger and you have taken your thumb out of play completely which is why you have to grip so hard and your hand gets tired. I've really been so puzzled seeing so many with this grip on videos and I've even tried it to see if I could figure out an advantage, but I just get a tired hand. lol But your work is so pretty, so maybe there is something I'm missing? I'd love to know!

For your tripod, if you haven't already, you should try getting a gooseneck arm. super flexible and stays out of the way.
